Most Horror mods I see tend to have a set pattern when it comes to entities/mobs showing themselves and it is almost the same every time it shows. It is very recurring and when something has a set pattern, you expect it, it becomes second nature to expect to be scared; thus making that mod less scary. What I am seeing from this mod is that the mob shows it self at random, there is no pattern. It builds up paranoia. Jumpscares and loud sounds aren't everything. Funny idea: you should try turning your microphone gain all the way up so that everything you say is super loud so when the man bear is within a certain distance of you and he starts to repeat what you say, it’s really loud and distorted.🤣
10:30 Thats actually a real thing in nature. Birds and other small animals will become silent when sensing a predator. So if youre out and it becomes dead silent, somethings probably near by.
Free Advice: when a forest suddenly goes silent, it means there is a predator nearby, as animals go silent into hiding when they detect one, so when everything goes silent....then its probably the manbear
I've heard of playing the long game, but this monster takes it to an extreme and I'm all for it! Suspense is big in horror, and the fact that we really haven't had a chance to properly remove that suspense just keeps adding to the stress. I can tell that this is a horror mod that actually has love put into it!
This mod is absolutely stellar and I can't wait to see more of it! The bear trap and how the manbear breaks your home while you're gone are pretty cool features! Also, I love how you mimicked the villager while trading with him. Freaking hilarious.
@@thyratking2099 he means that the monster could replicate his voice and not just copy him, but create its own phrases without the player having to say it.
You're definitely right about showing the Manbear. Only ever *Bearly* catching a glimpse of it adds to the horror more than seeing it regularly ever could!
16:59 "He's not gonna attack me at day, this much i know". well well well, it seems the manbear has decided that it doesn't feel like being limited by your design 21:01
6:15 this was foreshadowed by you being like "guys im not gonna sit in my house if he's here, I'm running away cuz if he wants me he'll just break my house" haha. Seeing the lights were gone and the door was open was terrifying, awesome mod
You know, in nature, crickets chirp at night to attract mates and at night because they are nocturnal. Usually making up the night time ambiance of any naturally empty area like a forest. But they also know to be silent when predators are in the area to not give away their position. So long story short: When you're in a forest and it becomes unnaturally dead quiet, it's most likely because a predator has entered the area, and is stalking.
There is something else about this mod that scares me, and I think it’s the abilities and mechanics of how it functions. It captures terror pretty well, and it doesn’t do the typical dweller things. I hate the feeling that you don’t even know it’s there, but it can just be hiding out of sight, and the worst part is when you look back on footage and see things that you never noticed
The pure atmospheric tension of this mod is amazing, and with it's advanced AI, and the fact we are still seeing new stuff each installment, this is one of the best Minecraft mods I have ever seen.
Great video! Have you considered digging a narrow escape/panic room off of your cabin? Basically just a ladder to go a bit underground and possibly leading to a secondary exit? I don't know how if the Manbear would be able to fit through, but could prove helpful if he attacks the shelter while you're inside. Regardless, you're doing infinitely better in this situation than I'd ever handle 😂
man in a server with friends trying to role play survive this thing will be fucking fun and pure terror i hope we can harm the ManBear as i know a western gun mod that will use agence this thing
I think it would be scary if the villagers could suddenly dart into their houses and lock you out when the manbear is near so you know you're in danger but can't get to safety
these slow buildup mods like this and the one who watches are so much better than the ones where the instantly appear and scream in your face after 3 seconds of seeing them
ı see the bear usually toys with you instead of actually just rushing and attacking even at encounter at last moment of video after breaking the house he retreats it isnt just a mindless monster or a predator hes sadist he sees you as a victim not a prey
Since you're doing a Series on this I'd recommend wooden walls with fences on the outside or Stone wall with stone gate and I'd upgrade the hut into a stone or wooden Outlook tower that give you a far sight view, and if you ever manage to get enough torches I'd use them to light up chunks of land around the base to see just about anything.
I think that the man bear should be able to destroy villages the player has visited, only when the player isn’t present. Or at least in the beginning while the player isn’t present.
Here’s a idea for the man bear so my idea is that there is a hidden stat that increases or decreases based on your actions and depending on the points he will do new and more aggressive actions but they still are mostly random. To make it feel more like immersive.
no it's further away a mountain or something you can see the manbear at 21:01 and 21:03 perfectly fine at first it's on left but to see it even better pause at 21:03 and look at the right corner on the river next to the dirt blocks at 21:03
Now i finally remember what this Mod reminds me of. Its the game "Do you Copy?" Just like in your Mod the Creature mimics the voice of their victims. Instead of an Manbear its a Goatman. And i really liked that game, even though it was short. Your Mod is like a perfect recreation of the creature in the game for Minecraft. Good work.
