    Woah, talk about a river counter loco haha! Dang, that’s unbelievable how detailed it is! Sweet video, very cool unit!

      Yes haha! I’m not too sure how much farther they could have gone with the details... hmm...
      Maybe they’ll have functioning controls in the cab next too 😝

    The intro with the street repairs on the crossing looks so cool. Great work. The balance of the video was nice as well👍

      Thank you very much! I try to have the videos be as informational as possible without dragging them on. This video started as almost 45 mins if video. But that would be WAY to long.

    ScaleTrains is going above and beyond with roadname and roadnumber specific details. Last year I purchased their Conrail C39-8 #6019 and I'm immensely impressed.

      They always have been obsessed with making the best models on the market. And they have! They also are kind enough to make the less expensive models as well without sacrificing quality.

    Nice! Got 8888 myself. I turned down the engine sound, and upped the bell and horn volume. I couldn't get the short hood headlight to work on mine. :-/ Still, I'm quite happy to have a SPARTAN CAB!!! (As per Mike Lott, the Alabama truck driver that bought all the RPP B40-8 shells and Athearn Dash 9's from Dreamers Hobbies back in the day, to kitbash several of these!)

      Glad you like it! And there are a few lights on this unit so it is not a surprise for there to be a few bugs!

    • @fuzzyworld3
      @fuzzyworld3 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That bearing cap that doesn't rotate might be a bug as well. Mine has made numerous laps around the layout, and I'm noticing that the alignment between the rotating bearings and the sideframes isn't exactly ideal. Neat feature, but the plastic is wearing, that might be why the extra caps are included.

      I think they put Operator trucks on this unit at the factory.

    Great video! These NS "top hat" along with the ATSF/BNSF "gull wing" Dash 9s have always been some of my personal favorites! Interesting that the Scaletrains.com Dash 9s are the first non brass versions to feature see through grills and true road specific detailing (Athearn's Roundhouse version does have a few road specific details presenton its model) which alone is amazing considering that its been over 20 years since Athearn released its blue box version way back in 1997!

    • @Track10Trains
      @Track10Trains  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! It is quite the unit! And this will out perform any brass unit in driveline capabilities. It runs amazing and I couldn't recommend one more!

      @@Track10Trains yeah, I eventually plan to acquire a rivet counter Dash 9 sometime. I already have a couple of Operator Dash 9s and even though they lack any real road specific details, they are still very solid locomotives and very smooth runners as well!

    Is it me or does the horn and bell seem to be set lower than the prime mover?

    • @Track10Trains
      @Track10Trains  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Horn is a perfect volume in person. Over the video it seems to be quiet. But if you have one you can always change the horn volume.

    How is it possible that Scale Trains can install roller bearing caps on the front trucks but not on the rear trucks?!?? That just doesn't sound right. If so, I'll be selling mine ASAP!

    • @Track10Trains
      @Track10Trains  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a simple mistake that is unnoticeable at all while the unit is running. I wouldn't sell your ScaleTrains locomotive because one that someone else had has a small issue though. What I think happened was they put the operator truck side-frame on the rivet counter model and then installed all the rivet counter details. But it just didn't have the moving baring caps.
