Thank you for sharing your process. Beautiful work. I invested in some encaustic materials but found it difficult and only produced one piece that I liked. I may dig out the ones I rejected and redo!
Hi Gayle yes encaustic can be challenging for sure, especially with small pieces. It’s kinda where I started with painting so I didn’t really know any better lol. I fell in love with the medium but went on to learn other mediums all with the aim to make my encaustic painting better! Don’t scrape your rejects bare...just melt them down and layer on top. Sometimes that history makes for interesting backgrounds:).
@@cindyjamesartstudio Thanks Cindy. I think I'll do just that. I'm currently learning watercolor, and have made some progress, so we'll see if that helps.
Hi Bill I think I just didn’t pack it securely enough. Perhaps there was still some movement within the box. Now I use insulated bubble wrap and pack a lot of paper in there to hold it in place. No problems since then so fingers crossed ! I had never shipped a painting in winter before then and this damaged piece was shipped when it was -25 Celsius. Maybe it was left in a cold postal truck. Now I mark it Do Not Freeze as well. Still makes me nervous tho lol
@@cindyjamesartstudio The unexpected shipping surprises. I’m very grateful to find your encaustic videos. I’ve been learning encaustic by trial and error over the last few years with some success. I’m inspired by you to now try layering some of my art drawings. I had no idea that inkjet printing can work, along with watercolor pigments. Your artwork has such vibrancy.
@@billjacobson5997 that’s great Bill. Keep going. Some ppl have had success with ink jet transfers but in my demo I used a colour laser print. Anything photocopied will work. I used to go to staples for a colour laser print but I bought a new printer at Costco a while ago so now I can print at home. Good luck :)
very good my friend bitiful takipteyim zil acik
You are the best encaustic artist I’ve seen, this is so amazing! Please post more!
hehe...that is very kind Olga...I'm still learning. There is no end to what you can learn to do with encaustic!

Nice job. Interesting video!
Thank you very much!
So beautiful! Do you work on a hot plate?
Thank you. Yes I do use a hot plate for melting and mixing colours 🙂
Really nice. Thank you for sharing the process. Do you have some suggestions on what not to do with shipping to avoid damage?

@@cindyjamesartstudio Oh, good to know. I have a b/w laser so I’ll give that a try then try painting and fusing. Wonderful help. Thank you!
My pleasure:)
