Me clicking this after listening to them for years: *interesting*
Can relate
Me clicking after listening for 1 year:😌
Same here 🤣 I just thought fuck it why not? 😝🤘
Same💀💀thought it was just me
Exactly ( but for me Its 2years)
Rip Joey he was the best drummer we didn’t deserve him❤️🤘
“what is slipknot?”
WUT I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT UR SAYING😡
“can you explain what slipknot is?”
yeah absolutely😌
one of the funniest starts to an interview i've ever seen
That was hilarious 🤣lmao
Hahahaha. Corey always acting a fool when not on stage, but yet, still serious when he needs to be. Lol.
She was asking "who is Slipknot" not "what is Slipknot"
@@Nate_M_PCMR thank you captain obvious. Tell us somethin we don't know
Been listening to them for 10+ years. Idk why I watched this lmao
Same lol.
Cause why not?
same
I know man. Been listening to then for 20 years and still love them as much as I did since Wait And Bleed!
Slipknot is an absolute anomaly. Absolutely crazy but extremely talented musicians. They captured lightning in a bottle; their music is a literal representation of an emotion called rage. Hate them or love them, they truly are once in a lifetime.
"Number 3 in percussion"
Chris' snare: *robolox dying sound*
shoutout to shawn, mick, corey, sid, and jim for stickin' out the whole way thru from the very start of the band 💪
This band is basically "no one cared till we put on the masked" in physical form.
I’m not a Slipknot fan and have never even listened to one single song of theirs, but they are just so weird and interesting and just… different and I need like an explanation video lmao so that’s why I’m watching this. As an outsider, idek how to explain them. They’re just so mysterious and very intriguing so I need the rundown of their history so far.
Well two months later, have you gone down the amazing rabbit hole?
same im just now getting into them & i immediately could tell they have a lot of lore that needs explaining so this video helped a lot 😭 extremely fascinated by them & love the few songs ive heard so far i can already feel them becoming a favorite band
@@readyaimfire3454 me too!!!!
R.I.P. Joey.
and paul
Their demos and their first two albums are some of my favourite works of art.
I don't listen to all the stuff that came after that anymore but I still consider them my favourite band.
I like Iowa
I'm pretty much the same way
Omg !! Me too
Same. Vol III I consider they're best work.
Crowz
Just yesterday I got obssesed with this band lol thank u so much
Welcome to the Maggot pit! 😃🤘🏻
Thanks for this! Just started getting into them, and I was pretty worried that I was too late, this video helped a ton! 😁
You can never be to late to become a fan of the 'Knot!
If you like something, wether slipknot or anything in general, you are never late to join, if you love sonething, jump right in!
Same
Its never too late, welcome to the maggot pit🖤
Thinking it's too late to do something is the one of the most poisonous things you can trick yourself into believing
i do miss the 2000's. was an awesome time to be young
i started listening to slipknot 7 months ago, they were the first band that i really liked. Sucks that i became a fan 20 years later, would’ve loved to see their improvements throughout the 20+ years they’ve been a band
I’ve known about Slipknot since I was 6 and I know so much about the band. But it is fun just hearing the same stories again
So my dad is a Metallica/ hard rock fan, should I take him to a slipknot concert even if he says it’s okay?
I guess it depends how open-minded he is, Slipknot is quite different but I imagine it wouldn't be too hard for him to get behind their singles/more popular songs. Never seen them myself but I'd think their performance on-stage alone would make it worthwhile!
I took my cousin because the tickets were super cheap. Shes more into drum and bass, Industrial and New Wave. It blew her away. She fell in love with the percussion. Shes not a hardcore fan, but she will never say no if I have a ticket for her. One of the other reasons she enjoyed it was because everyone was so nice. Slipknot promotes treating everyone like family if they love metal. So going to a concert means hanging with several thousand happy people.
My cousin actually disappeared for about an hour during the concert because she ended up hanging with a bunch of randos on the way to the beertent. It happens. lol
Im going to the Iowa Knotfest this year first time seeing them after wanting to for like 6 years😎
*YES*
Yes he should appreciate Slipknot. My wife grew up with Metallica, Maiden, Korn, Deftones, Slayer. For Valentine’s Day on the Iowa Tour I took her to the Show. We got to meet the entire band after the show. Joey was so cool. He brought us over to meet everyone. Paul was in his own world. Mick and Jim were joking back and forth. Joey went into the bus jumping back out with a bag of all sorts of Slipknot stuff. A limited press of their first album, a unique shirt that was not sold anywhere, he threw in drumsticks and guitar picks used from the show. They did say thanks for being a fan.
1:35 never gets old 🤣
Best band to come from the 90's. So glad i seen the rise.
This was very helpful thank you for this amazing video
My mom introduced me to slipknot when I was 11, thanks mom😎
Rip joey we will never forget your best drummer we ever have seen in the world and we will keep your music and name in are hearts
very good guide to slipknot :D there were many facts that I didnt know until now.
thanks
my best friend is obsessed with slipknot and im watching this so i can make jokes about it with her!!
thats so sweet
Awe it's sad that the bassist and drummer got to design the masks and the rest of the band was just like lol nah
their masks are incredibly similar too
Ya I feel like mask creativity would be a huge part of being a part of Slipknot
@@southpoundham after paul died their whole we're a family mentality just vanished. i love slipknot but compared to s/t they do somewhat feel like a brand now. the stories behind all the masks and the meanings and how they were all handmade with the few resources they had was a big part of the individuality and authenticity of slipknot in the beginning. now when we talk about the masks its more like haha corey taylor milk jug lololol
@@ninin117 i mean after losing someone so close it kills you inside, i mean Corey still deals with Paul's death today so it makes sense why he doesn't want to bring up the family mentality after losing someone he considered a brother.
