    Talking about the uncommon Steinberger GL2T, TransTrem, Allan Holdsworth Seymore Duncan pickup, Many people think this guitar is ugly, but what do you think? I think it is super cool and very beautiful :) th-cam.com/video/BxsQLKqw8XE/w-d-xo.html

    Perfect guidance! I totally agree your opinion. I play my GL2 1983 for 36 years and It is the privilege of the owner to experience this wonderfulness.

    I Love my Steinberger. Very easy to play, always stays in tune, strings hardly ever snap & looks superb! You can't beat headless guitars IMO, I have also recently ordered two Kiesel HH2X guitars.

      @Olwehn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the Steinbergers are just perfect. Some people might even argue, too perfect, lol.
      I have a friend who owns a Kiesel HH2X, signed by Allan, it plays amazing as well.

    Is it any good? Of course it is, and it´s been know since the 80´s. All Steinbergers are master pieces.

    I dreamed of it since I was a teenager, in the mid 80s, and finally gave myself one three months ago, for my 50th birthday: it's a white GL2T queen, it took a long world-wide search and a consistent amount of money but I just love it and, to me, that's THE GUITAR!!! Talking of Steinbergers, I also have a GM4S that I used for the past 15yrs, both on stage and in studio, and that's a spectacular instrument too!

    _color me jealous_ Beautiful instrument, sir! 🍻 I own one of the more recent Spirit wood models. It was setup nicely with hardware / pickup upgrades, and I'm very happy with it.
    Allan is my top guitarist, also. _"The Sixteen Men of Tain"_ is my all time favorite album. His entire discography is great, though.

    • @Olwehn
      @Olwehn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I am sure they are great as well! Yeah, Allan has done som much over the years, everything from Tonys Lifetime, Bruford, Gordon Beck to his own solo stuff, I tend to prefer the solo stuff, and especially around the mid to late 80's/early 90's as it is very unique kind of music, and his playing was at a peak.

    I just happened to think of this guitar the last time a tonewood debate came up. This is one of the best sounding guitars I’ve ever heard and it had no wood at all.

    The Steinbergers are great instruments. I own a white GM4T (1991) and love its playability, tonal balance and tuning-stability. The GLs are wonderful too ( i played a black GL4T for almost a year that was an exceedingly gracious loan of my friend ). Don't ever sell it ;)

    Thanks for an insightful look into the past of a unique guitar. Stephen Stills played an 80’s Steinberger GL2T-GR for a rehearsal with Neil Young and Buffalo Springfield at his home studio in 1986 -band rehearsal. It sounds really good during his solo, cuts through the mix -and looks very cool as well.

      @@Olwehn Fingerboard is phenolite, I heard. And yes, Steinberger rules, and yes, Gibson should have kept production running but I really think they bought the brand in order to "save" their good old guitars, not to promote headless guitars. Sadly, because of course, headless are better for everything, from balance, to tone, to tunning stability etc. You're right on everything. Only people our age know the real deal. I got mine since 1995, and still playing it every day. How old is your all white GL ? (video of my beloved black & white GL 2T : th-cam.com/video/jBYMhTpOwHc/w-d-xo.html) I add they ring like bells, and therefore, it's really easier to play legato. Your review is a good idea. I'll make one also one day, Ned Steinberger really deserve it. BTW; Nishikori Seki is actually trying to make a descent replica of the Transtrem. Check him out. Cheers.
