re: driving test - thanks for letting me know your countries do that too! i guess that was a bad example 🥲 i was just tired of the classes being so obsessed with the test without actually teaching things i felt were important like paying attention to other drivers (we never really learned about merging, switching lanes, etc) and being told i didnt turn my emergency flashers on fast enough over and over was the final straw 😂 but i learned something new so thank you!!
As a fellow INFJ, I tend to listen and converse with my fellow INFJ. It is just we can talk with a certain depth with words but I can feel peace at the same time. This is the reason why I love listening and watching Cari's videos. I love love your channel
so tanghulu is originally a chinese snack, and it's traditionally made with this chinese native fruit called hawthorn berry! they're small and kind of look like tiny apples and are a bit sour and a bit bitter. that's why it's covered in sugar :) i LOVE tanghulu when it's made the traditional way but i agree i'd also rather have good strawberries on their own!
I just found out you're an INFJ. I am, as well. No wonder I love watching your videos. Our interests always seem to align! I hear that INFJs are most compatible with INFJs, so it makes sense how we all tend to find each other. 😂❤
Since I started watching you (maybe four years ago?) I’ve become so in love with solo trips and reading alone in coffee shops as a way to relax. I feel so at peace when I have those moments, taking everything in, being observant of the world around me and allowing my thoughts to breathe. So thank you Cari!! 🤍
I'm an only child too, and I love doing things alone and didn't think it was weird until my friends told me they felt left out cause I went a couple of times to the cinema alone and didn't call them 😆 when I go alone I don't have to think how the others are enjoying it or look for their reactions so I enjoy them more. So yeah nobody is going to say/ think anything about you for doing things alone, except maybe your friends that want company
Abby Cox has an excellent video on the topic of books turning into fast fashion. Her background is in historical fashion and she really dives deep with her research.
I feel ya on the driving thing. I loath driving in cities. I honestly just don't particularly like driving at all. I make my husband drive if I can, haha. If I was rich, I would absolutely be one of those people with a driver. Thankfully, I live in the boonies and work from home, so I don't have to drive in cities super often.
I'm an INFJ too and I feel like INFJs tend to unconsciously gravitate towards other INFJs. Like when it comes to k-pop idols, unknowingly many of my favorites are also that :D and even some of my friends and other content creators I follow. There must be something about our personalities that make us feel comfortable and understood and that's why you have lot of INFJ viewers.
reverse culture shock is so real😂 I grew up in Thailand, and moved back to the states RIGHT before COVID hit. the culture shock and complete change in way of life took forever to adjust to
San Diego ROCKS...and exactly for those weather reasons along with being so adjacent to gorgeous beaches, beautiful mountains and so much more!!! Yay for California!! xo
California’s climate is definitely enticing for people that don’t like extreme weather. You can be spoiled by how moderate the climate is. It’s a beautiful place.
As a rare ENTP in this comments section, love your videos! I especially love your book channel as an avid reader and have bought many books that you've recommended just because of how you explain them. Your vlogs are also very relaxing, it makes me feel like I am travelling myself (when I should be doing my essay for university instead lol).
little add-on to your advice on traveling/eating out solo etc. I have traveled solo extensively for years and generally tend to look for restaurants that have bar or kitchen counter seating. And it's never been a problem. HOWEVER, last year when i was in Amsterdam of all places, I was having lunch at a super cool restaurant and observing the scene etc and a young waitress asked me if I'd like a book to read - she was clearly projecting her discomfit of eating out alone on me. Even to this day, I feel a little insulted by that experience. LOL. And, btw, I am going to be in Seoul for 3 weeks in May and your vlog has been so helpful. Really excited about my upcomign trip.
I have been following you at least 5-6 years Cari, and thanks to you the COVID era had been endurable with your visuals and talking assistance! I see now, why it has always been joyful to reach your content. cause SURPRISE! I am also INFJ haha
I also am an INFJ and an only child! That actually makes a lot of sense with how I always find your content comforting and I relate to a lot of things 🥹 I don’t have any problems with eating alone, but I’ve never actually been in a cinema by myself (I might try to do it this year). Yesterday I started planning my first solo trip abroad and I’m so excited about it 🤭 I want to go to Vienna for a few days around my birthday in May and I’m going to rewatch your video from last year to get some inspo 🤍 Hope you’re having the best time in Tokyo! 🫶🏻
Ambient spotify list at 28:46 for anyone wanting to take a screenshot of it to search for it on Spotify. (I think Cari forgot to link it in the description.)
