- This video will show you the secret to making a perfect sublimation tumbler with no ghosting and what I do to make my tumbler seams seamless! This video will show you how to tape your sublimation tumblers and shrink wrap them before placing them in a convection oven.
UPDATE: Since I have made this video I have found that a higher temperature has worked much better for my seams. Every oven is different but I have found with mine that every tumbler I make has a flawless seam (Even Black Tumblers!) if I bake at 380 for 7 1/2 minutes! You just have to find that sweet spot with the type of convection oven you have!

I've watched all your videos and I must say, you are really easy to follow! I went step by step with you on how to set up my printer to how to make a tumbler. My first tumbler came out perfect! No seams, no ghosting, vibrant colors. I love it! I can't wait to make more. I'll continue to watch your videos over and over until I know each step by heart. And I'll be looking forward to more of your videos to come. Thank you so much!
Thank you! I am happy my videos are helping you! Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video!!! I have been struggling with ghosting and ruined so many tumblers! I tried your trick this morning and I can't believe it worked!!! You saved me many headaches! Thank youu
I am happy it helped you!
If you didn’t point out the seam line I would never have seen it. This is the best seamless Tumblr I’ve seen 👍🏽
Thank you!
This is the absolute best video, my first tumbler turned out great shared it with so many others who loved it as well 🙏 thanks so much
Thank you so much!
What a great job…..wow. I feel inspired. I have been waiting to start because I was scared but thanks to you…..I’m going to go for it. Thanks so much
It is not that hard once you have tried a few times! You can do it!
Thank you so much for such an awesome video. You were very detailed and gave excellent step by step instructions. After messing up several tumblers, and almost giving up, I found your video. This was extremely helpful. I still had a small amount of ghosting at the bottom, but that was due to me not getting all of the wrinkles out. Had a slight seam but it was barely visible. Thanks to you, I will keep trying. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
I am happy this video was able to help you!
What should I do with the messed up tumbler?? I have watched videos where you bake them and put a dark image but I did that and did not worked for me.
This was perfect!! I made my first sub tumbler according to your directions and came out perfect. thank you!!
I am happy my video helped you! Thanks for watching
Put a piece of tape on the wrinkle (air bubble) and pull it opposite way and pull that air bubble out and tape to the bottom or the inside of the cup, depending which end.
Your tumbler is beautiful! My little girl is watching it with me, she's 11 and when she saw it she said now I want to do it 😀
Thank you for your video.
Thank You!
Your videos are so simple and effective! You explain everything with ease and make taking on these things for the first time seem not so intimidating. So thank you for that!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching
Nicely done! I love the details you've provided and your finished tumbler is fabulous!! Thank you so much!
Thank you!
I love your tutorials. I started watching your videos before I purchased all my equipment for sublimating tumblers. The first tumbler I made did not turn out that well; however, I suspected that those tumblers might not be made for sublimation, even though they were listed as such. The second tumbler made, I had the same results. I followed your directions precisely. I knew it was not your instructions; however, the tumblers were at fault. Thankfully I did not buy a lot. The next set of tumblers I purchased is fantastic. I bought them about a month ago and finally had a chance to sublimate one this morning. I followed the same steps as before; however, this time, Success! Perfect tumbler; flawless seams. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I'm gifting that tumbler along with a sublimated shirt to my nephew, whom I'll be seeing later today. The images I used were One Piece (Manga.) He's going to be so excited. I want to thank you for your informative videos. They are my favorites for sublimating cups/tumblers. I love that you are so meticulous. I'm the same way with my crafts. I take pride in my creations and enjoy the process.
I'm looking forward to sublimating more cups/tumblers! :)
Thank you for watching! I am happy that my video helped you achieve the results you were looking for!
Wonderful video Super "T" you are the man! You make that look so easy.
Thank you very much!
This might be the best sublimation tutorial for tumblers I've watched. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! The design was purchased from ETSY
What shrink wrap do you use mine always melts at 350 degrees for 6 mins causing it to lose pressure

I used this method for my first sublimation tumbler and continue to use it. It works really well and no seams!! So happy I found this tutorial.
Thanks for watching
Way too much time prepping for me
Thanks for watching!
Thank you SOOO much for this video. I received everything I needed to sublimate tumblers last year and kept failing. I basically just put it ALL to the side and had given up. I had someone order one for Christmas and hopped back on TH-cam to give it ago again. My tumbler turned out PERFECT. Thank you for your excellent guidance.
