It's honestly a sad case. When your very own people are against your growth and development at the highest level of governance (that too since independance). It has been some 10 years since India actually began development in important areas. It'll take time, but they definitely haven't missed the bus. One of the major issues in India was the lack of connectivity between people and the government. And that gap is also being closed now thanks to policies that aim to get every single India access to electricity and internet. There's definitely a technological boom happening in India as we speak. Important systems are emerging such as "UPI".

It's ironic isn't it how some wealthy countries struggle on their population decline problem while developing countries continue to populate the world. India should focus on improving its education system and economy to provide more jobs. Lesson learned from China, never dare to try population reduction policies. India should make drastic changes to the education system, encourage innovation, stem corruption, have foreign companies to have a tech partnership with Indian companies to sell products in the country and have competent people running government organizations. For instance, a trip to any major city tells us that the city needs civil, environmental and electrical engineers. Yet, the inept people running the governmental agencies make no attempt to hire and train engineers but instead fill their pockets with tax money.

If it is low, then the only reason would be young people in India give up hopes in looking for jobs, so no need to register to the government. As the result, the "ratio of people seeking jobs" turns out to be low.

My uncle is farming and he earn more than my parents who are working in Companies 2.5 million Indian rupees in a year are quite alot for an average Indian Farmer, plus you don't know their land price, the minimum price of their land is worth 10 million and it is minimum, I am not talking about maximum, one of old family friends grandpa sold his property for 1 billion Rupees, if you trust Indian per capital income, I am sorry to say that its a biggest scam, they just lie to save taxes. 😶‍🌫️ only Unlucky officer workers can't hide their incomes, they pay heavy taxes. While farmers not only benefit with crops, but also various government policies, it provide alot of benefits, insurance and even compensation, sometime they even lie that their crops were destroyed due to some natural disaster and can gain benefits. After farmers, we have huge number of street sellers whose income can never be investigated, but Indian peoples eat alot of street food, they easily make millions in a year's, so going to a factory to work for 8k to 15k is never a priority.

Because it is a developing nation, there is a lot of labor force in it; Which has no importance in today's modern world. Not necessarily. Think of a family with a farm. The bigger the farmer's family, the bigger farm they can cultivate. In India's case, they are a family without a farm.
India's leaders should cut deals with China like China cut deals with the US in the past when it was a low-income nation. There are jobs the Chinese people do not want to do anymore because of their increasing wage demand. Start with those jobs and work your way up. China has a huge demand for farm goods and countries like the US, New Zealand and Australia are filling those needs. Reasonably, India should be filling those needs. Instead it is still trying to please it's former colonial master and a sinking US economy.

In a global growing economy, population is a bonus both in terms of market and labor supply. China has experienced growth in the last twenty years partly due to its population bonus. However, global growth is seen to be declining. With AI and other technology coming quickly into play, demand for labor supply will drop. Population then could turn from a bonus to a burden. China is now facing unemployment problem. It has savings to persist for a short period, but it could not go on forever. India has missed the golden period to enjoy this population bonus. If it continues its population growth rate, I foresee more problems than anything.

🌹India's biggest tragedy is her population still doesn't understand era changes and what works for china will not work for India in today's time The indians in the comment here believe and hope India will be the same or surpass china one day by doing exactly what china have done by creating more human resources through reproduction but this is already the era of AI already. Ai will be the driving force behind technology and do the work in this world by now not humans.
Brunging humans into this world by now is going to turn humans into redundant surplus not resources.
They don't understand this at all.