I've been to Seoul twice, and the second time, I took a 14-hour flight to Boston. It was also one of the loudest planes I've ever been on, but my Sony noise-cancelling headphones did the job, and I fell asleep for the first 7 hours. I was so shocked 😂 28:09
AGGGGHHH THE LIBRARY AT MOUNT CHAR IS SO GOOD! Also good comparison; I love the Locked Tomb series. I’m just so excited that someone else read “Library”
Had to pause after your section talking about - just how and your husband work together. My husband and I are similar in that we're both introverts, I'm the more emotional one and he's more logical, we definitely share "hey I'm feeling irritated today" because that absolutely saves everyone from guess work, and as well we never argue. We butt heads here and there, that's normal, but we just don't argue. Never once have either of us raised our voices at each other, because we agree that it's not necessary and neither one of us like that (re: yelling). I'm like you Cari when it comes to traveling, in which I do like to have a little structure to my days, but I'm still flexible about it. My husband is the same thankfully, haha. We'll often have 1-3 spots we want to hit in a day, but we're still easy going about it. =)
Also an INFJ and my hubby is one also, we have talked about this so much, I think in general INFJs tend to flock together since we are so unique. So many of our close friends are also. What helped me see the full picture was when my job had us all take the test and I was the only INFJ and there were so many more ES** types and I would never hang with those people after work because they are too much mentally. It was a nice big picture snap shot vs a community snap shot.
I totally agree. I think when I took it in my psych class (about 100 years ago in high school lol) I was the only INFJ, but my husband is too and so many of the people I gravitate towards are also INFJ. It’s not something I think about when forming new friendships, but when it comes up later on down the road I’m like, “oh, that actually makes a ton of sense.” 😂
I didn’t like emergency breaking but it’s a part of driving test in UK too and yes you need to slam breaks regardless of drivers behind you - as they should be in appropriate distance to brak and stop themselves.
I guess I didnt explain it well enough because the way it is talked about with your driving instructor is was very frivolous and the most important thing was pleasing the computer’s timer
I just tried the test again, the result is INFJ-T, I honestly love your solo travel videos a lot, the first video of you that I watched was that ghibli like place, where you went. I remember you rented a cycle too. It felt like a friend sharing her experience with me. I absolutely love your videos. Can't tell how much comfort and positive energy I get from your videos. I'll miss you traveling around Korea all by yourself once you leave Korea. But I believe the future has something better to offer.
I’m an ENFP but i have this theory that my favorite people are all INFJ, and guess what recently youve been coming up to my top people from TH-cam 😂❤ theres just something about the calm and the perfect diction these people have!!!
I looked it up and there’s a really great quora answer regarding this. Apparently the most common type among women is ISFJ, but because of a lot of women’s value on intuition, it can skew results towards INFJ. There’s also the phenomenon that INFJ women attract other INFJ women so it makes sense for a group where the central figure (Cari) is an INFJ to get so many of them in the comments section. But may I just say that I love that you’re a different personality type?
In Switzerland, where I live and did my drivers license, I also had to learn and practice emergency stops. It's important because if you ever need to stop immediately because the car in front of you stops or something else, you need to be able to react fast and also hit the breaks very hard (otherwise it will take too long to stop). During your training is the only time you can actually practice this. What I liked though, is that my instructor always said: "I'll take care of our surroundings and make sure nobody is near. When I said Stop, you have to hit the breaks immediately". That's how I felt save doing it. And I guess now I feel more prepared, should I ever have to do it in a real situation. Hope this explanation helps
Im also a INFJ-T nice to meet like minded people love your channel ❤ I always feel very happy and calm when I see your content so thank you for the content you make
Very nice Q&A video. I always enjoy when you film at cafes. I got a Paperwhite about 8 months ago and can’t believe how much I love it; I also thought I was a hard copy girl all the way. You do have the most gorgeous hair! I also love the Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm. If I’m getting fancy, I put it over a lip liner (I color in my full lip).
INTJ here. When I travel with my husband, I do all the planning regarding where we go, where we stay, what we do, and where we eat. He handles the logistics of the actual travel, booking tickets or figuring out the driving route. It works for both of us.
