I reckon going back and upping the contrast with the lightning would be worthwhile. Just a pale white down the centre of each blue lightning strike would be lovely.
I really appreciate when you use GW paints. I use them as they what I learned with so I'm most comfortable with them. They're also the paints most readily available to me.
I totally understand that! I have included the conversion charts in the description so you can see the equivalent that I would have used with citadel paints! When I use only citadel paints I get comments about using other paints 😄
Love that one from last picture of him looming over the guardsman amazing 🤣. Very happy to see some chaos back on the channel especially my beloved eighth. And I have a similar rule abut ADB and his nightlord trilogy is my favourite black library story, I have read it four or five times at this point.
Nice Job, personally would of gone a bit darker blue for the mainstay of the power armour so the lightening stands out a little more (thunderstorm in a dark night). Love the gold and reds you picked for him though.
5:55 I'm pretty sure Ninjon was just calling attention to the marketing phrasing. A color triad is made of three different hues that are roughly 120° apart from each other across the color wheel, while the two-thin-coats paints are grouped by tones and permutations of hues. (Apologies for being the "well actually guy") Sick paint job and good choice on the helmet. The wings are very striking compared to the head with long hair. Cheers
Loveds to see some Two thin coats appreciation, Ive been using them for my MESBG stuff and only realised Id never used them for power armour when I saw this video 😅 Two thin coats has to be my most used range now alongside Pro Acryl. Citadel has sort of fallen off the radar for me now, besides the contrast paints.
My prototype tank using stamping instead of water transfers turned out great! I highly recommend stamps instead of transfers. I learned that embossing works well on resin but NOT plastic (it gets too hot for plastic). I could send you pics...
I really like TTC paints, the consistency is a lot better than GW and I’m transitioning towards them, but will take a long time to fully break away. However gw contrast is still a good base.
Yeah it’s hard to just switch over when you know one range so well. Slowly adding is definitely a good way to go, but yes contrast paints are still the best for me-even if it’s just because I know how to use them best
@@MediocreHobbies I mean I’m not going to throw away paint I already have, but when it comes to replacing I’ll go for the TTC range. Especially now with phase 3 expansion.
@@MediocreHobbies I bought a random $5 knight sculpt from a local hobby store to get it out of my system. Your Old World videos are rubbing off on me in a good way.
I really liked the Night Lords upgrade sprue, for the Chaos Space Marines. Hope GW can find ways for the Havocs and Raptors to also take advantage of such sprees, should someone wish to build a 40k Night Lords army.
Two thin coats on the dealth guard with a green that looks decent .......love death guard green but would love something similar from two thin coats , I think it's coming in wave 3 so looking forward to this wave .......
I’ve done other night lords on the channel before using citadel paints’ You can use the conversion charts on this page for converting to citadel paints though for this tutorial though! www.duncanrhodes.com/ttc-paints/
I think there is a difference between effective stealth and stealth employed in terror tactics. Ideally in stealth know one knows you were there until your gone, for terror tactics you would leave bodies out to be found, and seeing splashes of color moving in the dark where you can't get a good look at what is out there is such a basic lever on human psychology that it has been used in almost every horror film ever.
No interest in two things coats. I know and understand citadel and don’t want to start a new range and can’t be bothered to look at the conversion chart. One here and there is fine but I prefer citadel as it’s way easier to
I love that not one of the Night Lords painting guides I've seen from Nightmare actually use Night Lords Blue.
Hahaha yeah it’s funny

Yep agreed.

Just ordered a bunch of 2 thin coats cus of ur use of them. Great video man.
Oh awesome, hope you enjoy them!
Hope you paint and showcase the Drukhari Mandrake models as well, it's such an exciting refresh for a faction with a lot of old models
Yes there’ll be a mandrake tutorial soon don’t worry! Very excited to see more of them as well, it’s usually a teaser for a larger range so 🤞
Love that line of paints. I did my apothecary biologis with the trooper white and it’s by far the cleanest looking model I’ve painted yet.
Ye it’s just so good.

Hahah ye that was a bit of fun. And fitting I thought.

Ye proven to agree with you there.

Ye I’m just not smart enough to enough or that. I’m lost lol. But I appreciate it.
I think you're smart but fair enough.
Keep up the good work because your content is great 👍

Two thin coats has to be my most used range now alongside Pro Acryl. Citadel has sort of fallen off the radar for me now, besides the contrast paints.
That’s exactly why I made the video, I realised I loved them for fabrics and never tried them for power armour either 😄 it’s a great range for sure
Element Games is a great place to buy from. Love the vid❤️❤️❤️
Cheers. And yes they are.
Looks great 😃 i picked up my first 2 thin coats yesterday to try out the blues and yellows on a knight 🙂
Oh sweet, hope you enjoy them and let me know if you have any questions!

I’m interested…
Finally someone using two thin coats paint!
Yeah it’s underrated!
The difference between a Night Lord and a Raven Guard is literally a few millimeters of bone.
😂
Great painting ! And Night Lords trilogy is a very good novel…
It’s so good. Mite reread it.

That Ultramarine looks a bit off ;) Great vid as always
Hahaha yeah…
Who else is here begrudgingly watching 40k content to support more Old World stuff?
I watch Old World to get 40K videos. We are not the same.
Hahaha cheers guys for suffering through to support the channel, old world is back tomorrow!
@@MediocreHobbies I bought a random $5 knight sculpt from a local hobby store to get it out of my system. Your Old World videos are rubbing off on me in a good way.
😂 *raises hand (need more black templars and guard vids!) seriously though, this was excellent, as are Two Thin Coats paints
Me. I’m ready for more Old World!
Thanks Andy! I never knew you did 40K! I thought you were an old world channel 😜!
😂 you’ll enjoy today’s video I think!

Ye that would be nice and fitting. Let’s hope m
Man I cannot wait until that upgrade sprue goes on sale. I plan to get 3-4 of them and start a CSM army!
Oh that would be really cool, fingers crossed it’s soon!
Two thin coats on the dealth guard with a green that looks decent .......love death guard green but would love something similar from two thin coats , I think it's coming in wave 3 so looking forward to this wave .......
Yes I just want more. I’m so greedy lol.
Are you going to do another video with Citadel paints? Been waiting a while for this tutorial and I have none of these paints 😂
I’ve done other night lords on the channel before using citadel paints’ You can use the conversion charts on this page for converting to citadel paints though for this tutorial though! www.duncanrhodes.com/ttc-paints/

Like to see you do a white scar storm seer
This might help? Just need to swop in some colours to fit storm seer better th-cam.com/video/QOy8SZzeJS8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fhSLOKtSHuc9u81p
I got to paint today worked on some bone rattle and a Asian imperial dragon so tainted gold tarnished silver a metallic almost black .
Oh that sounds awesome.
Will you do the mandrake one too?
Yes that’s coming next week!
time to start using some Pro Acryl, next!
I have used their paints already!
1st triad is from wave 2
Nice
I get my Box on Saturday❤❤
Oh awesome, let me know which side you paint first!
Night Lords are favorites, very Close after Thousand Sons. So Night Lords first
Clad in midnight?
Sounds like a perfume 😂
Ashilla lerri jara nath nehil, vyla...

I get similar comments when I only use citadel 😄
@@MediocreHobbies maybe do a conversion on screen so it’s easier to understand. Watch all your videos. But nope to two thin Coats lol 😂
No lightning.....
