Amaya, Makani, Kalia, Nakai, & Kasatka [SEAWORLD LIVE] 7/18/17

- This was live on Facebook just a couple hours ago but I would love to share this 40 minute video to all of you as they had the Kasatka Family out in the main pool playing the water sprayers along with answering questions. AND YES, there were anti caps on the live video and it irritated most of us and most of us have desperately asked them to leave. They have even answered some of my questions as well!! You don't know how blessed I am to Kristi and the SeaWorld Family!
2:59 - Question: Who is the cutest orca of the San Diego pod? (Kristi was laughing and it was obviousXD)
5:41 - Makani (and Amaya) were just acting too darn cute with their tail dances XD
24:06 - Makani is just being too darn cute and funny at the same time with his enrichment device XD YEET!!
28:20 - Kate asked another of my questions to Kristi which was "Hi Kristi! Hello from Florida. What do you love about your job at SeaWorld?"
At the end of the video, Krisit answered a question I asked which was, "Who plays with the water sprayers the most during the day?" and she answers, "Hi Anya --- Makani and Amaya find the water sprayers very enriching. -- Behaviorist Kristi".

Amaya just died at age 6. Her mama Kasatka died years ago. This is not an argument in favor of captivity.
Her mama is Kalia... Kasatka is her grandmother
And kasatka was really really sick and suffering, she was euthanized..

The definition of abused is “treat (a person or an animal) with cruelty or violence, especially regularly or repeatedly.” Which does not happen. The trainers love these animals, but Seaworld itself is the shit show

Watching this makes me sick! This isn't how these beautiful creatures should live! They need to go to a rehabilitation center and be released!
Lol they can’t be released, it already proved bad with Keiko who was found washed up dead on a beach a month after they released him. He never found his pod. Plus most orcas in captivity are captive bred, having been at SeaWorld their whole lives. They would have no pod to go back to.

hmmm.. that is an interesting inquiry!
The only difference between salt water and fresh water is the amount of salt the water has, the oxygen level stays the same. H2O is H2O no matter the salt levels.
To actually answer the question, every creature has a salt balance they need to maintain, it's as essential as eating or drinking. Orcas, like most ocean creatures, get their salt from the water. If an orca was put into freshwater their bodies would start absorbing so much water to replace the salt in their body that their cells would quickly swell with water. After this, the orca will die.
The Orcas are such beautiful and intelligent animals I would love to go to Sea World to see them 🥰😊

Resting at the surface is Normal. Orca's are Mammals and like all mammals Orca's need to rest. Laying at the surface is normal. Floating at the surface alone barely moving and breathing is not normal. Orca are very Social creatures and like rest together.... So floating at the surface Of the water Alone is totally NOT normal.
then how do they sleep
they turn off half of their brain and the other half is used to make sure they don't drown or anything.

@@denisegesilva3082 Some say it wasn’t her ponytail Tilikum grabbed but her arm. The eyewitness accounts are inconsistent. Doesn’t ultimately matter in terms of employee safety which SeaWorld was legally required to improve in certain ways. As far as I know, this involved ending being in the water with the killer whales and using barriers to separate the animal from the trainer when working in close proximity. These applied to SeaWorld _Florida,_ not all the SeaWorld parks. Was hair even part of the OSHA ruling, Denise?

Amaya and Makani Nowadays don't hang out a lot. Can't believe less than 1 month later Kasatka died. RIP Kasatka she will be missed by the whole pod. Goodbye Kasatka

I respectfully request that all negative comments be blocked, deleted, or better yet not typed to begin with! I'll always be a 110% backer of Sea World and while I know their controversial I personally don't believe the hype and bs, its all from people who don't have all the facts! Without Sea World Orca populations in the wild wouldn't have near the successful lives that they do nowadays and all the Orcas that reside at the 3 Sea World parks plus the outstanding staff that helps to care for and ensure excellent quality of life for these magnificent and beautiful creatures!

@@emilytaylor4042 Blackfish is not a100% accurate. Kasatka was NOT crying for Takara. That was Takara's baby being a goof ball. Takara and Kohana were taken together and sent to Orlando. When that didn't work out, Takara was sent to Texas, where she became the Matriarch.

@@robinliengehlin1481 actually, Keiko was given live fish when he was living in that seapen of his whilst he was still alive. his natural instincts took over and he ate them whole. So dont go assuming you know everything. Lol.

They are cramped in pools! spending a lot of the time vertical and coming up with behviours! how wonderful for us! very entertaining!

I know as humans we love to see interactions between humans and animal however these are animals that should be swimming hundreds of miles daily hunting down catching their own pray. They should have learned different hunting techniques for different pray items by the matriarch of the pod and those techniques get handed down from generation to generation. Come on.... can you imagine being in a prison against your will! This is soooo sad and disappointing that the human race still thinks this is cute and acceptable! 😠😡🤬🤯

I love orcas. I have been for a long time. Thank you fir show me how you enrich your orcas. I always wanted to be a whale trainer but I’m visually impaired and it wouldn’t be realistic for me to rry. I went to sea world in Ohio in 1994 I had the best time of my life.

They are all cute and created by God almighty, thank God for these beautiful Orcas but they need to be free and back home into the Ocean, that where they belong and not in captivity.
