@@juststill5932 I think a lot of people in Nigeria associate counselling with mental health issues and get very defensive just for suggesting something that is basically talking to someone about what you have been through. Same problem here in the UK when you tell African people to go and talk to someone, they will look at you as if you suggested something that is beneath them when in reality talking helps to deal with trauma. It doesn't even have to be a professional, it could be someone who has been through the same thing or a women's group sharing their experiences of how they dealt with it and listening to what you have been through.
