- I bought my dream car yesterday after a 10 month wait. The 2024 BMW i4 M50 was worth the wait and I look forward to sharing updates with you on my driving experiences. My first impression is WOW!

Congrats on your dream car great choice. Im so glad you didt get a Tesla model 3 ,they are quality crap EVs. I used to own Model Y never again will i own a Tesla.
My friend who owns a 2022 Model Y Performance, drove my car and immediately had buyers remorse. If you are able to charge where you live, Tesla's public charging advantage is negligible. I easily drive over 200miles round trip on a single charge so there's very little need to worry about non-tesla public charging problems (unless I am driving over 250 miles - maybe a couple times per year). I used to reason like you when it came to buying brand new cars. But many years ago, I heard a song by the (at that time) young but very talented Swedish artist Laleh. It changed my perspective on getting new cars, and more importantly, on how to live my life in general. If you are fortunate enough to treat yourself well today, why wait until tomorrow? There is nothing wrong with that, as long as you also remember to treat the less fortunate equally well.
She sings:

Did you lease it? You’d feel the depreciation when you finance instead of lease. Nothing wrong though. Congrats!
I bought it because I plan to hold it for 5 to 6yrs before changing. Depreciation is definitely a concern but in 2023, you could barely find a used M50 and if you did the price savings wasn’t much. I had to have the M50 and so far no regrets. 🙏🏾

Congrats, question? Do you beleive that if you reward yourself "knowing you can afford" actually helps moving you forward?
The idea is to buy what you can afford and therefore increase your earnings to surpass what you can afford. The reward comes after you've exceeded your goal. Then you set new higher goals.
