I love the piano aspect of the battle, At certain times it was menacing, almost creepy. It added a very ominous suspense to the battle that I very much enjoyed. I'd say keep it up!
The music adds an extra layer of epicness to the game, I have several replays as well, they're not exactly close, but they usually have some form of cool ending. One ends with a unit of grenadiers marching down a road, break a few units, and do a bayonet charge before breaking themselves. Would those be alright?
I like the classical music. Let's face it, Rock and Rap does not go with 18th-19th c battles. But which pieces is tricky. Your choice was sombre but too drawing room, but the Eroica would be a distraction.

that gunpowder smoke rising from the shots are truly beautiful. napoleon is truly one of the, if not most beautiful total war game if we ignore how long ago it was made
If a Mod maker reads this, imagine having maps like these, with smaller armies in say Medieval Mods, where you have to send scouts out, who report back. So you only see what you can see as army, but not that far. This means that you have the tension of finding an enemy and where splitting up or preparing towards the wrong side may spell ruin. (Still hoping for the day, little hills become more possible too, where one can hide troops or more easily defend hill tops)
Like in Company of Heroes 2 with true sight mechanics, would be pretty awesome in TW, but will prob make fight a bit longer though. In Coh 2 matches of 4v4 often goes over 1 hour mark with tanks, planes, heavy arty, submachine/machineguns, so in TW it might go to over that mark :D
@@deno202 Great remark. I'd say it would make empire building more realistic, read difficult, and keeping what you have already a challenge. Thus probably a no for many players, but a golden idea for a mod popular among more grim realism seeking players.
@@KootFloris Nowadays I noticed players seeking more "realistic and survival" type of game in all genres XD But industry is focusing more on casuals who would prob play game max 100 hours then delete it XD

the classical music it just adds so much to this battle, as you said it's like watching a painting tell us it's story. It just adds this somberness and epicness to the battle
32:30 is such a beautiful scene. The music definitely makes this more satisfying. The cavalry charges look so heroic and yet wasteful really highlighting how outdated the tactic had started to become. Also it's amazing how jarring the calm during the positioning phase is when posed against the battle phase.
You are on a soldier in this battle and then the general says ''Well, the time is up, the war is over, come on, hurry up, I have a TV show in the evening'' then everybody leaves
Hey Apollo GREAT job as always man. I really enjoy watching your overviews of these battles because of how much you enjoy and point out the little things that further immerse the viewers into the battles. That's exactly why I imagine many people are here besides being war history buffs. Anyway I died laughing when you mimicked the sound of shell shock because that's exactly what I was imagining while watching lololololol you can almost feel the Shockwaves that must be rattling their digital bones with every cannon shot!!! Keep up the good work!
I love it when Russia brings its a-game to a match like this. Something about their willingness to go for the bayonet charge is so damn satisfying and intense.
Russia did an amazing job. When the austrians got charged out of position I thought the allied forces would totally lose this. But while everyone else was playing NTW3, Russia was playing 4D chess.
Love the classical music for those, I think 2d movement of Beethoven's 7th symphony and Mozart's Lacrimosa for the climactic moments would just be chef's kiss.
I ran the numbers and this is what I got: The French: 69.5% loss rate, 1.49/1 loses to kills The Polish: 63.1% LR, 1.34/1 L/K The Franco-Polish team: 68.5% LR, 1.34/1 L/K, 473 team kills The English: 75.8% LR, 1.34/1 L/K The Spanish: 55.1% LR, 0.8/1 L/K The Austrians: 66.7% LR, 1.39/1 L/K The Russians: 54.9% LR, 0.55/1 L/K The Allies: 62.4% LR, 0.89/1 L/K, 423 team kills
*The Russian player was phenomenal and probably almost single handedly won this fight for his side.* He was an amazing strategist and always saw the big picture of the battle and not simply the enemy in front of him. He saw his Spanish Ally struggling and potentially crumbling to the far left French player’s attack. He sent some units over and lots of cav and he coordinated an epic charging attack that unraveled the French lines and destroyed their artillery. There is no telling Spain would have been able to hold off the French especially with the good positioning and effective artillery the French had. That French player was impressively aggressive and with Russias quick thinking and support, was able to send that French player on the run for the rest of the battle with Spain having much of their army preserved. Meanwhile, the russian player held his lines in front of him against his own French opponent. He juggled two fronts which requires great attention and multi-tasking. The russian player’s other two Allies, the British and Austrians fought hard but ultimately caved. This nearly became a crushing defeat for the coalition Russian side and Allies as it dissolved the entire left-flank of their force. But he held his lines and then moved them to right flank to join power with the Spaniards. Meanwhile, Poland after assisting in Britain and Austria’s demise, ignorantly pursued small elements of the Russian force instead of committing their sizable force to the backside of the weary Russian lines fighting their French teammates. Then Poland failed in a daring charge up a hill to kill less enemy troops than they had. This knocked Poland out. The Russian player knew keeping Poland busy and far away from his wavering lines fighting the main French army was important and the Polish player seemed oblivious to his strategy. Once poland was dealt with russia directed all of their attention with their Spanish ally to the remaining strong French army. In a desperate fight, the French were slowly getting the upper hand and nearly had Spain on full retreat with the Russians being pinned alone against almost three French players. The French missed a valuable opportunity to get aggressive and seize the day by overrunning the now depleted and cut down Spainish force. But instead they remained on the defensive turtle strategy. The Russians brought glorious cav and a few great units to barely save the day by overturning the French flank of their army and pushing them out. The Russian player was phenomenal and he had either sole responsibility or partial responsibility for the defeat of every opposing player. I can confidently say with him, their is no telling Spain would have held France off initially. Or that poland would have been at bay. Or that in the final standoff, the French would have been defeated as his Spanish ally was on their last limb. He arguably single-handedly won the battle with reasonable assistance of course and he is a great example of a great strategists. You can’t just simply see in front of you but the big picture. Almost everyone else was playing checkers while Russia was playing chess. What a great battle to watch!