If there is one thing I've learned from the fnaf plus trailers, it's that suspense and ambiance is the only thing that matters. It keeps you gripping your chair. It keeps your muscles tight. Never giving you a chance to loosen and breath a sigh of relief. When you have something constantly jumping at you, it's just startling. You arent scared. You see it, then it jumps at you, kills you, and then relief. But having it stand there. Watching you. Barely visible, scaring the shit outta you and then retreating back into the shadows without ever even touching you... that is scary. Love this. Would absolutely join patreon if i wasnt completely and utterly broke lmao
If this mod was to be released to the public I’d actually go back and play minecraft again. The idea of a childhood favourite with such a dark twisted intelligent monster roaming around sounds like an amazing horror game. Please release this
13:44 a Compass always points to your original spawn point. So, it's quite useless if you don't have your house set up where you first spawn in the world. Great mod btw, leaves me on edge just watching it! Edit: oh how fun this mod would be with a few friends and proxy chat :]
What makes this terrifying is the adaptivity of the manbear. It immediately revokes the player of food, the most important resource in the game. Then it waits for the player to counteract this. What does it do then? Make it a living hell. You want to farm? Destroy the crops, haunt villages, place traps. You want to hunt? Eat any useful mobs. It waits for you to get used to your routine, then make you regret it. The fact that the Manbear needs nothing else but the reminder of its presence to terrify the player is UGH. The sudden silence that drowns the player in dread, the laughing children (almost a mockery, telling the player just who he's killed), the traps, the shadow that is visible enough to catch but vague enough to keep you there, waiting for affirmation. What a cunning and monstrous thing
The suspence, man! This Mod is terrifying enough to blow the Cave Dweller off its throne as the Scariest Mod ever made! This Manbear abomination is very big, very smart, and very much relentless, all mixed together in one package. It's very much likely that that thing was standing on top of the house, when you were having trouble getting to sleep when it said "There are Monsters nearby." I don't need to actually *see* that monstrosity to be terrified of it, because not knowing whether or not that thing is around is enough to get you on edge. Besides, not all Monsters are meant to be faught, take the Warden for example.
Seems like a seriously cool idea... but I'm just not confident that this is a mod. It seems more like the presentation for a mod concept than an actual mod (with scripted sequences, acting, etc.). Here's hoping it gets released, though. Whether or not this is fake, I'd definitely play with it.
Little does he know, that there is a 6 block tall bear that he made yet he doesn’t know what it looks like. The name reminds me of South Park: manbearpig
The silence. I've hear the best thing you can do is sit low to the ground with you back against a large tree. That way nothing can get you from behind and since you're low, what ever is there may not see you
Fun fact, if you don't hear anything (no crickets, no birds nothing) and anything you see is completely still, it means an apex predator is in the area, and the animals are trying not to alert it.
To make a suggestion, I think it'd be better if the bear trap was a physical object that the player could SEE before getting caught in it, allows for more dynamic interactions, lets the player wonder if that was for them or not. And I can imagine it getting annoying randomly getting frozen like that if the player isn't scared, and it takes away player agency if they can't actually avoid it. It also feels more like a datapack the way it is currently.
W vid, the narrating is top teir stuff and the editing is looking really nice. Your channel is growing so much which you deserve and its awesome to see you doing well! I cant say it more but keep working hard on these videos, because it all pays off. I still can't believe how crazy these mods are getting, and right now this mod looks incredible and I would like to try it out myself!
I think the reason this mod is so great is the mysteriousness of it and unlike the dwellers he’s not overexposed to the player he stalks you causing anxiety then fear
21:11 - Just saw the Manbear’s arm move when he broke that big of wood. I don’t know if I then saw him retreat or if he’s on the roof now (slow down the footage and be my judge). Honestly, this is the most terrifying mod I’ve ever seen. Imagine being in the Nether or the End with him stalking you. Could he even take on the Ender Dragon and the Wither?
12:31 Just a thought- maybe unequip your axe when you're in/around the house 🤦🏾 Idk why you even have it out, if you're looking for protection then make a sword- it's a better weapon- faster than the axe. I always have an empty slot in my hot bar so that I can be unequiped when I'm using stuff- that way I don't accidentally place or use stuff on the environment

What a pleasure to see someone discovering Minecraft again! You take me back 10 years ago.
Funny idea: you should try turning your microphone gain all the way up so that everything you say is super loud so when the man bear is within a certain distance of you and he starts to repeat what you say, it’s really loud and distorted.🤣
Ill try it
Thank you!
Nahh it will make him more scarier xD
"Screw the man bear, doesn't scare me at all!"
