    People focus too much on Prices (keep this in mind), Regardless how much you paid for it, "It'll Be A Great Price," You Won. Enjoy your Vacations and focus on the Beauty of the Place and the time with your Beautiful Partner... ❤

    Jose, Spot on...I am a resident of Mexico and born in the USA. I speak both English and Spanish. Come here as a tourist/snowbird you are ripe for the picking ! Is your fault if you get ripped off.. I do not buy anything, UNLESS I CAN STEAL IT !!!!

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No need to steal when so many are willing to just give their money away. Thanks for sharing!

      @@JoseArteagaTravels Jose, It is a way to say I want a good price or I do not buy . Just to go a little bit further on this...I have been living here on the coast in SW Mexico for almost 7 years and am a resident and speak Spanish and English. The Mexicans know I am a Gringo and I understand that they think we are an easy mark and they will never see us again. You order Mahi-Mahi and receive Marlin, order Jose Cuervo and get some cheap brand and to make it worse the bill is wrote out in pencil with only a total and when you question it you find out they added in a few extra items and the waiters tip. Next they tell you the y cannot accept your credit card and only can pay by cash. You pay in cash and the waiter never comes back with the change. Many tricks and ways to cheat the customer without the unsuspecting Gringo to know. Holding the rental car or apartment deposit for 30 or 60 days or forever ! No prices on the items in the stores or the cashier charges you three times what the real price is or twice for the same item . You hear Gringo go home or go back where you came from ! These people are dishonest and they have no problem screwing you over.

    Mexico is like a Huge Beautiful Swapmeet or Yard sale (I mean that as a Big Compliment), the Prices go up and down depending on who you are. Some People (Sweet Talkers, Bargain Makers, Socials, Locals, etc.) can get Great Prices, if you play your cards right (Other than in Big Box Stores)...

    Same here in Guatemala. today I bought a phone cover that is widely available and is sold for 10Q.. Just because I couldn't find the right one for my phone this week, I was happy to find one in one store. No surprise he wanted 15Q instead of the usual 10Q.
    I knew I was gringo priced because the guy had to tell the cashier how much I was paying.

      @JoseArteagaTravels  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah you make a great point thats how you really know. Sometimes if something like that happens to me I leave and send my wife and have her purchase it and about 50% of the time I was in fact about to get gringo priced. Thanks for sharing!

    I have never seen the Gringo tax. But I only buy things where people know my wife. But there are times when someone charges me so little for something that I feel guilty.

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that also happens a lot where you get charged so little on something that you actually do feel guilty for it being such a low price. Thanks for sharing with us!

    The same reason why airlines and hotels don't have a fixed price, whatever they can get away with is the price.

  • @J.PaulLucas

    Should you ask the rental price in pesos?

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes always in Pesos unless you are in an area of Mexico close to the border or if its a place like Cancun where Dollars are accepted. But just as I mentioned earlier anything quoted in US Dollars will always be more expensive than if it is priced in pesos.

    It is very difficult to learn a language especially when you were not raised in a Mexican house hold.

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Languages are not the same for everyone. Some people have more difficulty than others in learning a new language. But as you said the best way to fully and truly understand everything is to grow up in a household where Spanish was always spoken. Thanks for sharing
