Check out the Blackwater Park, Still Life or Ghost Reveries albums by Opeth for the same duality of soft and heavy. Mikael Akerfeldt in his heyday had an even more demonic sounding voice in some cases and then would convert to lullaby-like vocal melodies while playing guitar at the same time.

This is how I found out Slipknot. When I had a party home at my uncle my dad played a slipknot song and I was scared for their masks (I was 6 yrs ) but one day my Dad was going to take a shower and when he was in the shower I sneaky played this song (my parents told me to not watch on Slipknot) if I didn’t play this song when my Dad was in the shower I would not sit here and headbang to this song. My dad passed away when I was 7 yrs old he passed away from cancer keep rocking in heaven dad!😢