Top ten famous last words
15:00 as terrifying as that was, the threat music here is incredible. Honestly need to hear more of it, 10/10 stuff to terrify right there
Really it is!
It sounds like a heart beat but also sounds like footsteps, which is preety terrifying in both way!
10:30 Thats actually a real thing in nature. Birds and other small animals will become silent when sensing a predator. So if youre out and it becomes dead silent, somethings probably near by.
The shaders really help the manbear hide itself but I struggle to see how this would adapt to vanilla mc
Maybe turning the render distance down but I agree nonetheless
If you have a lower end pc, downloading any low end shaders + low render distance would work like a charm to get a similar effect like the videos!
@@akumavalentine I have a 3090 so zero issues for me, more talking about the people that don't like shaders or can't run em.
what is the shader's name?
Cool idea: AI voice trainer listens to voice input and when its good enough it says certain phrases with ingame player voices in proximity
thats alr a feature aint it, in the first video it records his voice and plays it back
@@thyratking2099 he means that the monster could replicate his voice and not just copy him, but create its own phrases without the player having to say it.
WOOOAA! WHAT JUST HAPPENED - "Must've been the wind"
Yesssss, that would add so much and make it even scarier
Mute people:
You're definitely right about showing the Manbear. Only ever *Bearly* catching a glimpse of it adds to the horror more than seeing it regularly ever could!
16:59 "He's not gonna attack me at day, this much i know". well well well, it seems the manbear has decided that it doesn't feel like being limited by your design 21:01
This mod is one of the few "cave dweller" style mods that can really scare you, and without the need for a jumpscare to boot.
6:15 this was foreshadowed by you being like "guys im not gonna sit in my house if he's here, I'm running away cuz if he wants me he'll just break my house" haha. Seeing the lights were gone and the door was open was terrifying, awesome mod
This mod is actually so good
Facts bro.
Yo who else wants this mod 🗣️🗣️
Holy moly lots of likes 😮

🥵
ayo?
real
“🗣️🗣️🗣️”
the manbear aint opera bro😭
Make it so it kills the animals for food around you so it makes it hard to find food... after that make it mimics animal noises so it lures you in.
Thats some psyco level of idea and im all for it
There is something else about this mod that scares me, and I think it’s the abilities and mechanics of how it functions. It captures terror pretty well, and it doesn’t do the typical dweller things. I hate the feeling that you don’t even know it’s there, but it can just be hiding out of sight, and the worst part is when you look back on footage and see things that you never noticed
"I don't want to be a schizophrenic again." XD
it lowkey made my day when you responded to my transformers question during the live chat
yes sirrr
timestamp ?
The pure atmospheric tension of this mod is amazing, and with it's advanced AI, and the fact we are still seeing new stuff each installment, this is one of the best Minecraft mods I have ever seen.
Great video! Have you considered digging a narrow escape/panic room off of your cabin? Basically just a ladder to go a bit underground and possibly leading to a secondary exit? I don't know how if the Manbear would be able to fit through, but could prove helpful if he attacks the shelter while you're inside. Regardless, you're doing infinitely better in this situation than I'd ever handle 😂
I would in a normal situation but hes not programmed for it, so I wont.
@idk_someguy Why man bear not go through tunnel? Is he stupid?
@@SteamedHams5he is a big boi

@@idk_someguywhy beard man not go through tunnel? Is he artistic?
man in a server with friends trying to role play survive this thing will be fucking fun and pure terror i hope we can harm the ManBear as i know a western gun mod that will use agence this thing
The fact that right when the block broke you could see it out side running away
Why man? Now I'm laughing XD
I think it would be scary if the villagers could suddenly dart into their houses and lock you out when the manbear is near so you know you're in danger but can't get to safety
these slow buildup mods like this and the one who watches are so much better than the ones where the instantly appear and scream in your face after 3 seconds of seeing them
18:34 you can literally see the eyes looking at you in the fog
There is nothing there you have schizophrenia
I think those are just lamps on the wooden fences, part of the village, but I thought the exact same thing
ı see the bear usually toys with you instead of actually just rushing and attacking even at encounter at last moment of video after breaking the house he retreats it isnt just a mindless monster or a predator hes sadist he sees you as a victim not a prey
the "ahh BLaK rABbit HEZAWLSI" at 14:53
this wa so funny man XDD
Since you're doing a Series on this I'd recommend wooden walls with fences on the outside or Stone wall with stone gate and I'd upgrade the hut into a stone or wooden Outlook tower that give you a far sight view, and if you ever manage to get enough torches I'd use them to light up chunks of land around the base to see just about anything.
my idea put walls 26 blocks away from your house, and use the tower to see into the woods around you,
Also clearing out all the nearby trees, so you can be certain when its the Manbear and not some trees.
