dear Drop, I've been listening to Sybreed since 2007 and let me tell you there's no other band that influenced me more than Sybreed. I learned to play guitar by learning your songs. The sound of my first band was so much inspired by Sybreed. Now I play slightly different music, but I'm sure you can easily identify sybreed-inspired riffs even in the lighter songs I do now. If there's a God or Santa Claus, I pray they hear my with for Sybreed to return.
I hope you realise Drop how much we all support Sybreed and knowing you've helped make a positive impact in many people's lives with ONLY YOUR GUITAR!!!! Can't wait for more content on this channel :)
Have no idea how this song didn't make it on original release. Love the 4:10 section. This song feels like a cross of Slave and Antares really good stuff.
Amazing! Im so happy to hear a fresh song by Sybreed. Drop´s dirty djent riffs got me soo hooked back in 2005. Good memories comes back hearing this 🔥❤
Man, you're a Riff Master, I've been listen Sybreed since 2020 when I was 16 years old, you're one of my main Rhythm Guitar influence with Dino Cazares [Fear Factory, Asesino, Brujeria, Divine Heresy], Joe Duplantier [Gojira], Fredrik Thordendal [Meshuggah], Adam Jones [Tool], Peter Tagtgren [Hypocrisy, PAIN], Jeff Waters [Annihilator] and Mikael Akerfeldt [Opeth]
hey man, totally agree with you. You may also want to check out Symphony X. Michael Romeo is a hella composer. I know the neoclassical genre might not be for everyone, but in terms of riff wrighting he's one of the best. If youre curious enough, consider studying his riff wrighting. He's one of the best shredders also. Definetely underrated
Wow, thanks! Feels unreal being listed as an influence alongside so many of my own influences, like Fredrik or Dino. On my side, I’d add Clint Lowery from Sevendust, Jesper from (old) In Flames, and Stephen from Deftones.
@@meta1ky0 total beast yes! I just remembered that I always have a hard time distinguishing between the *Iconoclast* and *God Is an Automaton* album covers, they look so similar 😅
Listen, Drop puts out a Sybreed play through and I drop everything to watch it a few times a day. Sybreed was hugely underrated. Thank you for breathing new life into the project.
Ten years ago "Bioactive" came up on a streaming app my ISP had, based on my usual playlist and I fell in love with Sybreed. The app only had "Slave Design" and the Challenger single but since then i've been a huge fan. This is the closest thing to a dream come true that has happened in my life. Thank you so much!!
Man, I hope this means you guys can come back together. We need more Sybreed in our lives. P.S. I love that you detailed all of your gear, including strings. I always heard that you used huge strings, so it's nice to confirm.
@drop2540 you are truly one of the greats! Your riffs are always so heavy and dark sounding they’re fucking amazing! It great to hear this song again after so long
LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOO You’ve been a huge influence in my playing for half my life now. I keep a black RG tuned to Drop Bb around just to play Sybreed. Any chance we will ever see the bonus tracks of Antares make it to Spotify? Have a good one dude 👍
Needless to say, the riffs are in a league of their own. But let's also appreciate the rich soundscapes and production that bring it all to life. This is world building through music. It's why Sybreed has no real competitors.
This song, just like all your other songs are incredible! You guys need to come back! If Fear Factory can, you can too! And you should tour with them! Sounds like the perfect combination of Fear Factory and Soilwork, with a dash of Meshuggah
I just put 12-56 strings on my guitar for Drop A#, start noodling some Sybreed riffs. Come here and find out he uses a .56 for his 2nd string. Bruh… 😂 Sick playing as always.
Should defintely give us a guitar rig rundown. Specifically that one, as well as the (i think) HR Giger model? Were all Sybreed songs recorded with the 17-68 string gauge?
Yeah im also get the same an idea... collaboration for metal project... i have a drum part already made 3-4 genre modern metal, deathcore n groove metal
I respect r u still use 6 string guitar and creating amazing tones.I m wondering why dont use 7 or 8 string? I m think ur guitar baritone but use passive pickups but tones absoulty killing.
Funny, a new playthrough of an old song that's a new release... That's gotta feel weird, right? To play your 20 year old song *for the first time* before an audience. Neat song. I think I can tell why it's not on Slave Design, doesn't really match the tone, but cool to hear 20 years later.

Not only guitar, he does the synths and production in general too! Real cyberwizard 🦾
Great comment, soo true!
Does this mean Sybreed is coming back? SURELY!
It would be amazing..or the begining of an arg...

A Swiss friend introduced me to Sybreed around 2018. Man, you music + lyrics is profound!

Out of all the bands that I have listened to while at the gym over the years. Sybreed is one of the few that always remains.

for Drop A# on a regular scale length guitar, those gauges are perfect. They provide just the right amount of tension for those precise chugs
Man, thanks for detailed info in the description! This is how it should be for nerds like me )
PLEASE COME BACK AND DO 1 MORE GODLY ALBUM BOYS!!!!!!!! Slave Design 20th aniversary is amazing too! Thank you and the band for that!!

The detail at 3:38 riff. So tight and a nice touch to the contrast of the other riffs. Always been a fan. Huge influence on GOD. Well done.

To this very day... The guitar work on Bioactive drives me crazy.
Absolute beast.
Holy shit drop didn’t know you had a channel. Nice. Subbed

Hey Drop! Do you use something specific for your huge guitar tone?

great song and great perfomance)
btw, is there any info about guitar at the back of headstock?
Do a Sybreed playthrough with the pod pro if you still have it plz.

Thanks! We played it live back then, between 2003 and 2004 more or less. But yeah first time I play this new version.
This an ibanez 1998 i think n same like mine red candy color 1998 ibanez MiJ
It's a pleasure to see things that were made a long time ago still working well in good hands.
1998 can definitely be the year of this guitar yes! I'm not its 1st owner though.
