Before the roundhouse kick, isn't the stance bituro gubi (twisted stance / oblique horseriding stance) instead of ap gubi (front stance)? Has it changed recently?
It was (and what I taught to my students when they want to use it in a real fight), WTF has changed many parts in taegeuk to something not really usable in a real fight, only something that's beautiful to see (just as requiring all kicks in taegeuk to target eolgol, ageum son doesn't need to hold opponent's neck, bituro makki doesn't need to hold opponent's weapon/hand/leg, etc.). The bituro makki should indeed be executed with a twisted ap kuubi to ease and increase power of dolyo chagi after.