If you ever do consider the Midwest, this is my plug for either Chicago, IL or Madison, WI. I have/do live in both and they are both stellar Midwest cities. Plus, you'd be smack dab in the middle and can go to either coast pretty easily!
Same with food phases!! I'll eat the same chips or pastry until I'm over it or a new taste changes my life 😅When the day comes I will honestly miss your daily korea vlogs when you move to the US just because I see Korea as more calm in content than the west but you do have an eye in capturing calm moments wherever you are.
I've watched your book channel and I've just recently found her vlog channel. I've been binge-watching all your videos and you're so calming after a long day at school. I wanted to say I feel like you and your husband have a Washington state vibe. I also live here so I'm biased. Anyways I love your videos
About the tanghulu: to be fair, the Chinese original is made with hawthorn instead of just random fruit. I dunno if maybe that makes for a more consistent texture experience?
Hey Cari Love your videos! Just wanted to let you know (in you didnt) that Bose has an app where you can control the amount of noise cancelation as well as the deceives its connected. As a female solo traveler i found it both help and entertaining to be able to hear my surrounding when people think I cant. 💛
On doing things alone: personally I feel like going to a coffee shop alone, especially if you're reading seems so much more socially acceptable than going out to eat at a restaurant alone. Same thing with going on holiday, it's totally fine exploring on my own until it is time to eat. It just seems so weird to have breakfast buffet or a restaurant visit on your own. But maybe that's because I'm not an only child and I always had my family doing things together? I'm introverted, so I'm really good at being my own company, but whenever I try to go to a restaurant on my own it takes a massive amount of forcing myself. And then I need to busy myself reading on my phone or bringing a book, because it feels too awkward to me to just sit there and people watch. I do hope to get better at it though. This one time in an Italian restaurant (it had bistro vibes though) there was this man eating by himself, reading the newspaper, having a glass of wine with it all and looking super comfortable and chill doing so. This is the type of comfortable eating out alone I aspire to be.
Psyched for the best part of my Saturday! 🙂Greetings from a snowy Rochester, NY. Always love a more personal angle video. Have a great weekend, Cari! P.S. I'm an INFJ too, lol.
As an INFJ myself, I heavily relate on how you travel to new places. I really need an itinerary so I won’t regret not having to go to the places that I want because the destinations are planned beforehand 😅 Can’t wait for your japan vlog! ♥️
Sometimes I enjoy eating alone because it’s a great people-watching experience and the ambience is great for sitting back and enjoying. Or sometimes you may find a rare instance of human kindness. I remember I was traveling to my friend’s house on Inauguration Day 2017, feeling anxious and tired, and I stopped to eat at a classic American diner on the way. I guess someone in the diner saw how tired I looked, because when I went to pay for my meal, the cashier told me that someone had already paid for it for me. I was shocked by that random act of kindness, but it made me feel looked out for on an otherwise rough day.
As someone living in Nebraska, born and raised in Maine.... theyre basically the same but less trees, hotter summers, and more thunderstorms LOL worth visiting at some point though! I didnt know anything about Omaha until I moved here and my boyfriend (who moved with me) and I really enjoy it.
Just tested Myer Briggs for the first time in years and got INFJ. I used to be ENFP a long time ago. It's cool to see how it develops at different stages. ofyour life.
🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶 I love it here and it’s so much of beautiful overlap that I feel when I see you do your things and listen to you talk because it’s all so much like what happens inside me :)))
I can envision you and Kurt in San Francisco! I’ve lived there for 18 yrs and love it. Lots of parks, coffee shops, bookstores, great food. Also love that you’re able to INFJ! I am too but don’t know any in real life
Great as always, me watching your video in the collage( rest time ) hoping l can watch it till end ,your videos always erase the stress , Heavy feeling inside thanks beautiful 💞💕
Due to work, I have been going through horrible burn out and lost all will to do things I once enjoyed. Thank you for your content, I now feel a bit better and started reading again (plus I am loving the 2005-2015 references, I feel a bit less old on YT now😂)
Ah, Cari! I hope you and your husband make the move to SD. And if you do, please host a meet up. 🤩 I’m a creative freelancer myself and totally feel like we’d be friends. Just started a book club here too. Anyways I’m so hooked on your content - it always leaves me feeling artistically motivated and just happy! Wishing you all of the best. ♥️
Thanks for this video Cari, I had fun watching it! Your videos have inspired me to go exploring cities alone more, though I'm still working on actually eating in a restaurant by myself. There's one question coming up for me as you're talking about wanting to teach more: how do you deal with taking planes when we know how bad it is for climate change? This is something I'm struggling with for myself and I'm interested to know how you think about it. Thanks always!
