great video!! i absolutely love phish, and seeing new folks enjoy what they hear makes me quite happy because i know they’re getting what i’m getting :))
This song is just pure bliss to me. When I’m feeling down or lost, listening to Divided Sky is like hitting a reset button. One of the most beautiful compositions ever, IMO.
I was there. I was 19 years and we jumped in the car and drove from Long Island up to Plattsburgh NY. It was a life changing experience for me. Can’t really put it into words.
My son was ten months old and my wife and I took him to his first festival. The subsequent limestone shows were amazing but this was the first. I have so many wonderful memories of Clifford. Any one out there who went remember the traffic getting in?
Or getting out!! We got lucky, so it took 'only' half an hour to get out. There was a pic in the newspapers the next day of a kid sitting on his car in an empty lot because he lost his keys. He was waiting for his dad to come with spare keys. A 7 hours drive if I recall.
@@cshubs It was miserable getting home. I lived in Vermont at the time and my hair was down to my ass. I had gotten so sunburned that my hair kept sticking to my burn waiting in that God awful mess. Still one of the best times of my life.
Yes indeed. I remember waiting hours to get out. We finally got out and we were starving. While driving down the Thruway I witnessed a guy on a Harley crash right next me. We stopped to try and help him but there was nothing we could do. Insane weekend.
Im sure you recall mailing away for tickets. You had to buy a cashier's check for each show you wanted, and you might not get tix! They'd send back the cashier's check.
@@cshubs I definitely did mail a few times (like the horde festival they played in....93 I think). But back then most shows were still east coast so I'd just go to the theater (like the beacon run in NYC) or ticketmaster.
@@cshubs i ordered for 97 summer tour and I forgot to sign the postal money orders. I ended up finding the lady whole stole them and got my money back. It was kind of my fault but she didn’t have to take them all and cash them in. I drove to Burlington VT to go to small claims court. Stopped in Nectars while I was there.
Hey Teez! Thanks for the reaction vids. As a random FYI, this crowd was, no joke, something like the 7th largest “city” in the state of New York at the time of the concert. Somewhere around 75,000 people. Phish’s first festival, the Clifford Ball.
I still can't believe I had to miss this show for my cousin's wedding. I'm glad he's still married, or else I'd really be pissed about missing this show. ♥
I'd say 94-97, but that's because I saw a bunch of Northeast 94 shows, then hopped on tour from Fall 95 till Big Cypress. I saw the steady decline after Fall 98. Winter 99 was just too much for me. I had to bail
Phish was a favorite band of Matisyahu. Check out his song Step Out Into the Light. Different style but he was also going for a freewheeling, live vibe with a lot of atmosphere. Message is there too!!!
All those 80,000 people were there just to see Phish play 6 sets of music over two days, at a de-commissioned Air Force base way up in the butt-crack of upstate NY. Don't get much better than this my friend, my friend :-)
@@rexxx4fun if we're taking about Halloween 94 we should probably be talking about the white album. I mean remain in light is cool. So is quadraphenia. But the frigging white album.
@@earthychef We got lucky because we found ourselves in a stream of cars that got out quickly. Did you see the picture on the front page of the local paper of the kid waiting by his car? He lost his keys and was waiting for his dad to drive EIGHT hours to bring him spare keys.
I heard that the drummer Jon Fishman had a bet with the rest of the band that if they ever made it big he would wear a dress at every show. Well, they made it and he's just keeping his end of the deal. He's been wearing that dress for probably 30 years now 😂
These guys rock like no other!!! They have a great sense of humor!! Love Phish. You will be further impressed with their live stuff when you listen to the album version!!!👍✌😎
We got it to work in Montreal. I saw one of their shows (I think it was this tour) at The Spectrum, a club big enough to not be a bar, kind of a theatre/bar. It was a great venue, and they did one of their Barber Shop acappella numbers. That could have been one of the last times, because they did it in silence, and shows got too big after that point.
@@TheOriginalFILIBUSTA I think I went to that venue when I was in Montreal. It has a wraparound balcony I think. I remember when Phish played there in 93-94. Must have been cool.

nothing like a truly amazing Divided Sky
When the sky opens up and starts pouring during Divided Sky, its a meant to be moment. This was one of my very first shows ever
I was there. Good times!
What up Teez. Just found your channel through this reaction and subscribed because of it. Great stuff my brother! Be well ✌️
Appreciate you Brian, thank you for the support fam 💯🔥

That boy is in a euphoric state 😂😂😂😂I’m dying they is jamming tho
I don't believe I've seen you do any phish. Food for thought good sir.
Leo you gotta start reacting to some Phish and Grateful Dead, my man!
It’s a treat to review 😂😂😂
lmaoooooo

And the drummer has been wearing that moo moo for the last thirty years or so. It’s damn comfy.

My Favorite Phish song!
Thank you for doing PHISH. Great reaction.
great reaction. keep the phish coming
Did anybody here used to have "Doniac Schvice" delivered to their house?
Yes!!!! And they spelled my name wrong. I signed up for it at a show in PA at a place called the Mann music theater.

And that’s why 100,000 people show up in a field to see only phish play 9 sets overs a weekend. We all lost our goddamn mind a long time ago.
25 years later, I'm STILL upside down. ❤
I've lost many a thing at Phish shows.
My mind was definitely one of them and my sense of reality was another. ✌️
The 1.6 before Divided Sky means that it's the sixth song of the first set.
The song name is just Divided Sky.

'95 through 97, maybe 98 as well, was the pinnacle of live Phish, IMO.

I've seen 20 phish shows and as far as any music this is in my top 5 of all time
Clifford Ball was when Phish came to play my hometown ;)

He's got a knife
It was a life changing experience for me. I’ll never forget.
The Divided Sky at Alpharetta during the rain storm was a really good one too
Now you need to watch 3 or 4 other performances of the same song. Every time is a little different. 10.31.94 is my personal favorite
I was at that show. Glenn's falls Halloween and the white album
As one who was in attendance for that rendition, I would agree. Though the Reba from that magical night might have taken the cake.

One of the best weekends of my life. Except for the 9 hours in the parking lot trying to leave....

Clifford Ball was the crest of a wave.
A beacon of light in a world of flight :-)

Me 2, twas epic
Plattsburgh NY was so much closer than limestone Maine
If I recall the sky was divided during this song
@@maine420grow sure was.
One Six Divided Sky !!
1.6 is the set/song # The song is Divided Sky.
Simple but with lush undertones 🎶 Haven't heard all their music, but this is an earlier one. That crowd says it all....
That's a lot of damn people. Imagine playing that.
Teez, what was your first Phish song?
I have no idea lmaooooo
I’ll research and find out
I heard that the drummer Jon Fishman had a bet with the rest of the band that if they ever made it big he would wear a dress at every show. Well, they made it and he's just keeping his end of the deal. He's been wearing that dress for probably 30 years now 😂
Nothing like hearing the roaring crowd knowing your there! Such a surreal experience I hope you get one day!
That was at a phish festival all those people just to hear phish
He's looking at the divided sky. This was right at sunset
There’s not many bands that could write silence into a piece of music and pull it off. Big Red is a true Jedi

haha, John Fishman on drums " over there lookin like somebody's mama" haha.

neckbeard and a dress, what more could you ask for in a band. skyscrapers?
What is a band without skyscrapers?! ;-)

Only Phish would build a song with a tremendous pause in the middle!
Back in the day, that pause was an invitation for the room to become perfectly silent... it rarely worked.

Just so you know, each day of the three day event, the show started at 4:20 pm.
