Nintendont can be picky, what are you trying to run games off, and is your storage FAT32? Also if you are using a USB stick those are often going to fight you, hard drives are fine but a USB drive with no power cable that gets power from the console might need a Y-Cable like I did.

My PSO Ep 1 & 2 Plus iso won’t go onto my SD card because my Windows laptop keeps saying the name’s either too long or not valid but it won’t let me rename it, only the folder 😞
If your are on Windows and you do not have file name extensions checked under view in your file explorer, you just name it game, if you have the box checked you name it game and leave the .iso alone, if the box is unchecked you likely named it game.iso meaning it ended up game.iso.iso. I had the same problem enable the names, or don't and just do game as the .iso part is hidden. When doing this people always forget to tell you if you have this off ignore the file name extensions, or check the box to follow guides better.
Same folder as the base game, but name the iso disk2. So make sure it's game.iso for disk 1 and disk2.iso for disk 2, keep them set and it should correctly switch.
Sorry I’m a little confused here. If I want to put my games on a separate portable hard drive or usb do I have to do all of these steps on the hard drive and SD card or can I get Nintendont on the sd card and just have it pull games from the hard drive?

Use a Wii Remote and a Nunchuck as in you need it plugged in, your Home button then works for soft resets, USB Loader GX has some extra settings, but a basic use of Nintendont you just need the one combo to get Home working.
Hello FunkyScott, i really wanted to know what is best way to play N64 games on Wii U (like the first Paper Mario in my case), because I know that N64 VC on Wii U has a dark filter and I don’t like it very much (also heard that there is an input lag issue with this VC version but not sure about that). So, with all the possibilities and benefits of a modded Wii U, i’m asking myself (and now you too) what is best way to play Paper Mario 64, is it still the Wii U VC version and I can find a way to remove this dark filter? Is it enough if turn the brightness up to the maximum on my TV? Should I go with the Wii VC that don’t have this dark filter but is maybe in a less good resolution? I'm having problems getting Nintendont and YawmMe show up on the Homebrew channel after downloading them in the computer, like the moment I put the files on my SD card, they don't show up on the Homebrew channel at all and they disappear when I insert my card back in my computer, and I resort to downloading them through the Homebrew browser. The same applies to my GameCube games, and I fear that it's because I accidentally opened the game files in the SD card and it says they're corrupted, and they might end up corrupting not just Nintendont and YawmME, but the rest of SD card that I use to homebrew my Wii.
Thank you so much! I got the biggest part of it running. However, when I try to launch a gamecube game within the USB loader GX it says "there is no memory card in slot A/B/C". Hi, I have a question. For the real GameCube Memory card, do I back that up first just in case something goes wrong, or am I able to use it as it is? Also, for me to add cheats to work for physical GC games, do I do it like the digital version, by making two new folders, 1 being codes and 2nd being the game ID, export the codes to gct and put it in the game ID folder and it should work right away? Another thing, since I'm doing everything physical, do I need to install the wads anyway?
The real Memory Card is safe Nintendont simply boots a game, it will not ruin your saves, It gets the Wii to boot in GC mode, but you can get a save backup app like I did to back up my Memory Cards, if you feel worried do like I did. GCMM was good for that. Cheats via Nintendont work on anything as long as you have the right folders, disks or otherwise, you need the right files to run the Gecko codes you need a folder on the root called sneek, and it needs to have the knobigc.bin and the knobiwii.bin files to even run codes, the code files go in a folder in the games folder named after the ID of the game. The WADs are just a way to make things easier, you don't need them if you run your apps off the HomeBrew Channel.
From what I'm watching here, I can install nintendont with my sd card, and then select usb in nintendont so I can play gamecube games from my usb, since I only have a 2GB sd card, but my usb drive is way bigger I'll try doing that
You need to format the USB drive to Fat32, and any drive over 32GB in size needs a formatting tool to make it FAT32, to load games off a 2TB USB drive I had to use other programs to make it FAT32 then I had to buy a Y-Cable to give my portable Seagate enough power to run, USB works but you need the FAT32 and for many types of drives that do not plug into a wall you will likely need a Y-Cable.

Does anyone know how to solve GameCube controller issues on nintendont? 😅 It works on one game, but not on others - have tried turning on and off the native controller option and nothing 😢
do u need gamecube controller? ot wiimote+nunchuck fine?
wiimote and nunchuk should work fine
I followed the tutorial up until you get to the wii itself. Does inserting the SD card with all of those files automatically add those other pages like the loader and homebrew or do I have to do that all in advance? Is there a video tutorial of installing those?
I figured it out! Thank you so much! I''ll give it a few months to see if everything keeps working and I'll be sure to donate!
