I feel there there are 2 categories of cover songs. 1 is the kind where the artist takes the original song and melds it with their own style to create something new and hopefully interesting, example, your Chop Suey Cover. The second is where the artist tries their hardest to sound as close as possible to the original to show their love and respect. You might have released the best example of the second type of Cover in all of music. Amazing tribute to a legend!
There isn't a ton of wiggle room with a song like this either and like you mentioned, you just want to show the utmost respect to the music which was on full display here.

Bodom was one of the bands I first found myself at the small HMV metal section. Ended up buying all their CDs. Got to see them live at Wacken. Unique metal sound. Awesome fucking cover. I kid you not, I didn't have Bodom Beach Terror saved on my Playlist and had it on shuffle and when this song came on, I was like, oh hell yeah Bodom Beach Terror. Midway through the song I decided to get my phone and save it to my Playlist and then I see it's from a band called Nekrogoblikon? I was surprised because I couldn't really tell the difference. Very good cover and a new fan.