Thank you! I am happy my video helped you!

Omg thank you so much... I made one today without shrink wrap and placed it on a mug heater and I had many hosting on it :( so thank you very much for sharing how to do it correctly... I have one question... Can I use a toaster oven?
Wonderful! A convection oven is recommended for best results. If you have toaster oven and it has a convection feature, you can fit a tumbler in it and it is not too close to the heating elements you maybe able to use it.
Thank you so much! I wished I had watched your video first! You were precise and gave all the information so professionally from start to end. Thank you, thank you!😀
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
I don’t make tumblers but wow you make it look so easy! They look amazing. Sublimation looks way easier than vinyl wraps.
Thank you!
Thank you! It takes some practice and patience but once you get the hang of it pretty easy
Great video! So detailed. I am looking into sublimating tumblers/cups
I will use this process. Thank you for sharing!!!
I am happy my video helped you! I have a newer version of this video that has some improvements! th-cam.com/video/evzDoRUjt3w/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!
you can also do this with dtf printer
I have spent 2 years and I can't count how many tumblers and could never get them right until I watched this video!! Thank you so much for giving me my "want to" back!!!

Imagine doing 100 tumblers like this or even 300. way to much time.
I have done over 1000 tumblers like this! Thanks for watching!
Hi. I see you did one 6 months ago with the sleeve. You had different temperatures and time. Which video should I use ?
It depends on your convection oven. So it is hard to give an exact time and temperature. When we first started we were doing 350 for 5 1/2 minutes. After a while our oven became less efficient so we increased our temperature to 380 for 7 1/2 minutes. It took several tests to find the correct temperature. We found at the higher time and temperature our seams were perfect even with black designs. Unfortunately you may have to do a few tests to see what temperature and time works best with your oven. You could start with 365 degrees for 6 minutes and adjust from there. If your blacks have a greenish shade you need more heat and or time, if they are brownish shade less heat and or time. Thanks for watching.
This video was awesome. I've been struggling with seams lately, I didn't know there were two seams you had to smooth after taping before you sublimated. I can't wait to try it and see if this is what I'm missing.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
Your video is giving me the confidence to try again! I’ve made 3 so far and couldn’t get it right. Thank you for this video!
You can do it! Thanks for watching!
Hi! I'm new to this and my tumblers always get ghosting. Which brand shrink sleeve did you use?
amzn.to/3QLEkG5
I do my tumblers at 400 for 6 minutes. I found when I started running my nail up and down the seams it made all the difference in thr world. I also roll the tumbler on its edge on the table after taping. Good video.
Thank you! I have an updated version of this video it has some new tips! th-cam.com/video/evzDoRUjt3w/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!
Wow! Beautiful, I will be trying this way the first thing in the morning😊 Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you for watching
You are such a great teacher, thank you! May I ask where you get your designs?
I mostly purchase them from Etsy
Cool paper cutter....do you know how well it works on HTV Vinyl?
Sorry I don’t know that! It works great on sublimation paper and shrink wrap!
What would be the temperature & timing for a heat press? Can you still us shrink wrap? What measurements is the image?
380 for 8 minutes. Yes you can use shrink wrap in the oven. Size 9.4 W x 7 H
I have never seen anyone put their tumblers in water to cool before, I will be trying this!
I only use room temperature water
Beautiful tumbler ! I don't do sublimation yet, but watching you has made me want to get started.
Glad I could help
Thank you!
I burn my first tumbler using a toaster oven. What temperature should I use?
Does your oven have a convection setting? Also how close are the heating elements to your tumbler? You need some room between the heating elements and the tumbler to prevent burning. I use a convection oven and my temperature is set at 350 degrees and I bake for 5 minutes and 15 seconds turning once at 2 1/2 minutes. Also use a internal oven thermometer to check the actual temperature of your oven since the actual temperature can vary from your temperature setting.
Great video... We've had our sub printer for almost a year now and all I've done was a test on material and I wasnt happy with it, so I set it all aside till I did some more research. And I came across your video. And you have inspired me to give it another try. A couple questions. Where do you find your sub images? And also where can I get that shrink wrap you use? Again thanks for this video, it's very informative.
Thank you! I get my designs from Etsy and my shrink wrap from Amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B08THBGTJ2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Will try! thank you! Was having issues with ghosting at the bottom with some dark images
Good luck! Thanks for watching!
Wow your seam line is invisible great job will try your method
Thanks for watching!
