A real joy to watch a craftsperson at work. BK is very lucky to have someone with your attention-to-detail doing this for him. Makes me want to convert another camper!
I love the depth of knowledge that you have for your builds. I was kinda expecting you to farm out some of the work to third parties but no, you seem to be tackling almost everything yourself. Bravo sir! 😊
Thanks, it’s taken a long time and lots of dedication to get proficient across all areas- but it does mean when you can’t find or get let down by subcontractors etc you can still get the job done- and do it all if you want to! It’s nice to know I can build the whole project 😎
Awesome build - the dash cluster looks awesome. Well done wearing your space-suit! Just curious, have you heard of those tiny speaker modules (Feonic in the UK makes those vibration speakers) that turns any flat surface into a speaker? That post truck is one giant collection of flat surfaces and it'd be wild to see something like that.
Sounds interesting tech! Not something I’m familiar with but can’t help but imagine it might clash with the inevitable noise those flat panels will already be making when driving 😂
I’m not sure why but the phrase “bag of flanges” really made me laugh! Awesome work yet again man… and YES that dials cluster is so sick!! Bizarrely my brother and I fitted that exact head unit into a Ferrari FF two weeks ago. I just posted the video yesterday on our channel @cambridgeautosound. If BK decides he does want some audio upgrades in the future we’d be happy to help 👍🏻
Flange! It’s a classic… yeah I’ve got the same head unit in my crafter, pretty decent- I’m sure in time the speakers etc will get an upgrade (I’ll let him know you’d be up for it)- for now just focussing on functionality- and getting the tyres spinning asap!!!
@@AutostylUK can I ask what the benefit is of using epoxy primer over say regular red oxide primer? I’m treating some light surface rust in the footwells of my e28 and wondering what’s best to then coat it with to protect it properly
@@danielwillits2173 epoxy is far superior to something like red oxide primer. The main advantage is it’s not porous like most primer- so keeps any moisture off the metal- making it the best base for all further coatings! Wouldn’t use anything else!
@@AutostylUK ah mate thank you for the advice. If I used red oxide primer but then covered it with seam sealer afterwards would that not also make it waterproof? Maybe it’s not as reliable? Mine doesn’t need to be neat as it’s all in hidden areas that you’ll never see, under the front footwell carpets and inner sills… but I might try to get a 2 pack epoxy kit in tins and brush it on. I don’t have a sprayer unfortunately
I don’t think so- there’s no roof lining, interior panels etc so not really anything to hide it behind. Plus- with the doors slid open whilst driving it’d have very little effect 😎 🚐 💨 💨 💨
First off love your work mate. Not to be another PPE police person but all that tacking with no mask, blasting your face with UV. Will build up over the years. We all do it I know. A decent place for the speaker pods would be in the kick panels, will give a much better sound stage and bass response.
Thanks! Yeah- but I shut my eyes 😆 I was wondering how long it would take for someone to point that one out! Again- I know better, and I probably do better than most people normally with regard PPE- adjusting to working with a camera to constantly think about hasn’t helped! I’ll sit myself on the naughty step for 10mins to think about what I’ve done! 😂 There’s no kick panels, or any interior panels for that matter- so we literally had no option other than surface/bracket mounted speakers. Probably something that will get upgraded later- but for now it’s all about focussing on getting those tyres spinning asap!

Thank you! Means so much when people can see the care and effort put into to these builds!
Great work as always mate. Progress steaming along!
Thanks dude! Can’t wait to get it ripping out on the streets!
I hope mr Kerr is following your progress on TH-cam 😁
I’m sure he’s lurking here from time to time 😂

@@AutostylUK Cool. Puffer jackets as standard then! 😂
@@chimps4gimps its got heating and AC- but ear muffs may be required 😂
Van must already been done, seen it being driven by a another tuber by the name of Wheelie Yellow 😂
😂 almost got me there- funny
Will BK be able to pass the MOT with the EGR valve removed?
Shh 🤫 MOT and tax exempt
