How to install MySQL on Windows 10/11 [ 2024 Update ] MySQL Server & MySQL Workbench Complete guide

Hello Everyone! Today in this video I am going to step-by-step guide you on How to install MySQL & Workbench IDE (Community Edition) for writing SQL queries on Windows 10/11. Windows (64-bit).

Installing MySQL & Workbench IDE is very easy. Just follow the following steps and there you go to create your first MySQL database!! So let's begin.
Step 1. To install MySQL & Workbench IDE first you just need to download .exe file from the following Link:
dev.mysql.com/downloads/insta...
Step 2. After downloading MySQL run the .exe by double-clicking it.
MySQL is an open-source relational database management system. Its name is a combination of "My", the name of co-founder Michael Widenius's daughter, and "SQL", the abbreviation for Structured Query Language.
Step 3. You need to click the License agreement as shown in the video.
Step 4. Now simply install all MySQL products as shown in the video.
Step 5. Now after installation simply create a user and connect with it.
Step 6. After making a connection now it's time to create your first MySQL database. For that, simply type CREATE DATABASE yourdatabasename;
And there you go!!
The instructions in this video tutorial can be applied to laptops, desktops, computers, and tablets that run the Windows 10/11 operating system like Windows 10/11 Home, Windows 10/11 Professional, Windows 10/11 Enterprise, and Windows 10/11 Education. hey.. great video and sorry about the long comment but while installing... (at 4:40 in the video..) after clicking next,instead of going to installation, it's showing something called new path conflicts, where there are mainly two headings "Install Directory" and "Data Directory" each of them showing the location/path as C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 8.0
But under the Data Directory path, it's showing
"⚠The selected path already exists"
I just clicked next. It showed me a warning in a new window saying "You still have warnings with selected paths. Are you sure you want to continue?"
After clicking 'Yes' it went to installation and I clicked execute.
After that it went to product configuration and after clicking nex, a new window appeared saying
"Unhandled exception has occured in your application. I you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediatly.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
After clicking continue the window closed and in the product configuration I again clicked next but it directly went to installation complete. Then the MySL workbench opened but nothing worked.
I went to the controle pannel and deleted every thing and reinstalled but the same thing happened again... I tried changing the path of the Data Directory but still the same error. what should I do?

Thanks the video was helpful though at the end of installation rather than the apply configuration stage it took me to Connect To Server where I had to fill in your Credentials under ' User name ' field and then the ' Password ' field as well and then check if connection failed or is successful.
One very helpful observation after failing the connection is that I had to delete the already placed 'root' and then re-input it back again before filling in my password.

it would have been really better if you would have used the shell too in those tutorial, or just would have recommended to install shell, as many of us start by leaning them in shell, later we move on to workbench, so just make a video installation next time, including the shell
