Don’t mess with it Lee. McLaren engineered that car, and exhaust, to work collectively. Sticking on a £5k exhaust by an aftermarket company, who don’t have the levels of R&D or experience that McLaren have, is sacrilege.
McLaren have to follow rules and regulations the aftermarket doesn't. Flow analysis and CAD software is available to anyone at entirely reasonable prices these days. It's not as hard as it used to be to make a proper exhaust.
But are the manufacturers selling OEM exhausts because the car benefits, or because their profit line does? I don’t know the answer. Just posing the question.
