Kind of what I enjoyed about the playing of Norman Blake,he was quite the tasty player, going for tone and style as opposed to being a speed demon...

What a fine instrument and someone that isnt just running lines. Actual play and strumming. Demonstrating how good this guitar sounds. Its phenomenal.

Fair enough and it does sound great, but if Norman thought so it wouldn't be for sale would it?

@@tomokra …Tony told me that Norman had to sell the guitar to Mac Yasuda for financial reasons. Things happen.

One of the best. Tony told me after his old D-28, that Norman's and Eric Thompson's early 1940's D-28 was his other 2 favorite guitars. Tony really wanted to buy this guitar but it didn't work out for it to be.

My dad was born in 1934 and he has weathered many great and terrible storms in his life. Like this guitar he shows the stress and wear from the years, but also like this guitar there is such beauty that comes from the instrument which God has brought him to be.

Kenny, that was spectacular! You're always good and play such sensitive licks and tones, but this version of Ashokan Farewell was one of the best I've ever heard. That drop D was perfection on Norman's old guitar. Beautiful, brother!

Absolutely beautifully played and sounding guitar. It's a shame that only the very wealthy collectors can attain these amazing pieces of music history. Which will most likely silence them from the rest of the world to hear.
