- A gala presentation of the documentary "Hate to Love: Nickelback" is being held at Roy Thomson Hall this afternoon.
The film explores the band's status as one of the most successful but divisive acts in music history.
There will also be a free Nickelback concert this evening at the festival stage.

I love that they expressed the bullying from media and the irony involved. I get that they have to inform people however the narrative is what is important and needs to be directive in a positive light instead or give positive feedback instead of being negative at every turn. Work together instead of against each other.

What I love with Nickelback is they are down to earth, great friends with their band members and still thank the fans after so many years of being in the business. I think many celebreties forget they are nothing without their fans. I never understood the hate towards them those bullies are just yealous. Chad is right don't give up then the success might come. Not sure why they get hate as they've made some really good songs over the years that are still remembered to this day.
When I was a teen, we liked what we like, but we didn't spend all day going on about bands we didn't like, we just didn't listen to them. We all have to start talking about what we like, I suppose, and stop obsessing about what we don't like.

Im a Canadian and i grew up on Thrash Metal,Death Metal,Punk,Industrial etc.I was never a huge fan of Nickelback due to the type of ballads i wasnt intrested in the time.I did however see them live for free back in the early 2000s and i was blown away by the live performance they put on,i grew to appreciate who they were as a band and they had some kickass songs i did like and they did become very successful for a Canadian band which hasnt been easy for alot of bands coming from Canada unlike a band coming from the States or even Europe.
They should've just never been mixed in with metal they never called themselves a metal band yet metal fans hate them for bit being metal enough when that's not what they wanna be.
This band has some seriously kick ass songs, and I know they have some songs people don't like, but geeeezzzzz they hate that they've had to deal with........no right!
