This movie had such a different vibe in the theater with Cell Max's screams being able to echo through the room. Anyone else agree?

This was actually my opportunity to watch the film for the first time. Honestly it was really good! The writing was really good, the CG I feel like actually fits modern Dragon Ball and the fights were great. Piccolo was the real MVP of the film.

It’s really wholesome after seeing Pam running up to hug Gohan. As this is a good ending to his adult life. While it’s unforgettable how he tragically died as an adult in the another timeline.
Truly a redemption for a character who can potentially carry the show. (As long as toriyama decides to lol)

i truly believe toriyama is one of the most underrated writers of all time. its so easy to call db nothing but dumb action, but its really the characters that kept us here all this time. he knows that we put in a lot of time with these characters and just seeing them interact means a lot to us. aimin hasnt been watching as long as some of us 90s babies, but its clear he feels the same way we feel about these characters. those heartfelt smiles for moments like krillin joining the fight, or piccolo being annoyed by bulma, gohan and videl. the pure excitement and shock at piccolos transformation and every gohan transformation... i could go on and on. theres a reason aimin reactions feels so goddamn authentic, its because he is fully immersed in this world toriyama created. dragon ball is a lowkey masterpiece that will live forever. even if there comes a time where db story seems to end with no certain return, those characters will live forever. like marvel, dc, star wars, etc. dragon ball is a brand that will remain forever.
If anything the whole “there’s to much fighting” isn’t even Toriyama’s fault, it’s the company wanting to milk dragon ball as a whole, and not giving enough room to develop and even more well thought out story
Wow, that was the perfect statement for how db really is. I thought I was the only one who liked the slice of life moments in this series. Well not the only one but you know, in the smaller majority, but just thinking about how evil Piccolo used to be and how Bulma and everyone else used to fear him, seeing how much more gentle Piccolo is with training Pan than when he trained Gohan, seeing Piccolo talk to Korin and him calling him “Kami”, etc. It’s all just heartwarming.

the scream in the background is overlayed with ssj2 teen gohan's scream as well. It's the original z voice too and not kai.

You can see as usual the power got to Gohan's head again, the arrogance and cockiness. But he quickly changes his attitude the moment Piccolo calls him. The growth between their relationship is nothing short of amazing.

While I understand that Semi-Perfect Cell is Toriyama’s favorite form, I still think it would’ve been better had we seen Cell Max as if he were perfected like Gero’s creation. Still, Hedo’s Cell was an absolute monster.
The thing was that Magenta activated Cell Max before it was completed,so that's why we got that beast

This movie was amazing. I loved the dialogue, the slice of life moments and how Piccolo finally got to shine. Gamma 1 and 2 were also amazing additions to the series. Piccolo is finally on par with Goku and Vegeta and Gohan is now the strongest Z fighter by far again.

Glad to see that Semi-Perfect Cell is getting recognition, he’s very underrated.
Much like Superman set limiters on his powers at a young age, I like to think that the reason Pan was able to fly as a baby was because she was naturally gifted, but once she grew up, she's got to think what she wants to happen and probably has that thought at the back of her mind, like "What if I fall?" etc. Stupid power-limiting brain!

The writers implementing the story from minus in the broly movie is no no,Even with the tweaks it still contradict the Original source material.
For that and broli surpassing goku and vegita due to shit writing Dragon Ball Super broly is definitely worse than superhero....Super hero has it's problems with beast gohan and cell max but i think it has enough plot better fight scenes to separate it from DBS broly.
Many speculate that Gohan's Beast form is inspired by the earlier versions of super saiyan in Manga with Goku having white hair and red eyes you can search it up.

They literally ignored his whole character arc in Dragon Ball Super anime in which he was sad that he was not able to save Piccolo from Frieza during ROF adaptation.

Considering how at times unhealthy and even homicidal Vegeta's desire to beat Goku had manifested at times, him being so wholesomely happy when he did it was interesting and nice. He had to grow past all of that to get that.

Once Goku unleashed x3 kaioken he didn't stand a chance, the only thing you can argue is stamina, but if he really wanted to, goku would've started in x4 and obliterated him quickly. (not to undermine vegeta, he was the stronger fighter in multiple instances in the series, even in the manga dialogue, yet your example is pure garbage)

Had Piccolo survived Nappa’s attack during the Saiyan saga, we could’ve had a giant Piccolo vs Great Ape Vegeta fights but realistically it makes him a bigger target which is why he never really used it. There was a brief moment during the Garlic Jr arc where he increased his size slightly.
i think the reason why gohan got white hair and red eyes, is because the original super saiyen was suppose to have that. but it turned out to be yellow by a mistake

