I disagree. The reason people dislike the word religious these days is because they associate it with self righteous people who pretend to keep all the religious rules and look down on everybody else. They also view it as joyless adherence to the rules of your sect and handing over your life to a hierarchy of pious religious leaders who try to manage your life and thoughts.
@@angelamargaret1 Once those rules are well practiced they become the norm. It never crosses my mind to steal or be jealous etc. It is not within my nature thus more trust is given. Without religion theres no trust. Just barbarism.
"To visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." How could anyone argue with that type of religion? However, here is the catch: "keeping oneself unstained from this world." Worldly people do not like that one, and will oppose you. Jesus is not of this world! Thank you Mark for what you are doing!!!!
Most people I encounter think of religion as having to carry out a lot of "meaningless rituals and following a bunch of rules or else be excommunicated." Usually people who have had a bad experience, or witnessed someone else having a bad experience with certain popular religions, and they want to be out from under any burdon. Understandably, but I also find that they dont want the burdon of sharing the gospel either, which , to me, is a joy.
I’m saved by Grace through Faith and obedience to God, what is sin the transgression of the Law, what law? If you love me you’ll keep my commandments, break one of my laws and you break them all, he who teaches my law is done away with will not inherit the kingdom of God pretty basic. Church’s have become corrupted by evil in my opinion. 🤔
Most people in the spiritual but not religious camp are New Agers or into other dangerous spiritual practices like divination. True Christianity must have genuine experience and relationship with God but it must also have sound doctrine and attachment to a local church.
Looks like Christianity is still divided on if you have to follow any laws, or just believe Jesus died for your sins. The comments section of this video included.
People can be relational with their religion...as well as religious with their relationship. Eternal life defined by God is knowing and being known. Eternal Life offered in exchange for trusting Jesus to be Who He IS... the only One named under heaven in which man can be saved. God's Only Son Permits Eternal Life! 😇🙏💪
No! That's not it... Sounds like you're way off here. I'd say it has more to do with the cultist connotations that the word "religion" has, and everything else that comes with it. "Spirituality" has everything to do with the 'soul' and 'inner self', without all of the unnecessary dogma associated with the term "religion." It seems that "religion" is dawning a more negative, naivete adjacent (close-minded?) definition, and "spirituality" encompasses everything pertaining to the 'soul,', including the knowledge and understandings of "religion." If that makes sense!? Hope that helps.
People who label themselves "spiritual" are the ones most likely to seek out a physical means to experience their own connection to the world rather than any kind of teachings that are associated with their own worldview. I could make a list a mile long of all the ways that people attempt to reach the peak of their own spirituality, and none of them have anything to do with their soul or sense of inner self because it requires and relies upon the use of the physical. Secondly, people also have a tendency to look for knowledge that fits their spirituality instead of accepting truth. People will never find "Christ consciousness", as its been labeled, thru these means when its leading them farther and farther from it. If youre not letting Christ into your heart and soul, something else finds its way in every time. Going against the grain is dogmatic in and of itself.
ALL RELIGIONS ARE THE ROAD TO GOD IT IS A LIE I DONT DO RELIGION- I FOLLOW THE WORD OF THE BIBLE AND JESUS DID NOT LIKE RELIGIOUS - I HAVE A RELATION WITH MY CREATOR AND SAVIOUR THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

I think that they don't want other people to associate THEM with religion, not that they just don't think it describes them accurately.
I agree people do see religion as rules and doctrine not Jesus and love.

People don't like submitting to authority or God's commandments "Selfishness dominates".
I listened to your testimony recently, and want you to know I really enjoy listening to you, your voice, your accent, and the content.
I believe in a relationship over religion with the creator . One world religion is another reason why .

Such a good topic, Mark. Thanks for addressing it.

You cannot be spiritual without being religious.

Religion means "bondage" in Hebrew
I want to talk with you sometime
Wait did you just say that Jesus ended religion?
A very misguided belief of modern Protestantism
