We built this rustic wood queen sized headboard out of alder wood. Shot this with a Panasonic Lumix GH5 in case you notice a remarkable improvement in production quality.
Great video Bob! But you need a dust system ASAP! I just hung a Jet Air Filtration system in my 2 car garage and I use the Rockler a Dust Collector Wall Mount with small port hose for my sanders and router. Makes a huge difference and you’ll stay healthy without all that dust! Keep up the good work!
Best headboard video I've seen on TH-cam, most are just slapping together some board's, no thought or artistry. Beautiful headboard, thanks for sharing, new subscriber now after watching this video.
Where did you get your router bit and is the name of it. I want to use it on 3/4 white oak. I want to have that V on the jointing the panels for the look.
79 - 81” wide ; height depends on the style 48 - 64” be sure you have a way to attach to your mattress frame. You don’t want the legs that go to the floor to show too much unless you make them look really nice
I forget I think about $400. but I figured board footage added 20% and tried to buy widths that were close to the width I needed. Alder is not that expensive about $5 a board foot
This looks amazing. Yes I agree, it is way “cooler” that you built this yourself. Nice design, not to difficult for time and tool setup.
Thank you very much!
Great work Bob! I'm a fan. Thanks for sharing.
Nice job. I picked many great tips. Planning to make one out of drift/aged wood for our beach house.
Good call

Glad you liked it!
Great Videos
Great job.
TheJobberjon thanks
Where did you buy your Dust Mask?
Just getting started in furniture building. I have a drill, a circular saw, an orbital sander, and a jigsaw. What tool do you think I should get next?
I started with the same stuff. Need a bookcase, end table, coffee table, outdoor bench? Buy a router next.
Hi can you tell me what the router bit is called? Thanks great job
Yes, it was a "Yonico, tongue and groove set typically used for flooring" only $42 . I editied out a lot of the details out on that.
@@BobsTwoCarGarage thanks for the reply

It was a Yonico pretty sure I bought it on Amazon
A tongue and groove bit set
Do you have the dimensions of wood needed for a king size bed?!

@@BobsTwoCarGaragethanks! and what about the inside slats?
@@BobsTwoCarGarage I don’t have the tools you do so I was going to have Home Depot cut them for me
They are 4 “ wide but too many lengths to tell you . You can use a circular saw to cut those. There is lots of forgiveness if they fit in a groove.
how much did this cost to make ?
