I think more than Tom Barber, this is the Steve Rutishaiser era of this band. His guitar playing and the general song compositions on the new "Suffer..." albums really pushed them into a whole new level.
th-cam.com/video/X9qPETSIB7M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=G9Wv5qf5gTwZfe47 if you havent seen this live from Darko us with Tom. you should. It gives you that much more appreciation for Tom Barber and his talents
I've met Tom Barber Lorna Shore era, one of the most down to earth dudes ive ever met. he also very very talented. I am just glad to hear him doing vocals. one of the biggest inspirations
I seen Chelsea Grin last month in Johnson City TN, and Tom is unreal live. Hearing that opening cord to Recreant had me smiling instantly! But, dude I just wanna say your enthusiasm and passion for this genre is needed. Every time I watch one of your videos I feel like I’m talking about one of my favorite bands with one of my friends! Keep doing what you’re doing man, we all love it!!
You mentioned it I think in the Ricky Hoover or Dan Tucker podcast, but I love that you don't dive into the drama/personal issues too much. It just shows that you really care about displaying the bands history and evolution rather than engagement baiting. And you do a fantastic job covering it! Can't wait for the merch drop m8!

Both CG eras are untouched. Alex and Tom are Co- Goats. Best Deathcore band ever hands down. Wish nothing but the best for CG and Ameonna. Especially Now that Josh Miller is in CG and Pablo is in Ameonna… sheeeesh roll in the heat
When I heard the announcement that Tom was going to be the new vocalist for Chelsea Grin I got really excited because I had already been a fan of Lorna Shore for a few years prior. I even met Tom back in 2015 around the time they released Psalms. He was a very nice guy and I would totally meet him again and have more small talk with him lol I've supported Tom and his projects for almost a decade now. Still have yet to see him perform with Chelsea Grin, but hopefully it'll happen someday.
Dude. You're killin it right now. I love seeing how much you've grown since the CG Myspace era vid. The editing, the quality, ALL of it. I can't sleep tonight, theres a lot of shit going on but I find comfort in your videos. It sounds silly but for someone who isolates and stays away from people. Life doesn't feel so lonely. Thank you brada. Much love. 🤘🤘 EDIT: mentioning Darko US means you have to do a video on them. Its such an interesting story and the 2 that make Darko are legends in the "scene" themselves.
Great video! You have to go see them live for sure! Tom’s vocals and just as a performer is amazing! I have seen them a few times now and every show has been a top show of the year for me that I have attended. They sound phenomenal live and it’s refreshing to hear a band play live and the sound be at the level of the album. The whole vibe is one of a kind that is the best time. They are consistent as well. I have seen then 3 times and each and every time everyone is in the crowd just having a blast and the show is top tier. I do believe Toms presence, him as an artist, as a performer and also a songwriter has really brought this band to their full creative and performing potential. There is nothing that tops seeing these guys live. I will drive to all shows within a 5 hr radius to see these guys 😊
Great work on this. Barber is easily my personal favorite vocalist in the scene. Will from Lorna is definitely the most incredible when it comes to range and control over his vocals... but Tom just has a certain groove that hits. I probably watch the live video of them doing Hostage in Las Vegas once a week, and Darko US is phenomenal as well.
As a die hard chelsea grin fan... the change with Tom was definitely hard to accept. Ive even got their Evolve EP artwork tattood on my arm. But it definitely grew on me and the fact they still perform Recreant live is amazing to me. I still have yet to see them live. Hopefully someday soon!!!
A few things worth noting, Pablo’s commitment was to tour with a country artist that he wanted to do some shows with, maybe the new band also had something to do with it, but following it at the time it seemed like Pablo wasn’t wanting to do the metal touring so much. Also Nathan Pearson didn’t record or write any of the drums for the “Suffer Duo”. That’s all computer drums that Stephen wrote.
Good Video, as always👍 But since you asked in the description, it's a bit slow in terms of editing, had the video on 1,25x speed Tom Barber is such a great artist, love/loved him in all his projects
Thank you !! Yes I'm aware it's a little slow.. it's more difficult for me to memorize everything in terms of informations and of course speaking in my second language while trying to be as natural as possible haha I think the more I'll do it, the more comfortable I'll be and I'll talk a little faster :)
I’ve met and hung out with Tom more than a few times, he’s always my favorite person to talk to. He loves his fans and what he does! I will go to any show they’re a part of!
The dude in the first interview is named Trenton Worsham. He's a buddy of mine, and also passionate about his journalism. Its cool seeing his work being used.
Thanks for the content. This was awesome! I'm a person who loves any band that can push the boundaries of music. I'm up for anything that is original, creative, experimental, etc. As a person who loves jazz and bebop music, such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Stan Getz, to 90s hardcore music, such as Earth Crisis, Merauder, Madball, and Vision of Disorder, to experimental music such as Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, The Melvins, and Dillinger Escape Plan, to groove metal such as Pantera, Prong, etc. I'm recently getting into death metal and deathcore. My biggest grip with deathcore is the lack of groove (even during the breakdowns), constant pig squeal noises (enough is enough), constant singing of "bleigh" (again, enough is enough), lack of signing, and clean vocals, and most of them sound the same. Can these bands come up with something different and more original other than the pig squeal noises and the signing of "Bleigh"? I find it annoying with the whole pig squeal noises and the whole "Bleigh" thing. Don't get me wrong, it's cool for the first couple of times, but holy crap, enough is enough. I don't get it. I'm not here to put down deathcore bands. I'm actually intrigued. There are a few bands that I like, such as Brand of Sacrifice, Darko US, etc. Is there any deathcore band that utilizes both clean and growling vocals, is not repetitive, and is groovy as f$$$? Up for suggestions! I'm going to give Chelsea Grim a try.
To be fair tho, David’s been there for over a decade, I’m pretty sure. Steven’s been there for close to it. Ik they’re not original members, but they were around for most of the biggest events in the CG Lore. I’m a huge Alex fan fs, no doubt, love his vocals..but I can’t lie, my fav CG Records, are Eternal Nightmare, and Suffer in heaven/Hell. All Tom records. Same goes for Lorna, I love Tom barber era Lorna but my fav Lorna record is Pain Remains, which is Will Ramos. I believe Tom Barber is the perfect fit for CG and Will Ramos is the perfect fit for Lorna. Pablo and Alex’s new band, Amenona slaps too! Check ‘em out if u haven’t heard them
14:20 I don't think Ameonna is the reason Pablo distanced himself from Chelsea Grin around 2021. I doubt he did just Ameonna for the last 3-4 years. AFAIK Pablo started touring with some country artist around that time.
I've been listening to them since 2007 and last year I saw them live for the first time on Graspop and it was amazing, really good band. It sucks Alex wasnt the singer tho but Tom did a really good job. So I am not complaining. By the way, I love that Oceano LP in the back, Quarantine is one of my favorite songs and thats a song on that album, very nice.
Pablo also has some connections as a drummer for a country singer. He was living it way bigger with them tbh so I feel like that’s what caused his slow departure

He said Chelsea Grin going back to their old sound like it's the same band from 2011.😂. It's not even the same band anymore. Not a single original members left.
Heres the facts folks, WIll Ramos made Lorna shore the huge headliner they are. Guess what, Tom Barber did the same with Chelsea grin. They both make each others band and sound. I am happy Tom left Lorna to chelsea. We would see the bands as we see it now