Did all this and my shrink wrap always melts in the oven and get ghosting and lines all over. I give up
Try a different brand of shrink wrap that can withstand more heat. If your shrink wrap melts you will get ghosting and seam lines.
Can we send you our sublimation paper to try?
Yes I will try it!
Thank you great work, may I ask what kind of software are you using for printing, I am using creative studio but I can't print the correct size as yours for my tumbler, many thanks
I use Affinity Designer. I have that video on my channel also
Hold up wait and pause. Tell me more about this tape dispenser please?!?!
Go to Etsy and search Sublimation Tape Dispenser. There are many choices but they are all mostly the same!
BOOOOOM! Game changer. Thank you!
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
Good job
Thanks
omg how much for that tumbler? Do you have an IG?
Sorry no IG. You can find it here www.snazzymoon.com
The shrink wrap doesn’t melt? I tried this in my oven and it melted to the bars . Oops
There are many different brands of shrink wrap and some are more suitable for higher temperatures than others. The brand I use stands up to my setting of 380 degrees. Here is the link if you want to try it! amzn.to/3cDBsMl
What is the shrink wrap for? I put mine in a tumbler heat press without a shrink wrap.
This shrink wrap is used when sublimating a tumbler in a convection oven
Are you using light or dark transfer sheets??
I use Asub 125 sublimation paper.
May I know where do you get your Tumblers?
www.aghtumbler.com
Can you tell me what printer, paper, and ink you used in this? I use an Epson 4700 eco tank hippo ink and moustache paper…and my transfers aren’t near as bright as yours
I used an Epson 4760 ecotank with Hiipoo ink and Asub 125 sublimation paper. I now have 3 printers. ET4760, ET15000 and F170. I use Printers Jack, Cyclone and Epson Sublimaton Inks. I mostly use Asub 125 paper but I have started using Koala sublimation paper also!
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns thank you…maybe it’s the printer settings I am using then…I will try different ones..
Great advice, thank you so much
You are so welcome!
What kind of paper your using?
I am using Asub 125 paper. Thanks for watching!
best video ever. Thank you so much
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Hello just ran across your video, I'm going to try your technique tomorrow for sure, I'm new at this at the ripe age of 61, the things i get my self into. lol trying to make tumblers for grand kiddos for Christmas. I have messed up five tumblers so far, Wish me luck, It always look so easy. But thank you for the video.
Just takes a little practice. Good luck you can do it!
I'm "new" at the perfectly ripened age of 69! I love this very informative and straight forward video
Can you put the beer can glasses in the convection oven?
Yes. That is how we do ours with shrink wrap. Thanks for watching!
Your video helped me so much with ghosting on the ends. !
Excellent! Thanks for watching!
what printer do you recommend? beginner here
Any Epson EcoTank printer will work fine. If you plan to do extra large t-shirts or 30 oz tumblers then you will need a large format printer like the ET 15000 or ET 8550. If not any Epson ET will work. Or you could get the Epson F170 which is a true sublimation printer and is already set up for sublimation.
Does your design overlap at all?
Yes I overlap approximately 1/8 " but no more than 1/4"
Do you overlap the seam a little or is it butted flush?
If you have a design that wraps all the way around the glass you should overlap approximately 1/8" but if you have a design like I have in my video which not a full design wrap then you can butt the edges because there is not any ink in along the seams.
I use a heat press. Do I follow the same steps?
Yes just don’t use the shrink wrap
I was about to purchase a Tumbler Press until I watched your videos! I'm so glad I found your videos first! Thanks!!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
awesome job with the shrink wrap
Thanks for watching!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You made this so easy to understand and follow. Thank you again!
I am glad I could help you!
what program did you use to make this
I use Affinity Designer for most of my designs. Thanks for watching!
Nice work I’m bout to put in the effort
You got this! Thanks for watching!
How much of an overlap?
1/8 to 1/4 inch
What type of paper are you using?
I have been using ASub 125 g paper. In fact it is the only paper I have used so far! I will be making some videos reviewing other brands soon! Thanks for watching.
That's amazing thank you so much for this
I'm glad you like it
Thank you!
You're welcome!
What kind of ink and paper do you use? Love the way your tumbler came out!!! Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much! I only use Asub 125 gram paper but I have 3 printers with different inks. I use Cyclone ink, Epson sublimation ink and Printers jack ink.
