    I went from 380 pounds down to 175 pounds and have kept my weight steady since I had the surgery in 2020. It’s not an easy way out but it definitely works if you have the willpower to follow through with it.

    Great video. I am 5 days post op, I had the sleeve gastrectomy surgery. I was a bit nervous about the surgery but afterwards I told my wife what was I nervous about? Very smooth process, and minimal pain. Alot easier than a knee surgery which I had 3 in my lifetime. I was in the hospital for 2 nights and after 2 days at home, I was cleaning the house with no heavy lifting.

      @@sabikaabid1734 In my opinion, after the operation it is impossible to continue with the same eating habits, it is physically impossible and you get used to eating what you really need and eventually you can eat everything. For what I have been told is important to be careful with fizzy drinks, gas inflates the stomach and little by little it can make it bigger, which will make you eat more to satisfy yourself.

    Even though I've been trying to lose weight for years, I realized that I couldn't do it without surgery. I live in the USA and unfortunately my financial situation is not good enough to receive treatment here. That's why I decided to get treatment in a different country. It was impossible for me to pay 12.000€ here. Instead I found a clinic in Turkey. Slimmer and fitter. I got a very successful result. The cost of treatment is only 2500€. At this price they picked me up from the airport and made me stay at the hotel. I am very satisfied with the result and would recommend it to you as well.

      I was up to 290 a size 52 in the waist and my doctor told me I was diabetic. Was on insulin and metformin for a while. Got down to 175. That metformin washes you OUT! Got my sugar under control for the most part changing my diet big time and just trying to stay active. Walking spending time with my son with Trail Life and riding our bikes on trails during 2020 (live in a Republican state)... my wife has been stressing me out so I'm around 200 - 205... BUT I've been maintaining my weight. The holidays can hurt. Off the insulin for over a year. Was off the Metformin for a year (but back on it.) 2021 has been very depressing in many ways and that stressing has put a little weight back on. Like I said I'm now around 205... just watch your PORTIONS. Drink WATER. Drop off your SUGAR intake and just stay active doing things that not just NEED to be done but stay active for recreation. Just like this video says.... after surgery START WALKING. I say skip the surgery and START WALKING!! Don't be slothful letting everyone do everything FOR you that YOU need to get done.

      It happens and its reactive to what you eat or drink and less because of the surgery if you know what I mean. Your body is adapting to it being different, for better or worse only time will tell.
      If it becomes frequent get a consult before going in, dont let your panic or paranoia win.
      If it's not too much, wait a few days and see if it does become frequent or other systems arise and be cautious or aware rather than scared or anxious.
      This is completely anecdotal as I'm seeing how my mom is going through it and learning what I can ya know. So when in doubt get a consult lol godspeed my friend.

    Does weight loss surgery have a death chance?

    • @vickyk.m9596
      @vickyk.m9596 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes however very low chances. The bariatric team is very thorough in making sure you are approved to have surgery. They look at all your cormobidities and have you do sleep study test to see if you have any obstructive sleep apnea and such. These issues are taken care of before hand to ensure that there aren't any surprises once your surgery day comes. They will do pre- op labs to see if you have H- pylori that can cause you to have ulcers. My entire journey took about 9months from deciding to have surgery, attending seminars on zoom, 5 visits with a dietician, physiology and what slowed me down was the need to have CPAP for 3 months before surgery. The way I look at it is that they left no stone unturned. Hope this helps don't lose hope.

    What is the goal of this surgery? To eat less.
    Can you eat less even without surgery? Yes.
    There are several ways to trick your mind to eat less. Eating low GI food, high fibre and whole grain makes you feel full longer. Drinking plain water instead of sugary drinks avoids you from thirst. Eating less spicy food avoids you from craving for sweets.
    So folks, think hard before doing this surgery. It involves making *permanent* changes to your body. You'll run the risk of being malnutrition. I'd rather have a mental surgery instead of a physical one.

    That was confusing.... why couldn't he change his habits to what his after surgery plan BEFORE the surgery to not have it? At the front he said he tried all the diets and even working out... yet at the end he said to stay active and exercise... what's so magical about the surgery that MAKES a person active if the surgery itself doesn't magically the weight off? It sounds like we should all stay active, eat better, get your protein and water in and get regular exercise....

      @Kayla yes. Her stomach is now about the size of a banana. It can expand a little. Has the sleeve. She has to drink nothing but a liquid diet for about 2 or more weeks.... we are going through this NOW. Her doctor told her to be walking her pain off... she still (after 18 years of coming home and sitting on her butt....) has had this surgery and still sitting on her butt. She DOES look better. She's hoping to lose MORE weight saying she has just 25 lbs left to lose to get to her target. But she wasn't very mobile before and she's not any more mobile now. I didn't want her to get this surgery I just her moving more. Before or after... her habits haven't changed much. Her diet has because of the surgery... but as a husband I had sympathy pains during her 2 pregnancies. And I'm having them again NOW (sympathy pains not kids).... and my heart can't take much more of this. And I feel like it's setting a dangerous precedent with our kids. They look up to HER as their savior as she has my tongue tied in knots as I'm not allowed to say any truth under my own roof nor challenge my kids about their habits or lifestyles at ALL. She's in control, she's manipulated this all. And she complains about my son eating too much sweets and I'm concerned about my daughter not leaving her room for the past 5 to 6 years and she may now have POTS. And getting SUN is a major part of that as I make lunches, dinners, deal with trash and cleaning when I can, dishes, and yard, car and house maintenance whenever I have time and sunlight to do it.... I am the mother and father of this family but she sits in the throne. Queen headstrong does what she wants, gets whatever she wants NOW.... and like I said. The kids worship her because she can get away with doing close to nothing .... and both my kids are lazy bums and doing any simple work is just...."oh just too menial to bother with" or some other excuse. There is always an excuse. And despite my wife's bad knee.... which she didn't walk much after THAT surgery either years ago (which may not have helped her healing process either)... she can get around but she doesn't want to because why not when I can do it. 18 plus years of this.... 18.

While it may assist with short term weight loss, bariatric surgery is like cutting out part of your thinking and feeling brain. Both of the individuals I know have lost their sense of empathy, have no regard for others, and have become increasingly selfish. There are studies that show the relationship between your gut and your brain. Check them out before making such a drastic decision.
