      Ming is like all of us. I don't think very many people would be genuinely happy to get an unexpected visit from their families. Don't get me wrong, I love my family, but if I got an unexpected visit from them I'd be feeling a variety of different emotions, all of them not very good. I probably haven't had a chance to shower yet, brush my teeth/rinse my mouth, and I definitely haven't gotten a chance to entirely clean my house/freshen it up and so on.

    My mom's reaction to this scene was intense, when she was in the 1st grade she had a Chinese friend and when she went to her house, her friend's mom and grandma shoved food directly into her mouth as she tried to say hello. It was her fist time trying shrimp and pork (we are Jewish we are not supposed to eat those, at least we are not kosher). She just kept screaming "THEY DO THAT THEY DO THAT" and pointing at the screen.

    I'm kind of interested at how they all recoiled when they mentioned Ming's panda. Is it just unnaturally giant and savage???
    I've heard theories that the reason why her panda was so big was because she was going though such a traumatic moment and the panda's size and strength are relative to the situation since it was supposed to be used to defend entire towns and villages, but the way they all still flinched at the mention of it makes me wonder if it's just naturally much bigger and stronger than the other pandas.

    • @kitakoproductions8894
      @kitakoproductions8894 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I want to say that it's that sized naturally because we've seen Mei Mei turn into the Panda when she's happy but also when she's extremely angry and her panda size is consistent.
      However when it's revealed how big Ming's Panda is and that she attacked her mother in a fit of rage, it's amazing her mother escaped with only a cut across the eye. I want to say Ming's Panda is abnormally large but not to where it was at the end of the movie.
      It's truly no wonder Ming is horrified of the Panda given how badly it affected her growing up and most likely damaged her relationship with her mother even further after the incident.

    Turning Red is extremely underrated, in my opinion. As a kid, I've always been a huge Pixar fan, but I mostly preferred Pixar's old classics from the 90s and 2000s, which includes the Toy Story franchise, A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up, and Cars (my favorite Pixar movie of all-time). I'm not usually a fan of Pixar's newer movies, and I hated Luca, but a few days ago, I actually watched Turning Red for the first time, and it was actually a great movie! I couldn't believe I actually enjoyed it that much! I thought it was hard to believe that Turning Red was that great, but I love it! It's a fun and absolutely adorable movie! I love Mei and her friends, I love the animation, I love the original concept, and it overall feels like a Pixar movie that should've came out a long time ago (especially during the John Lasseter era). While I'm still annoyed about John Ratzenberger's absence and the fact that that John Lasseter and the other Pixar employees don't voice any characters in their recent movies anymore, I decided to look on the bright side when it comes to Pixar's new movies! I'm excited about Lightyear being out in theaters, and I love Turning Red so much! It's one of my favorite animated movies from 2022! No doubt about it!

    According to the Disney & Pixar wikis, even though Helen (comb aunt) & Lily (earring aunt) are called "aunties," they are Mei's second cousins while Peng (broche aunt) & Chen (ring aunt) are Ming's sisters.....
    Yeah, I don't think so.😕
    To me, Chen & Peng are Wu's sisters (making them Ming's aunts & Mei's great aunts), while Helen & Lily are Ming's sisters (Helen being the elder sister, Ming being the middle child, and Lily being the younger sister).
    *Ming being the middle child of three sisters would definitely make a lot of sense why her red panda form is so huge, with a lot of pressure put upon her.

      Why wouldn't it make sense? For now, we don't know who's the oldest daughter among Chen, Ping, and Ming with Wu as their mother. Lily is Aunt Ping's daughter. Plus this is common in big families. They're cousins yes but sometimes if there's a big age gap between them, it feels more comfortable to call them uncle or aunt instead of cousin especially if they have their own families. Even Lily has her daughter, Vivian.
