    I wish we got more station wagons in the US! I'd much rather have a station wagon than a "crossover."

    • @volvo09
      @volvo09 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Same, I don't know why people choose lame crossovers over wagons.

      Get an Outback....best of both.

    • @ectofix8447
      @ectofix8447 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's funny. I grew up in a station wagon. In my child-rearing years, minivans were hot. Then SUVs. Then crossovers.
      Now wagons are what people want again? Maybe minivans will follow in ten or so years.
      Then long hair. And bell bottoms...and so forth.

    • @LeesChannel
      @LeesChannel 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ectofix8447 I've never liked minivans or SUVs, I've always thought they were ugly and inefficient. The crossovers are okay, but they're just supersized sedans with a lift. I'd definitely prefer being lower to the ground and having less frontal area, yet still keeping the storage space. It just seems like a much better design.

      Well it's not just a normal station wagon it's a high performance , tech. advanced all round practical car that
      also goes like a rocket on the highway.
      It' ain't no National Lampoon's , Chevy Chase , "Vacation " station wagon .
      It's a complicated car and more complicated means more moving parts which means more things can go wrong with it. That's just how it is .
      If you can't keep up with the maintenance then don't buy this thing in the first place !

      S6x engine is around for 12 years with many improvements since birth. I’ve found M5 servicing to be reasonable. The plug-in piece… it’ll need a battery after a while. No biggie.

      Shiny black plastic makes zero sense on materials that are exposed to sunlight. Every blemish becomes all I can see. Also the glare is awful at certain angles.
      Also every bit of dust shows up instantly.

      Because it is cheap. That's all there is to it. Manufacturers save money, while still upping the price of new vehicles, thereby increasing their profit and there is nothing we as consumers can do about it (other than not buying the car, but we know that won't happen). All the new German luxury cars are covered in it.

    I've been to the Moto GP event in Spain this week and I've seen this and the M5 sedan in real life cause BMW is the main sponsor and they have a bunch of new models there. The wagon looks way better than the sedan. The front end is tall almost like an SUV front end so a wagon rear end suits it better. I can't understand how can it achieve such a low aero CX.

    Station wagons were all the rage back in the 70's! MANY families had big, huge, boxy station wagons like my parents Ford Country Squire which would make a Chevrolet Suburban today look like a compact car! Wagons back then were HUGE! I love wagons and always have. Now they are making a return, thank goodness. I don't like driving a big SUV. I just don't. I would much rather have something like this. A super car disguised as a station wagon. Twin turbo V8, yes sir, sign me up! Now the Audi RS6 has some competition. I also saw a new Buick Station Wagon the other day (i'm sure Buick called it a "crossover" or something) but it looked fantastic. In fact, I would have bought my wife one had I not just got her a new Subaru Outback, another car I call a "station wagon" although Subaru calls it an SUV. SUV was a word that wasn't even thought of back in the 70's. They were STATION WAGONS! Those, and VANS were all the rage! Many more VANS than you see on the road today. BIg boxy vans! I love that that this new BMW station wagon (or whatever BMW calls it now days), has electric capability added and is a hybrid vehicle. That's cool. This is the perfect supercar family hauler. I absolutely LOVE THIS THING! I want one. And the color in that beautiful (and very striking) green color and bright orange leather seats! PERFECT.

My XC90 T6 Momentum was only $18k with 80k miles on it and offered a 4 year/50k mile warranty. I like it, but I see like 10 of these everywhere I go, where as the estates are like a unicorn. At least in Florida they are. I was going to fly to New Jersey to buy the 2017 V90CC too, as I flew to Detroit when I bought my XC70.

    Fast wagons have been effectively dodo'ed since the demise of the CTS-V wag, which is a crying shame as those are stupidly priced on the preowned market but still very desirable. You'd think someone would have taken up the slack with at least a minimal offering, but no. While I would to have loved to have seen an M5 wag years and years ago, better late than never. I've seen a few much older AMG variants imported quite some time ago, but they are almost as rare as the V-wags anymore.

    This will be the last M5 ice cause BMW is no longer hiring ice engineers and they only update the engines to fullfill emission regulations.
    Game over for ice and M5 EV will follow.
    Except maybe ALPINA branded BMW cause this is an independent niche manufacturer which has not to fullfill the fleet emissions.

    It only took them more than 20 years. Mercedes had no trouble selling their AMG E class wagons, but BMW takes a few decades to catch on. And now that they finally do it, it's overweight, overpriced, and full of cheap crappy plastic and idiotic screens

    RS6 looks much nicer and is probably lighter with near the same horsepower.

    I've said it a billion times it seems. The only people who GAF about wagons are Subaru owning Northeastern librarian Karens, and automotive journalists.

      I am neither of those. Had a Mazda wagon that we miss terribly.

    The new M5 was basically built for the American market. It's more muscle car than sports sedan.
    Although I wonder if Americans will bite. The X5M was a hard pill to swallow. And this is the same car in a different skin.. but let's see

    Not bragging: I make $500k a year and am 46. I race my F80 M3. I am the target audience for this car as I have a family.
    THE STYLE IS TERRIBLE. If I am the target audience…. Good luck.

    The only drivers who get to enjoy this are suits or those who flip cars for a living and rid them just before or after the warranty coverage is over. Under the hood over the engine... PLASTIC FANTASTIC! Doesn't matter how much cooling that baby got, cracks and leaks are bound to happen with the amount of heat that engine produces.Sympathies to the dummy-101 poor sod who drives this after warranty unless you are a gear head DIY-er enthusiast. Hopefully third party BMW motorsports companies will provide aftermarket support to replace a lot of that plastic. Adding a hybrid system to this is great when it's new.When it ages - oh my days... the electrical issues to come.

    BMW is dead to me. They even figured out how to ruin a wagon.

    Wow, is that hideous! There is not one thing that looks good on either the interior or exterior. I'm not sure what you guys are looking at. And super complicated! A hard pass!!

    I LOVE IT! But it’ll be idiotically expensive and a BMW, so not dependable. PASS! But it looks good!