Hi enjoyed watching and learning the correct way to wrap a tumbler! May I ask what the little thing is you rested your tumbler on while taping the seam? Thank you for sharing!
When I made this video I was just using a plastic taping squeegee but now I use a tumbler taping stand that you may see me using in my other videos. I was making them and selling them in my Etsy store but we have been so busy making tumblers that I have not had a chance to make anymore! Thanks for watching!
I went out and bought tgst oven. You figured it all out. Thank you!!! Great instructions!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
Dude bye I can't see seam line 😂🤣 That awesome
My tumblers have been coming out great because of your method. The only issue I'm having is I'm getting ghosting from the tape. Have you seen this issue before?
Tape marks or ghosting? Also if it is ghosting were?
Well on the tumbler you can see every spot I put tape. Around top and bottom and the individual ones where seam is it.
Use very light pressure on your tumbler press. To much pressure will show tape marks
@@SnazzyMoonDesigns I will try that today. Thank you!
What is the purpose of the shrink wrap? & if you have a tumbler press why do you use an oven?Isnt the press better/more accurate than using the oven? I was gonna buy a press but now you got me second guessing that...
Shrink wrap is used when sublimating a tumbler in a convection oven. It keeps pressure on the design so it does not ghost. I feel that the oven does a better job on darker designs. I have not really used the tumbler press very much but I am getting ready to make a video comparing the tumbler press and the convection oven with a darker design to see if there is a difference.
Love the video! Also visited your website and love your designs; however, I do make my own tumblers. Have you considered selling the designs, themselves?
Yes I have. I just need to get around to making more and putting them in my store. Thanks for watching!
Unbelievable! Beautiful! I haven’t been pressing both seams. I’m hoping that helps. My overlap is about 1/8 of an inch.
Hopefully this helps!
was that a blowdryer or what?
It is a heat gun I purchased from Amazon
Omg…. This tumbler was so vibrant in color… love your technique… Thank you for sharing with me.. New Subscriber! #newtothetumbkerworld
Thank you!
Going to try doing this! Hopefully my ghosting stops 🥲
Let us know if this helps you!
What type of tape do you use?
I have a similar tape but it stains my tumbler
I have always used this tape and never had a problem with staining! amzn.to/3hbhMBY

Thanks I appreciate your help
Should the paper be overlapping slightly or just about touching?
I like to overlap my seams between 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch but not more than that. Thanks for watching!
Very helpful, thank you
Thank you!
I LOVE your company name!
I see you have a sublimation heat for tumblers . Can you use the sleeve method also.. your very detailed in this tutorial and Thank you for this video..
I tried the silicone sleeve in the oven and did not like it. It expanded and came loose. Thank you for watching my video!
You did an amazing job at explaining everything. Thanks a billion. Loved your video.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much. I just ordered a printer and can't wait to get started.
Are the edges overlapping at all at all or does it line up perfectly?
I overlap my edges just a little. Approximately 1/8 inch
Hi, I have been looking into starting to do sublimation tumblers and have seen a couple of videos but I still don't know what kind of paper and printer I need and also do you need special ink ? Could you please share that information with me. Thank You
Awesome Video
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Amazing!! Thanks very much for explaining everything, really enjoyed the step-by-step instructions 🤩
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
You said you’re Image size is 9.3x8.2 ? When you made your cut it was kinda hard to hear.
Yes for the tumblers I am using now my image size is 9.3 x 8.2. However I have some tumblers that I have to use 9.4 x 8.2. I usually like to make my image just a little bigger because I can always trim it down to the size I need.
Where do I buy the strink wrap? Amazon has a ton but reviews say they melt in the oven so I want to make sure I get what you used. Ty!
I was purchasing mine on Amazon but the brand I used to purchase is not available anymore. I am trying different brands to find one I like.
Great video. I'm hopefully starting soon. If you don't have the outer shrink wrap to cover it up, what do you suggest?
Some people use painters tape. You could also use a silicone sleeve. However the silicone sleeve is a little difficult to get on and off the tumbler! The shrink wrap helps keep pressure on the design and helps to prevent fading and ghosting.
Beautiful
Thank you!
Thank you for your CLEAR instructional video!
Can I use painters tape around edges if I don’t have shrink wrap?
Some people are painters tape and silicone bands
Beautiful
Thank you
Thank you for the great directions! I noticed the shrink wrap you used is out of stock at Amazon. Have you found another one that has the perforation that would make it easy to release off of the cup? Thank you so much.
