The top of the roof was, the only way out, jump. It was a vision, a nightmare, a memory. Then at the end he's back in real life & he honors the vision/nightmare/memory & changes his DIRECTION. Leo, back when MTV was music, there were two kinds of videos. One where the band is just playing, and another that was a mini movie that usually didn't even have anything to do with the song. They decided to do both. Lol. I forgot about that with this video.
If you're still reading, I have a suggestion for you. When you decide to do a reaction, let the video play all the way through first with auto play off. Don't listen to it, or watch it. Just go do something else. When it's over and you come back, just move the slider back to the beginning and it might all be cached on your computer. If there are commercials in the video, doing this will take care of that too. They won't play the second time through.

Yes - “I’ve Seen All Good People”
“Owner of a Lonely Heart” was produced by Trevor Horn. He also produced a ton of other stuff of which Seal’s “Kiss From a Rose” was one. Trevor Horn is also the guy with the big round glasses in the Buggles “Video Killed the Radio Star”. He also was a founding member of Art of Noise.
Significant Art of Noise tunes: “Close (to the Edit)” - there’s a fantastic live version with him playing base, but the official video is also an experience to watch.
    “Paranoimia”, featuring Max Headroom
“Peter Gunn”, featuring Duane Eddy and the video features Rik Mayall (from the tv shows The Young Ones and Bottom, and the movie “Drop Dead Fred”) (1986)
    “Dragnet” (1988)

Yes opens up a whole universe of very different songs and styles. For many veteran Yes fans, their "big time" ends with the beginning of the 80s. All of the old songs are really great. (I love the 1973 live album Yessongs). But the newer albums are also full of songs that are worth listening to. Even those who miss the "epic" long songs: with "Mind Drive", "That That Is", "New Language" or "Fly From Here" (e.g.) there is also a lot of material.

Yay!! Thank you for the Friday video! 💕 I happen to agree that the owner of a lonely heart is much better than the owner of a broken heart.
Speaking of broken hearts, would you please watch the uncut version of Jeremy by Pearl Jam?

One of my favourite songs by Yes 👍
Luckily I was brought up listening to these kinds of bands because of my dad. Sounds funny but even though songs like this aren't very happy the tune and beat always makes me feel better this one always gets me up and dancing around like an idiot 😂 😂

      @davidleeroth784 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Lol yes. Back then I often times didn't really get into the words just loved the beat. Wasn't till later in life that I realized some of the songs I felt good listening to were actually kinda dark or sad. 😂

YES actually made a bunch of videos for this song and MTV was not ready! They played so many different versions of the video and we could not keep up!

One of the best 80s rock songs I’ve heard.
I always thought the singer sounded a bit like Sting (from The Police).

You couldn't turn on the radio in 83-84 without hearing this song. They have dozens of great songs, "Close to the Edge" is probably their opus magnum. "Roundabout" was hugely influential on the rock scene. E.L.P. used the intro from Roundabout in their song "From the beginning" which is another song/band you should react to. "Starship Trooper" and "I've seen all Good People" are other great Yes songs that had a lot of radio play time.

Part of the writing credit for this song belongs to the producer, Trevor Horn of the Buggles ("Video Killed the Radio Star"). Horn produced this album (90125), and a few others for Yes in addition to producing for Seal, the Pet Shop Boys, and SO MANY others (including many that have been in your video feed).

In seriousness, born in 1980 as I was, this song was all over the charts and thus the radio when I was a toddler. My parents had several bar bands and they covered this sometimes during practice in the basement. This later version of the band was my first exposure to Yes and finding out the older stuff was just as popular at the time blew my mind when I got older and became a musician myself. Definitely check out Roundabout, even if every other reaction channel has also done the song. It's that good. Totally worth it.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of Yes' music. If you're ready for a deep dive, react to "Yes-Starship Trooper 1973". It shows what they could do live in their prime.