Fun fact beast Gohan was originally supposed to have blue skin with the white hair but the blue skin was dropped because it was looked Too weird
I'd like to think Beast is equivalent to Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego, but different to how they operate. Instinct relies on avoidance, countering the enemy while dodging attacks. Ego relies on tanking, taking the hits and dealing them back stronger. Beast probably relies on overwhelming, taking the enemy down in swift blows before they really have a chance to fight back. Think a predator hunting their prey; in one swift move, the prey is dead. Gohan only needed one attack. Didn't need to drag the fight out, which Goku and Vegeta like to do. Gohan just wants to end it before anyone else gets hurt. He likes a fight sure, we've seen that, but he's more concerned about ending it than anything. I think he's learned from his previous mistake with Cell when he first went SS2.
Thing is, when Pan first unlocked her ki, it went rampant so she could fly.
When it finally went under control she did not have the ability to use it correctly, that's why she couldn't fly.
Gohan's new form was actually what Super Saiyan intended to look like. But the creator went to doing yellow hair and green eyes instead for the Super Saiyan transformation.
I love the fact that Pan learning to fly in that moment correlates to something Goku said to Gohan when training him at a young age, "Power comes in response to a need, not a desire"
Maybe after this we can get a "father and son special beam cannon" 😆

gohan was trained by piccolo, he wears his clothes, he used masenko in the past, and so, he can do the special beam.
if you didnt notice, this movie had references to the cell saga like with androids, gohan hair style after awakening ss2. everyone vs cell. also the saiyan saga when goku was holding raditz and piccolo used the beam to kill them..
the movies, like broly, reboot some old material. so now we know here is when pan flew the first time.
Gohan's Beast form is almost identical to his Super Saiyan 2 form when he fought Cell.

Beast Gohan should be on the same level as Goku's MUI. At least power and speed wise. But we'll have to wait and see what they do with it when the series comes back. After all, Goku has only just begun with his Ultra Instinct journey, so he and Vegeta will only get incomprehensibly stronger. But, hopefully, this new form will keep Gohan in the bigger fights a lot more often, maybe even be a major character in some of them.
Gohan beast is superior to Goku MUI. as super hero movie's story falls after Granolah arc/appearance of black frieza. And every form which cames afterwards of previous arc it will always be stronger than the previous one. Except black frieza, he is faaaar stronger

Im sure the anime will make things quite different if that's the case.
@@reggielacey2235 we'll have to wait and see tbh. Ultra instinct is definitely a stronger ability to gohans new form, but goku has a ways to go with it before he starts to fully master it. So it may be the case in the anime that gohan beast may be on the same level as ui goku for at least a little while.

The forms unexplained as of now, it is based on the color scheme of what Toriyama intended for the original ssj, white hair and red eyes. Also ssj2 kid gohan
And this form makes gohan the strongest mortal from universe 7.

Also as far as power scaling goes, I believe Beast Gohan is relative to ui goku. I think this movie is supposed to take place after the granola arc, & if it does than that means Gohan is ultraego vegeta & ui goku level, idk if he's stronger than they are, but he's at least relative

@Reggielacey 223 isn't it supposed to be like one of the last things to take place before the ending of Z? Which means it would be after granola. Also I'm pretty sure it was confirmed, could be wrong, which is why in the ig comment I said "I think" & "if it does". At the very least he's stronger than anything shown in the dbs anime timeline.

Gamma 2 can’t be brought back (to my knowledge at least) with the Dragon Balls because he was a full Android, not a Cyborg. He technically doesn’t have a soul to wish back. That’s why Android 16 never got wished back.

Android 8 and Arale are pure mechanical and they were revived with the dragon balls. Android 16 was probably revived with the dragon balls offscreen. Gamma 2 might be able to be brought back.

And Arale, I don’t completely count because she’s the main character of her own series which is very popular in Japan and it’s a gag series. They couldn’t leave her dead because of something that happened in another series.
16 is still dead. If he was alive again then he would visit 18 and 17 often or they’d mention him. He’s for sure dead.
Gamma 2 will more than likely stay dead. Hedo can build him again but it wouldn’t be the same.

Plus think of it this way, they were thinking of strong fighters for the Universe 7 team and the only Android they thought of besides 18 was 17. They could have been ‘Hey what about 16, you think he could help?’

Toriyama has pretty much come back to only write the Super movies scripts. Other than that he does outline points and Toyotaro handles the rest of the writing while making sure to hit those points.
16 is dead, heck in a way the franchise even confirms this with the FighterZ plot. Yes it’s not canon, but it’s still a plot in a DBZ/DBS game and in the plot, 16 was rebuilt by 21 not revived. 17 and 18 were shocked to see him.
Yes, it is a non-canon story but I feel like that is the writers of the game, who are people that have seen the entire series, just confirming for us fans and players that 16 is still dead by this point of the series.

According to my own personal calculations, this form is about twice as strong as MUI (after the movie with some training), and at a minimum strong enough to beat MUI. Ofc its all what you make of it bc there's no official numbers but it fits the rest of the power scaling for the other characters. I like the transformation, ik lots of people dislike it but I think its pretty cool. Gohan has been needing a new transformation. I'm excited to see how much further he can go.

I really loved the visuals and callbacks in this. I kind of had my doubts at first but this is a fun movie. They handled themselves very well without the main stars here. Just go to show that the supporting characters can kick just as much ass. Very impressed. The musical score was good too!