I mean the new members eventually will get their spotlight and will be accepted in once the next album comes in-
I do understand the brand thing, but most bands are like that, it just happens when you want to capitalize on your work.
I mean they have worked for around 20 years in slipknot so its reasonable.
R.i.p Joey.
thank you chungus
@@905Review your welcome.
Heaven just gained a kickass drummer.
Love the little extra at the end there
Very well made video!! This would be a very well intro to people that haven’t listened or seen this band before. Great video!
Amazing video dude. Thanks for the hard work and commitment 🤘
This was well done! Keep up the great work
loved every second of it. thank you
Great job. Exactly the amount of information I could handle. A perfect outline
thank you for this! I started to listen to slipknot some time ago and i'm glad yo find out more about them
This is good vid man i enjoyed it keep up the good work
Great video been lovin this style of videos lately
Who else is watching this and all ready knows the story of the knot?
I know all of this and I still enjoyed this soo much.
I'm happy I got introduced to Slipknot at the age of 2 🤘🏻💯 thanks to my dad nd uncles!
Great video. Thank you!😊
Amazing documentary. 👏
This was awesome Dude. Very well done.. You should maybe add to it over time, like when the new album comes out & the release of Corey's zombie movie, etc. 🤘✌
i really need death metal these days so if it's not to late im definitely join the fandom
Rest in peace Joey
rip joey
you’re gay
@@extrememetaldonnie8715 yes i am
I’ve been a fan since 2011, vid really is something
Thanks. I'm just getting into Slipknot and similar music
You can't have a fine rock band without "even more guitar".
I got into these guys late via Stone Sour, and loving them ever since. It still feels new & exciting to me, but I'm saddened by the band member losses!
There is no beginning. Only instant perfection! Followed them that long it's damn nearly religious!
This is awesome man thanks
Iowa is the hardest and best metal album ever released hands down!
i wouldn't say best of all time but it's definitely at least top 15 imo
great video man, do more!!!
Thank you! Plan on having the next one up in 4 weeks
I’ve been there since day 1. I was 11 years old when the debut hit. They’ve been my favorite band ever since. There’s nobody like them, and there never will be.
I love how they describe the Iowa years as the worst in the band’s history. That made for the best years in the band’s history. The masks, the suits, etc. Nothing beats that era. Hands down my favorite metal album ever recorded.
Really good introduction to the band ;))
Great video
Very interesting!
why am I here I've been a fan for so long lmao
Amazing video man
Great vid
Im gonna join the band one day i swear
I love this
Nice work
Well, new album incoming mate! Time to get to it. Also agreeing with the highest liked comment.
Good video man!!!
Slipknot always paralleled my music experience with Pissing Razors out of El Paso.
The musical talent is similar with percussion driving the attitude.
perfect.
I've been listening for like 10 years and digging their new song "the chapeltown rag", dunno why i clicked this 😅🤣
great video bro
Good job !
great video
seein these guys next week i’m so fucking excited 🤘
Hope it's a killer show!
Idk why I’m watching this I’ve been a fan for 7 years, good video though
R.I.P Joey. We miss you.
Not a bad little essay 👍
Slipknot aint really for me, but very informative video, a lot of fun to watch
Long live Slipknot.
#6 on beer kegs...
Never the same without #1, #2, #3, and #5
when I first started listening to metal I said to myself that i'm probably just going to stick with metallica, iron maiden and such. Bands like Slipknot were to satanic and heavy. Now one year later I basically only listen to Slipknot.
They have satanic symbolism at points but the band themselves don't believe in that crap. It's more just to scare parents and to be edgy Corey more or less said so much about Iowa. Iowa was a crazy period for them and they have thankfully gotten out of that faze with reportedly the only member still doing harder drugs being the dj
I don't know why, i think becoz im stupid or something but i found out about slipknot last week and all these years i didn't knew they existed...i loved pulse of the maggots, duality, wait and bleed, people equal shit. I am slowly gonna devour all their songs but are there any i should listen first?
A "beginners guide" to slipknot... there's no such thing as a "beginners guide" when it comes to the Knot.
not including, MFKR.... I still love the first 2 albums, never was able to get into anything after Iowa though 😕
Thanks bro
I gotchu
My friends
12:14 They did not briefly "break up" following the album. They finished the .5 album cycle, and took a break before starting to record for WANYK. A break or hiatus following a cycle is not the same as "briefly breaking up".
do converge next!!
Forgot the Mate Feed Kill Repeat era
*so funny haha, this is meat eye intriguing hand :) xD*
rip paul
he was a great bassist
umm...is it normal that I've been listening for 5 months and I learned their names, numbers, instruments, about 21 songs without lyrics, I know their history and how it started, I know a little about every member's life...is it normal?!
Been down since 99 here for shits and giggles
2:45 DEFTONS LOL
The Vol.3 album was the only way for Slipknot to enter the "mainstream" music.
I’m here because Iowa (the state not album)
"No one knows what you're saying Sid"
Sid: huhnuhnunuh hnmunhun numunumh
Great job! Anthrax next
The Fuck You Only At 560 This Is The Best Thing I Have Ever Seen!
haha thank you brother!
Man the music is sometimes so low in the background that we cannot hear you!
1. Almost all their lyrics were wrote from 1996-2001, taken from the Manson forums.
