      @FortNine Your The Icon Pursuit Touchscreen Gloves link led me to Revzilla.com where it states the item I was looking for was discontinued. I was redirected to Revzilla because fortnine.ca only services Canada and I am in the USA. I found the Icon Pursuit CE Gloves as a possible substitute for $65 on Revzilla.com.

    The reason why the Alpinestars jet road has double layer gauntlet is because the first inner (gore-tex) layer goes under the jacket sleeve and the second on the top. This way any water running down your sleeve will stay out of your glove and drain out of the two eyelets at the bottom of the gauntlet just before the wrist strap

    winter gloves test pls...with the details how long they keep you warm and how long they waterproof :))....PLEASE!!!!

  •  4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Oddly all my leather gloves worked with my smartphones, even the 12 € gloves from AliExpress, and they never mentioned they would work on a smartphone.
    Btw, the winter motorcycle gloves from Lidl work very good in winter and rain, and they are cheap.

    Some great info Ryan, well presented. I just finished a mini-marathon of these F9 gear vids and I must say I'm quite impressed. My question although about the gloves, may be put towards some of the gear; jackets, boots etc. What is a good cold weather glove? I'm talking pushing 0 Celsius (-5C is my record). Heated grips sure are handy. Get it? Handy? Okay I'll stop now. Any advice is welcome.

    • @FortNine
      @FortNine  8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Hey! I have a *handy* little secret for cold weather: snowmobile gloves. They tend to be cheaper and warmer than the motorcycling equivalents. More bulky too, but let's be honest, cold-weather motorcycle gloves aren't exactly slim either. The Scott AC Premium GTX Gloves (www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/scott-ac-premium-gtx-gloves.html) come to mind as one of the cheapest ways to get Gore-Tex, which I highly recommend. If you're dead-set on buying a purpose-built cold-weather motorcycle glove, check out this video: th-cam.com/video/pid0sHmI1gg/w-d-xo.html . That Five WFX1 is *super* warm and about as technical as they come. ~RyanF9

    This is an unusually brief and shallow offering for F9. No mention of the gold standard for street/touring gloves, Held Steves? Held quality may not be what it once was as they face greater competition, but I still think they have offerings that blow away anything mentioned here in features for value, as well as offering precise fitting options. Aerostich Ropers are another fine option, but understandable that their US-centric branding wouldn't register here.

  • @nreyes238

    Hey, thanks for all the great vids. I am looking for
    something to get me through my early morning commute in northern California
    that ranges from the high thirties to the mid fifties (Fahrenheit…so…2-12
    Celcius). My A-Stars Valparaiso gloves are just warm enough right now, but I
    can tell they will not be enough in a month or so.
    I noticed you didn’t mention the Jet Roads as especially
    good for cold winter weather. Also, you didn’t include them in your winter gear
    vids (IIRC). But RevZilla markets the jet road and tech road as, basically, the
    warmest of all A-Stars gloves.
    So, what do you think of the Jet Road in terms of warmth?

    • @FortNine
      @FortNine  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Nicolas! The Jet Road is a good cold-weather glove and definitely warmer than your Valparaiso. I didn't include it in my cold-weather riding gear video because, for the price, there are warmer options. Five and Held make some stellar waterproof gloves with more insulation. ~RyanF9

    I took a small spill under 25 in my Oakley factory pilot gloves and had a shocking amount of skin missing on my ring and pinky finger. It's almost like it did nothing. Apparently they're only for tactical use, not riding.

      " U " should not be too lazy to left click on that thing that says " Show More " It's not rocket science as that option is in EVERY youtube content creator's video if he has a certain amount of lines of text or urls ( aka website links)

    Hi Ryan,
    Thanks for the information in this and other of your videos.
    I fully agree with some comments and request you to please put the names of the products in your videos, ideally at the same time as you review them. Also, I clicked on your link and I got a message that you serve only Canadian customers. Is that right? I am a motorcycle rider from The Netherlands.
    Thanks
    Anjaan.

    • @motoryzen
      @motoryzen 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. He did put the names of the products in his video. It's called LISTENING. 2. There's this think right below the name of the youtube channel you're watching called a Description. There is this thing you can click " Show More " . As the name suggests..guess what? There ya go.
      And yes, Fortnine is and has always been based right in Canada. The links will redirect you to Revzilla.com for applicable countries they sell motorcycle stuff to.

  • @tbillyjoeroth

    It would be more realistic if you wore a jacket instead of having your sleeves out of the way. Then you can see if they fit well over the jacket cuffs which few do. Put on a sweater or long sleeve shirt, put on a jacket with a liner and then put on the gloves and see how/if the glove gauntlet can keep air from going up your sleeves.

    question. for the size of the gloves, I can't choose a size option ! is there a way to modify it or is it only one size ?

    • @motoryzen
      @motoryzen 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can't choose a size option for motorcycle gloves, then you're shopping at the wrong vendor/website/business. revzilla is an awesome choice, but i'm not sure what country you're in.
