I do like your fish tanks! I have four sponge filters, one medium and one small in both of my tanks. I can hear the "glop, glop" but it has never bothered me. Maybe after all these years I'm used to it. To eliminate my air pump noise, I have a large car washing sponge the pump lives on. It's larger that the pump, so even if it walks, the sponge hits the side of the cabinet first, keeping the air pump away from all objects. Take care.

    Your aquariums look amazing.
Where do you buy your plants as I am setting up a shallow 105 liter. I'm looking for a store that sells a good range of aquarium plants in Cape Town. I normally do black water, so I generally don't use plants, or I just use very little. Once again, great video 🎥

Thanks. I usually buy my plants from McMerwe but some also came from Pet World, Brackenfell Pets and Uponics. Mostly I just take plants from one tank and propagate in the next. After a point I didn't buy much.

Hello, I've used mini LED spotlights for my aquarium, the plants seem to be growing fine. I'm not sure if they are being a bit slow. Is there a reason other than aesthetics to use an aquarium light?

Other than aesthetics the reason is plant growth and so that the fish can go about their normal behaviour. My plants grow relatively slow-ish since I do not use CO2.

Will it help to cover the air pomp with thick elastic bands?

I've tried that, didn't work. The best is to put it in a cabinet, maybe on a mouse pad (or a sponge as advised in one of the comments above) if it vibrates and of course best is just to get a quiet one in the first place

@@droeksonfishkeeping ah! Or maybe these foam pads for tanks to absorb the vibration better