Maybe the real Manbear was the friends we made along the way
Bro how have I never know about these mod’s existence? Great vid as always bro!
Someone in live chat said what if Manbear is Caseoh without dinner 💀
Nah dude wtf 💀💀
“Yep you’re banned! Have a good night…”
“More ban that guy! Bye!”
I like how this noticeably has some work put into it instead of being a soulless copy and paste dweller reskin
This is genuinely terrifying, I've never been more on edge like, "when's he gonna scare him." Sort of vibe, gg on the mod dude well done
I think that the man bear should be able to destroy villages the player has visited, only when the player isn’t present. Or at least in the beginning while the player isn’t present.
11:07 supposedly when animals go quiet in a forest it means there is a predator nearby
Here’s a idea for the man bear so my idea is that there is a hidden stat that increases or decreases based on your actions and depending on the points he will do new and more aggressive actions but they still are mostly random. To make it feel more like immersive.
Dude I love when he does the mimic voice thing, such an incredible feature. (This was my favorite part 19:26 ), please make more manbear videos 😂😹😹😹😹
19:11 on the top right corner was that the manbear.
no it's further away a mountain or something you can see the manbear at 21:01 and 21:03 perfectly fine at first it's on left but to see it even better pause at 21:03 and look at the right corner on the river next to the dirt blocks at 21:03
Its the sky
Now i finally remember what this Mod reminds me of. Its the game "Do you Copy?" Just like in your Mod the Creature mimics the voice of their victims. Instead of an Manbear its a Goatman. And i really liked that game, even though it was short. Your Mod is like a perfect recreation of the creature in the game for Minecraft. Good work.
18:48
Brody genuinely started tweaking
Most of the video when you zoom in, showing that manbear is there, I can't see anything. This really feels like minecraft: schizophrenia update
**holds an axe**
**is mad when he strips the bark off of a fully log house**
In other words, chief, put the axe down when you're inside.
Seems like a seriously cool idea... but I'm just not confident that this is a mod. It seems more like the presentation for a mod concept than an actual mod (with scripted sequences, acting, etc.). Here's hoping it gets released, though. Whether or not this is fake, I'd definitely play with it.
10:49
IDK: What do you hear?
Me: Uh, I don't hear anything.
IDK: Exactly! I don't hear anything.
Little does he know, that there is a 6 block tall bear that he made yet he doesn’t know what it looks like.
The name reminds me of South Park: manbearpig
Fun fact: when the forest goes silent, it means that there is a predator observing his prey.
Well made, well edited, well everything.
Very nice video, had me on edge the whole time.
The way this mod builds tension is so cool.
You're right. Lots of predatory animals stalk their prey and they're called ambush predators. A good example would include a jaguar.
“OMG THATS HIM” meanwhile all you see is 🌫️🌫️🌫️🌫️🌫️🌫️🌫️🌫️
To make a suggestion, I think it'd be better if the bear trap was a physical object that the player could SEE before getting caught in it, allows for more dynamic interactions, lets the player wonder if that was for them or not. And I can imagine it getting annoying randomly getting frozen like that if the player isn't scared, and it takes away player agency if they can't actually avoid it. It also feels more like a datapack the way it is currently.
At 21:02 you can see him standing there watching you.
15:44 WHAT DO I DO, WHAT DO I DO. bro just dig straight down
You monster
21:02 bruh the sillouette on the right side of the screen sent chills down my spine when you didn’t see it I literally jumped when that block broke
I think the reason this mod is so great is the mysteriousness of it and unlike the dwellers he’s not overexposed to the player he stalks you causing anxiety then fear
"It's not being stupid guys!"
"I don't know how the compass works."
**It was in fact being stupid**
12:31 I felt that 😩
21:11 - Just saw the Manbear’s arm move when he broke that big of wood.
It would've been awesome if instead "you can not sleep, there are monsters nearby" it said, "you cannot sleep, you are being watched"
Je Engels is echt heel netjes gozert! Ga zo door💪🏻💪🏻
I WANT THIS MOD I SWEAR IF HE DOESNT GIVE IT TO THE PUPLIC
Sorry for yelling love you vids ❤
Same here boss.
Crazy how I could tell this guy is Dutch after the first sentence, great video either way
10:03 I’m not sure if it was intentional but when it gets quiet in a forest it means there’s a predator nearby, at least that’s what I’ve heard lol
12:31 Just a thought- maybe unequip your axe when you're in/around the house 🤦🏾
Idk why you even have it out, if you're looking for protection then make a sword- it's a better weapon- faster than the axe. I always have an empty slot in my hot bar so that I can be unequiped when I'm using stuff- that way I don't accidentally place or use stuff on the environment
