- The New Mexican Rockies are a hikers paradise, you get all the same beauty of the Colorado rockies with a fraction of the crowds. This video features Santa Fe Baldy which is an iconic peak located just outside of the well-known city of Santa Fe. Also this video features Jicarita peak which is a lesser known peak in one of the most stunning areas in the New Mexican Rockies (with views of the Truchas Range: the Thumbnail of this video); the summit almost always has mountain goats present. Enjoy the Video, sorry for the long pause in uploads; expect one a week from now on!

Cool video Jack! Way to far up for me so I’m glad to see it. Looks like the moon!
Love that area. Great video!
Thank you very much! I got more coming out shortly
Oh wow, I was thinking of heading out this way soon! I just bagged Chimayosos on Thurs. Did you need any traction or flotation devices? I just used microspikes at the SB Divide but I'd imagine you didn't need anything based on what I'm seeing in the video.
Used Microspikes on my climb up the south sister in Oregon, that vid should be coming out anytime soon. Chimayosos is a beautiful peak, but sadly as an AZ local I unable to get out there much to bag all the beautiful peaks New Mexico has to offer. I 100% recommend Jicarita, just be prepared for mud if you attempt in the summer months (:
@@thenaturalexperience2140 well I was thinking of doing it in December as a snow shoe. I'm trying to bag the top 10 peaks in NM. This would be peak #5.
@@PeakExplorerMatt That seems like a great pursuit man, personally I love all hiking peaks, canyons, desert strolls etc; so my goal is all the NPs, i'm currently 1/3 of the way done. But I am definitely coming back to NM to do Truchas Peak in the Summer
