I was wondering if I could get a distressed classic too? Stitching isn't my thing. I love the classic but really love the distressed look. Can I request that?

I'm still working on finding something to do with my A5 planners, so that is an interesting idea. I kind of started an art notebook when I was researching art journals. Mine is just in a composition notebook, and is more of an area for me to try things in right now. I was playing around with distress inks, made a couple swatches, and now I'm finishing up on a collage with tip-ins page. One of these days, I might try to add in doodles/sketches... not really sure right now.
Hey Ali! I haven't used watercolors since I was a girl. I think I had a horror of the media spreading all over the paper (I'm more of an everything in its place kinda person); but that's what watercolor is sort of, "controlled chaos", right? You certainly are inspiring me to grab a Dollar Store paint set and experiment. Love your videos :) Have a blessed weekend.

hey miss ali, I recently purchased a chic sparrow in an A5 due to this very you tube video I am a huge fan of art journaling and I try to do it almost every day. I have journals all over the place I have ones that people have made for me but I decided that I wanted a leather one so I just have a brief question what is the best insert to purchase for the A5 I was hoping you could help me with this.. I would love truly an suggestion you might have. thanks.
Jennifer Sullivan I think she uses tomoe river paper a lot. Chic sparrow and etsy have lots of sellers or even tomoe seller themself.
Hi Ali ~ you were referring to a book that you just read while talking about the 1000 things to be thankful for. I was interested to find out what the name of the book was you read and find out more about the 1000 things you are thankful for? As always, loved your video Ali! xo
I think she's referring to 1000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp. It is a spectacular book. However, some people I know who've read it really don't like Ann's style of writing (she's very thought-provokingly poetic). I loved the book because it reiterated something my husband has been teaching us for the last 10 years we've been living in a rural village in Africa. GRATITUDE!!!! Anyway, in the book, she issues a challenge to list 3 things for which you are grateful on a daily basis and by the end of the year, there's more than 1000.

Yes I have an A5 chic sparrow Outlander & it's my happy place to art, journal w-pics, practice my lettering ( which is terrible) although my library has WONDERFUL calligraphy classes I'm going to attend this month along w-a few other creative classes... Ali, I don't think I've commented on one of your videos before, but after watching your periscope last night and it killing my phone battery, I was excited to see you've added this video. Anyway, I'd just finished spending the limit my husband gave me on the Jeanne Oliver class sales when I watched your periscope. And yes, I did go back and add that Wendy Brightbill class. I haven't told him yet. But you know what they say about forgiveness and permission (do you know?) Anyway….now to find the time to do the art and do the classes!

Found your videos...i have been pouring over videos trying to make up my mind do I want a TN or a planner or what. I ran onto your why I love it video. After a couple minutes I subscribed!!! What did you call it?, squirrel syndrome or bunny path? Some small animal but whatever, that is a gift from God!!!! Your videos are so entertaining as well as encouraging and informative!!! I've finally narrowed my choices down, based on sketchbooks I like to use...the Stillman and Birn softcover sketchbooks come in 5.5"x8.5"... do you think that size would fit in this notebook? They make the most awesome paper, of 3 different types, from sketching paper that takes light washes to thicker paper for mixed media.
Hi I'm so very new to all of this and I was wondering if you could help me really fast, if you laid your cover flat with the cover completely open what are the measurements. I have a lot of access to leather and want to make my own a5. My second question is what are the measurements for inserts if I were to pick some up or make my own. Love your drawings!! Your girls are so whimsical and perty. :) I made a few inserts for my Chic Sparrow Outlander Pocket sized. One is for Gratefuls only. I did a year of daily Gratefuls in a journal a few years back. I loved it!
