I passed through DVI reception first term in 2003 the year “The Zoo” went off, 2005 OTC, 2008 twice back to back violations mainlined 6 mo, and 2010 reception.

I remember the C-Wing shower stabbing at 36:16 in this video. It was inmate Anthony Kikume that stabbed an inmate named Johnson in the third-tier shower. An officer saw Kikume jump over the railing from the third to second tier. The Officer went to investigate and found Johnson bleeding to death in the shower. I knew both inmates from working as an S&E on second watch. They both worked in the a.m. culinary. Evidently Johnson had some smut on him from SQ and Kikume did the hit. I interviewed "Big Mike" Thompson back in 1997 when he was at Corcoran PHU over some issues. He told me some stories about his time at DVI, but they were different from what he's saying now. He was involved in the baseball bat beatings on the NF on the yard but didn't mention anything about taking on seven NF inmates in the chapel because he knew I would call BS. He told me the story of how the AB were able to smuggle a .38 revolver from the DVI dairy into the fieldhouse. Thompson said the plan was to get it down into J-Wing to "cap blacks." Someone ratted and the gun was found hidden in the fieldhouse. I retired from DVI as a Lt after 26 years; 1984-2010, and knew John well. Good interview and it brings back memories.

Was there for reception Oct 19' to Jan 20' F wing. Saw some shit. Closed it in 21' my cellmate hung himself. The conditions where not livable for some.

The reason why there was no Nortenos on the yard and it was mostly Surenos, because the PRISON officials didn’t want them there. Not because anything the SouthSiders did.

You’re right and I respect your stance on this topic. My comment was mainly for those that think the SS don’t allow Nortenos are certain yards, in some cases it’s true. But for the most part it’s the Administration that doesn’t allow Nortenos.
Nortenos have hearts of lions and definitely the most hated.

Was there on the 3rd quarter of 98 to 3rd quarter of 2021. Transpact to a 180 from there. Shit was real. I remember them letting us play full contact football agint the others on the yard. First C.O names that come to mind Zicker and female C.O Warren.

Red rages was removed from Tracy in 1983 because of the killing of a Crip in the gym, but the administration done a lot of file stuff if you was a none affiliated inmate if they put you in a cell with a Crip or blood they would label you as a Crip or blood. I was there from 1982-1986. There was only one Northern Mexican on the yard at that time , but the White dude was killed in the 2rd floor shower, but a Southerner was killed in 1982 by Notherner's in front of the education building it was on anybody claims that they took on seven Notherner's by himself he's a fabrication walking, and I remember it was about 7 or 8 Notherner's, but they were not staying long the southerners wouldn't allow it they take care of business after they see how many they're.

What prison where you at in 82? I can assure you there was more than 7 Northerners in Tracy during 82

I got lock up in 1981 I was 19yrs old I didn't hit Tracy until 82 my first time I didn't know everyone I didn't know all members it was never my business, but I agree that it was more for sure if you was then must respect to you at that time I was learning the system with a life sentence I did 36yrs , but it was a real experience it was a lot of crazy that I had to learn , but I had good experiences as well it prepared me for later on.