Long distance flights are not the issue when it comes to climate change. The issue is the shorter flights (such as flying from nyc to boston or la to sf, etc as well as private plane travel) I will always try to take a bus or train even if its more expensive than take a flight under 4 hours. And i will always pay more money for a non stop flight if possible to only have one take off and landing.
I love both your channels and always look forward to the videos. I especially enjoy your videos outside of Seoul, it’s nice to see other places that I may never get to see in person Also you mentioned having reservations in Tokyo for an unagi place? If it’s good could you please share the information for it? My husband and I are visiting Japan again in October for our 10 yr anniversary and we both love unagi Thanks 😊
I've noticed your hair has been looking so vibrant in recent videos! ❤ As an INFP, I can confirm that not all your viewers are INFJs! Looks like we're all introverted with similar interests tho
your vlogs and book vids have honestly become the best part of my week 😭🤍 also I'm an INTJ-T and my best friend is an INFJ-we're like two sides of the same intense coin 😂
Next time you're in Japan, go to Mishima, Shizuoka for unagi! (It's a super quick shinkansen ride from Tokyo.) It's a cute town known for their unagi and Mt. Fuji views. (And also my husband's hometown, so I am admittedly slightly biased. 😁)
I loved this so much.. I have never done a personality test so tried it. I found some of the questions hard to answer, is that normal? I am an Advocate or INFJ-T. Mmm not sure I am an idealist though. I love cafes!!! I would never go into one by myself, but when I visit my daughter at university and she has a class I will. I love it. We don’t have as many lovely cafes in the UK sadly. Oh and my name is also Caroline but I tend to be called Carol. At junior school I was called Carolyn??? I love my name but have kind of just got used to being called Carol now❤❤
I was super skeptical when i bought my kindle paperwhite because i also love collecting books, ive collected plushies, stickers, anime goods and now books. But i noticed not only that its very costly, its also hard to buy it cuz i live in Japan where theres limited english books and so when i bought kindle during a sale in amazon i didnt know that i will love it like the way i do now. Ive always read e-mangas/manhwas (unfortunately i also bought physical mangas) but i wanted to buy physical books just because. Now i’m having a hard time reading whats in my hands cuz im only reading via online😅
You mentioned travel, what did you think about your experience with trova for your Japan trip? I recently got reached out and I wanted to ask another creator who I can trust.
When I fly, in put in my noise canceling air pods, strap on my neck pillow that actually braces my neck, and pass out. Sleeping while flying is like time travel. I skip all the annoying parts of being stuck in a seat for hours.
re: driving test - thanks for letting me know your countries do that too! i guess that was a bad example 🥲 i was just tired of the classes being so obsessed with the test without actually teaching things i felt were important like paying attention to other drivers (we never really learned about merging, switching lanes, etc) and being told i didnt turn my emergency flashers on fast enough over and over was the final straw 😂 but i learned something new so thank you!!

Your driving test experience is such a good metaphor for education in Korea. You study to get a good score not to learn.
I'm reading The Library at Mount Char right now as I watch this! I'm about 56 pages in, but I am HOOKED.
INTJ here, and I love your content, enjoy it so much. Thank you for sharing!!
I love these videos!! I also think you should set up another book meet up in Seoul ideally between the 19th-23rd May 🙈🙈🤗
LOL! yes i hope to do one soon, just have to get my act together ahhaha
Thank you!! That's really good to hear! I'm just planning my visit to South Korea - it's my first time going there!
Psyched for the best part of my Saturday! 🙂Greetings from a snowy Rochester, NY. Always love a more personal angle video. Have a great weekend, Cari! P.S. I'm an INFJ too, lol.
i've been loving all the east coast snow updates i've been getting haha have a nice snow day^^
Random but I was just in Rochester NY for my first (dj) show ever haha
@@ponimusic Cool!
Happy Sunday Cari! 🥰
happy sunday to you too!
Hi, i just wanted to say I love your videos!! they really make my day!!! thank you :)
thank you :')
7:38 San Diego is here for you!
