Loved seeing this! Thanks for this reposting to remind us of SeaWorld achievements. It’s clear in this video the enrichment is to animal/trainer as with any animal/human bond. It’s another level and should continue with & for those committed to animal behavior, conservation and love for them. A true work in progress that takes time and persistence to better the accomplishments should continue with specific laws and guidelines.
Omg when I saw Dawn I freaked out😂 Kalina was an amazing whale. She was the first killer whale born in captivity. She is the original Baby Shamu. September 26th, 1985 is when this little lady was born and she grew up to be a super amazing whale, her favorite trainer definitely was Jenny, they had an awesome bond together. Kalina had five babies, Keto, Keet, a stillborn, Tuar and Skyla. Three of those babies were with Tilikum. Three of them are still alive which is Keet, Tuar and Keto. Skyla died in 2021. Kalina was also a grandmother and a great grandmother. On October 4th, 2010, Kalina passed away at the age of 25 of septicemia. R.I.P Kalina, you will always be the original Baby Shame❤
The clips of Kalina giving birth to Tuar aren't actually them. It's old footage of Taima giving birth to Sumar, Kenau giving birth to Kayla, and Kasatka and Takara post-birth.
I forgot the ladies name, the one with the short hair. Here relationship with Kalina was absolutely amazing. She’s also a great swimmer she makes it look easy but I’m sure it’s not. RIP Kalina & Dawn. I know Kalina had a lot of boys! Independent calves probably because Kalina liked being the baby and center or attention. I’m sad her old daughter skyla died. It’s a shame, a shame that this is the last generation of whales. Tuar is a big boy, he does an incredible job with Kyuquot. Those boys are huge and athletic

Such a cute one is one of my favorite killer whales!
People can argue as much as they want that Seaworld is cruel but anyone can see how strong the bond was between Kalina & Jenny it’s touching to see.

seems Kalina's personality was almost completely identical to Keiko's.
Keiko is my favorite orca whale. I got his movie called Free Willy.
