I have a feeling he wasn’t overly fussy about intonation. You can hear certain songs with his Hofner where the intonation is rather dodgy.

I don't think there was any orchestration on Michelle. Just the brilliant harmonies by John, Paul and George, and some guitar overdubs. That's it, and everything was recorded in just one day, on November 3rd, 1965.
