Im glad that you discovered them. They are the First Korean Idol band debuted in 2007. Originally they have 5 people in the group. So FTISLAND comes from Five treasure island. They have been through a lot in 2019 and lost 2 guitarists. However they’re still going strong as they have royal friends. At the beginning of the debut, they were very famous, swept the chart and won all the rookies awards. Their peak era was probably during 2007-2013 periods with ballads and pop songs. Then in 2015 they changed their genre to be more Rock as it was the genre that they always wanted to do, their popularity decreased. But it seems to me that with being almost 18 years in the industry, they dont care any more as long as they still have their fans, can hold concerts and do what they want. Korean already considered them as legend Recommend “killing voice” as you can see how their style has changed over time. All the song in that video are popular in Korea. They were also very popular in Japan, they were the international band that top the origon chart in 42 years history and able to hold large scale like arenas at that time. Their Japanese were more rock vibe. I recommend “shadow”, beautiful” and anime ost “theory of happiness” Lee Hongki the vocalist of group is also praised as national treasure voice due to the raspy tone and powerful. He is very popular, he is a friend of every celebrity. He has his own youtube channel called “Hongki Jongki” that he usually covers song with other FTisland members and his cover goes viral in Korean quite often. Dont forget to check it out.
They were the main stream group along with dance groups during the golden era of kpop. They had a tour in america in 2012, europe in 2015 and 2017. This is their recent cover in Hongki’s channel. th-cam.com/video/tI07ctFTxg4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fQlwfhtDtBcIAG1X