The Library at Mount Char got me back into reading a little over a year ago!
I am too but don’t know any in real life
I’ve been using that same burts bees lip balm for years! such an underrated product❤
As a west coast girl, it’s great to hear Kurt loves the west coast haha. Would you consider doing a book meet up in the US?
i am always a little busy in the us cause of family but hopefully one day i'll have more time!!
Woohoo! Excited to get to know you better 😊❤
thanks for watching^^
Great as always, me watching your video in the collage( rest time ) hoping l can watch it till end ,your videos always erase the stress , Heavy feeling inside thanks beautiful 💞💕
have a nice rest of your day 💕
Due to work, I have been going through horrible burn out and lost all will to do things I once enjoyed.
I'm still in a middle of watching. But, thank you for drilling down essentials in finding a home/place - books, coffee, nature, food.
Infj!!!!! We just gravitate toward each other.
i never had tanghulu but i hated candy apples when i was a kid. i dont like to bite on sugar! Im with you on this.
The issue is the shorter flights (such as flying from nyc to boston or la to sf, etc as well as private plane travel)
I will always try to take a bus or train even if its more expensive than take a flight under 4 hours. And i will always pay more money for a non stop flight if possible to only have one take off and landing.
Thanks for your response!
INTJ here - love love love your videos!!
Yes, I'm also anti-tanghulu! I feel like I'm chewing glass horrible texture I just want fresh fruit
thank you!! i dont get the hype hahaha
The average price for a tiny box of a house in San Diego is over $800,00.00 and it would be out in the boonies like El Cajon!
YES finally someone else who feels weird about the fast fashion comparison. I understand what they mean, but it's not a good comparison.
I love both your channels and always look forward to the videos. I especially enjoy your videos outside of Seoul, it’s nice to see other places that I may never get to see in person
Also you mentioned having reservations in Tokyo for an unagi place? If it’s good could you please share the information for it? My husband and I are visiting Japan again in October for our 10 yr anniversary and we both love unagi
Thanks 😊
I've noticed your hair has been looking so vibrant in recent videos! ❤ As an INFP, I can confirm that not all your viewers are INFJs! Looks like we're all introverted with similar interests tho
Hehe you are slowly bringing all the infjs to one place 💚, also hate strawberries so tanghulu is a hard no
your vlogs and book vids have honestly become the best part of my week 😭🤍 also I'm an INTJ-T and my best friend is an INFJ-we're like two sides of the same intense coin 😂
I'm an ISTJ-T ... Hope you guys are having a great time in Japan
We had a very strong wind recently, so I know what you feel.
Cari the Midwest is best 😭 Chicago is amazing. Idk if Kurt would survive our winters though haha
I absolutely love your Q&As 💕
💕💕💕
Next time you're in Japan, go to Mishima, Shizuoka for unagi! (It's a super quick shinkansen ride from Tokyo.) It's a cute town known for their unagi and Mt. Fuji views. (And also my husband's hometown, so I am admittedly slightly biased. 😁)
Hi Cariiii!!!! Love your videos
for some reason i dont mind eating by myself at all when im traveling, but i never do it in the city i live in???
I’m also an INFJ but I’ve gotten INFP too I think we’ve found a little safe space here❤️
I loved this so much..
Did this test years ago. Couldn’t remember what I was. Just went to the website and did it while you were talking. INFJ-A
You mentioned travel, what did you think about your experience with trova for your Japan trip? I recently got reached out and I wanted to ask another creator who I can trust.
I am INFP-T.
I do the same test and get different results so I am sticking to this one.
We'll have to throw a welcome back party in a few years 🎉
💕
cari, you’re so right, i AM dehydrated 😅 chugging water as we speak!
atta girl!!!
I am an INFJ. I think the reason I enjoy your vlogs so so so much is that we have the same mbti ~~
When I fly, in put in my noise canceling air pods, strap on my neck pillow that actually braces my neck, and pass out. Sleeping while flying is like time travel. I skip all the annoying parts of being stuck in a seat for hours.
I'm an INFJ -T, too. Taken 3 times with years apart between. I guess that's why I vibe with you! 😂 Hello from Houston!
Born and raised in San Diego and highly recommend you come back 😎
Just a heads up, henna even in small amounts builds up over time and is extremely difficult to remove if you don't like the result.
good thing this is a minuscule amount of henna like i said! thank~
