    Had this camera for a while now and was seeing if I missed any capabilities by watching this. One thing to know is that you can get detailed results on what triggered event recording on the micro SD card by utilizing pinch-to-zoom functionality on the timeline. Once you zoom in, it'll separate the events and it'll no longer say like "six events" it'll show what triggered it... so like a little person icon or a pet icon once you zoom in on the timeline. Not sure if that was an update or if it was just overlooked. Also, something to note is if you put an SD card in there but you don't pay for the subscription. It won't put the events on the timeline for scrubbing through the footage on the micro SD card.

    • @Wanderer001_Reviews
      @Wanderer001_Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was an update that came out after I put out the video. I hope it is because someone at wyze saw this video and thought yup we should change that. If you don't pay for a subscription looking back through the timeline of an sd card becomes very difficult to do.

    Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even th-cam.com/users/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.

    I'm looking and looking and looking and looking and looking and watching and watching and watching and watching and watching, and all I can find are incomplete videos on the Wyze cam 3. So I'm stuck in this crazy time loop I can't get out of! I didn't even think to write a note to myself on how to get out of the time loop because I was getting so dizzy! THEN! By happen chance I stumbled across your video and EVERYTHING when back to normal. I no longer need to watch any Wyze cam 3 videos! If I need a refresher, I saved this video because it's the ONLY video Wyze needs for their cam 3. They need to get word of what you have done for them here for sure! Have you ever thought to go directly to the manufactures to make "How To" videos for them? You would be worth your weight in gold! Oh! And thank you very much, Wanderer001! • @Wanderer001_Reviews
      @Wanderer001_Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a cam plus yearly subscription for 1 camera. So it is about $1.60 a month. If you delete a video from the sd card, yes that will free up space on it, but is generally not needed. If you have just the one camera then I would test out camplus monthly first to see if it gives you everything you wanted. If it does then move to a yearly like I have. If you end up with more cameras Wyze now offers an unlimited camera option for $10 a month. www.wyze.com/pages/wyze-cam-plus

    My v3 and outdoor wyze rechargable cams notify me of every vehicle headlight on the hiwy. The shaded detection doesnt block the excessive notifications.
    Shading the detection field doesnt help either. .Due to the winds here every plant moves and triggers the notifications every couple minutes. When its not windy they work fine. The dementions of my lot are 100x75 in an HOA gated community. so I have to get permission for topping the Blockwall another 2 ft to eliminate the traffics lighs that shine over it. They may not allow it at all.
    The roadway is about 3 below the top of the block wall and .and 250 ft away,
    (COMMENT?)
    My only choice is to put the cams at the outside perimiter block walls of the yard and have cams look back at the house I think.. Actually I preferr that. I used to have a cabled security sytem and placed cams looking back(hidden)hard to locate by trepassers entering the property i was at before. That was in Joshua tree and the hords of people that were hiking and trespassing drove me nuts,so I moved to town into the PalmSprings gated area to keep lookiloos out. That was 4 or 5 years ago. Now I have neighbors,but we dont have to socialize. and most are real quiet (55 and up crowd)
    KINDA A QUESTION/OR YOU OPINION
    I would rather run wyze flat white extention cables from the house to the perimeter walls than have to put in electrical boxes
    How many feet can the cams be distant from the base unit? I suspect 20 feet from the base is stretching it.
    I could ude the dolar cams,but I suspect they will have orher issues overwire feed v3 cams
    QUESTION COMMENT
    Solar cams would work,but Ill bet theyre glitchey ,have a short life and may have connectivity issues among other issues.
    If anyone has knowledge and exoerience,please let me know here.

    • @Wanderer001_Reviews
      @Wanderer001_Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      So a few thigs to unpack here. First yes headlights or movement can set the camera off. You can try lowering the motion sensitivity of the camera to help stop this. Also, you could try anytime you get these types of "false" notification send a report to Wyze telling them what it was. It can be done right from the triggered video. This way it will help train their AI to make less mistakes like that in the future. I have been doing this with my side yeard and have slowly noticed it getting better. The Wzye cam pan v3 is a wifi camera so if you had a mesh network setup with a nod closer to the actual location you would like the camer you could pretty much set it up wherever you like.

    • @Wanderer001_Reviews
      @Wanderer001_Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tommygunn7745 To overly simplify, a mesh network is a series of wifi routers that act as one single wifi router. A nod is just what one of these wifi routers is called when working as part of a mesh network. The idea being is you can spaec out the "nods" to give you greater wifi coverage. This mean that even with the camera having a limited range that it can be from a wifi router, using a mesh network you can bring the wifi closer to the camera by having several "nods" spread out to have the distance between the camera and wifi be shorter so that it actualy can connect.

      I do not show how to inserte an SD card into this camera. There is a little image by the slot that shows the side with the notch and how to place it. At about 4:20 you can see how I have the SD card in this camera, with the text of the SD card facing up.

      Yes, that may In fact be the reason why I personally have cam plus on all my devices, I've always a small
      fee even when you didn't have to pay, because I always was happy with the service and what Wyze was doing, still a great service and product. They are just a little bit off on that option, that would run customers away. It would make it too confusing for your average. Joe, thank you for your comment. Hope you have a nice day

    Replace the stainless screws connecting the camera and the bracket. They are junk and will rust out in less then 6 months. I have 6 camera and they are great, but the poor quality of the screws lets down a good package. Most of the reviews you see on youtube don't go past the first week, so take that from a long term user / customer.

      Thank you for sharing your experience. Generally I don't mount these so I was not aware of the quality of the screws. I do normally use a camera for at least a month before I do a review to see what might come up with everyday usage.

    Great review. Too bad wyze has rendered this cams sd card useless! Once a fantastic product ruined by its own company without paying extra for cam+ this is basically a baby monitor you cant view your sd card no timelapse? There is at this point no use for a sd card! The forums are flooded with people having the same problem. Wyze has no answers and does nothing? Thanks for the info. I will check out those cams.
