Thank you for these updates! We always appreciate them. It’s underwhelming to hear that it’s going to be a lap pool at the Sienna Oaks Recreation Complex. Especially when all the other lap pools always look empty but the pools with slides and other kid areas are packed. Everyone I’ve talked to is bummed to hear it’s a lap pool. Do you know who we could voice our concerns to? The HOA? The developer?
I asked the developer and in their words, "there are actually 2 pools projected for Sienna Oaks Amenity Center. One “competition” style with lap lanes and one for play (basketball, volleyball & a Climbing wall). Please remember things can always change - but it’s a reasonable description." I missed the play pool description at the meeting I guess.
Contact www.txdot.gov/about/contact-us/complaints.html I did and said we really need the expansion. I received this back as a reply, “Thank you for contacting TxDOT Houston District. We have received your concerns. The planned project is currently in the final design phase. The widening project for FM 521 from CR 56 to SH 6 estimated to let at the end of 2026.” I don’t know what “let” means so I asked if it starts or finishes at the end of 2026. That was on December 23rd and I didn’t get a response. I think I mentioned in the video to please submit complaints to TX DOT to help push this along.
It wasn't mentioned in this meeting. Did you see the article in Community Impact in October? "Meanwhile, discussions are also ongoing to determine other ways to improve traffic flow along the corridor, San Miguel said. He said options engineers and stakeholders are considering include: Expanding Sienna Parkway from four to six lanes between Highway 6 and FM 521 Replacing some intersections with roundabouts to ease traffic flow Expanding Sienna Parkway would be a multiphase project that would cost roughly $127 million, Kumar said in an email. Johnson Development would fund about $47 million, while the remaining $80 million would be handled by the city, county and other funding partners. The project is still in the conceptual planning phase, so there's not yet a funding mechanism in place for the non-developer portion of improvements, he said. However, he noted the county is exploring funding options, and officials with local municipal utility districts and levee improvement districts have said they're able to contribute to the project cost." "communityimpact.com/houston/sugar-land-missouri-city/transportation/2024/10/31/officials-evaluate-future-sienna-parkway-improvements-to-address-growth/
So basically we’ll all be able to play pickle ball all over Sienna, but will still need to drive out to Highway 6 for anything worthwhile. It must be the worst planned community in Texas.

Definitely the developer. The HOA isn’t involved in building it, just maintaining it after it’s finished.

Thanks for these updates, always look forward to the new videos.
Thanks Sergio!

@@bjlawler I was hoping for best update video EVER but I'll take YEARS 😜
Great Video! How accurate are these target delivery dates for these new sections?
Construction in general seems to be never early, often late...
