The Aputure MC Pro is 5W RGBWW lensed mini LED panel light made for professionals - featuring LumenRadio CRMX and a durable IP65 construction. Based on the original Aputure MC, the MC Pro utilizes a similar compact, credit card-sized form factor while packing in a comprehensive suite of professional functionalities. With various magnetic mounting solutions & accessories and wireless control methods (Sidus Link & LumenRadio CRMX), the MC Pro shines as a fixture that can be placed and operated virtually anywhere.
Featuring an upgraded optical design and LED chipset, the MC Pro can output 1,585 lux at 0.5m at 5,600K. This is achieved by narrowing the beam angle to 45° for increased intensity and a further throw, which can then be controlled or diffused using the included magnetic accessories, such as a 30° Light Control Grid or diffusers.
The upgraded LED design not only results in increased output power but also expanded color controls and CCT range, from 2,000K to 10,000K with green-magenta adjustment. This chipset can reproduce over 90% of all colors within the Rec. 2020 color space and produces faithful skin tones with a CRI/TLCI score of 96, SSI (D56) of 72, and SSI (Tungsten) of 82, consistent with Aputure’s high color accuracy standards across all product lines.
For full creative freedom, filmmakers can fine-tune the MC Pro’s color using advanced HSI with white-point adjustability, RGB, GEL, or xy controls. In addition to having 15 built-in System FX, the MC Pro is equipped with other advanced features unique to the Aputure and amaran ecosystems, including Sidus Pro FX, such as Picker FX and Music FX, which can be saved using the Sidus Link app for easy access to different lighting modes.
Whether choosing to control the MC Pro using its new TFT color display or any of its professional remote options such as LumenRadio CRMX, wired DMX/RDM1, or Sidus Link, operating this light feels seamless in even the most demanding conditions.
As a mini LED, the MC Pro’s rugged IP65 build maintains a lightweight frame (247g/0.54lbs) with a built-in rechargeable 15.5Wh battery that can operate at max output for 120 minutes. Its lightweight body can be mounted anywhere for quick lighting solutions with its rear-mounted magnets and ¼-20in mounting arm that can be attached to the included cold shoe ball head and magnetic plate.

After spending some time with the MC Pro, here is my filmmaking feedback:
I wish I could say I love them. I like mine and I am glad I bought one of them before buying the kit. I have the original MC kit and some separate MCs. I only use the MC Pro for an eye light and that is it. What I love about the MC Pro: Output, Magnetic Modifier Accessories and that is it. The kit for the MC Pro looks great because it has all the modifiers where the original didn't come with modifiers for each light (really a mistake on their part in my opinion.
What makes me choose the MC 95% of the time over the MC Pro? The weight, and not really the weight of the MC Pro but the lack of magnetic support for the weight of the MC Pro. I can stick the MCs anywhere and they will stay put and hold. The MC Pros magnets are too weak for the weight of the light. The magnetic ball head is great if it would hold. The magnets on the back of the MC Pro would be great if they would hold. I can't believe Aputure released these lights with such a weak magnet. They had to get feedback on this before releasing this light. It makes these lights unusable without a stand.
I can stick the MCs on a c stand, a door jam, a window sill and the MCs will hold tight. The MC Pro will barely hold on or fall. More output doesn't matter if you can't use it.
This is how you advertise a light! Well done, Aperture!
I would definitely like to see a 4-light kit. I cannot afford the 8-light kit, but I feel the single kit isn't enough.
This new MC pro gadget seems to be sturdy and reliable, but maybe Aputure can consider also setting forth an alternative version with interchangeable batteries. Sometimes replacing the battery is much faster than recharging. I just bought T2c month ago and I am very satisfied with its replaceable battery and DC connector input~

I've actually dropped 2 of My MC's in water on accident Dried them off put them in Rice and both still work great! Looking forward to getting my hands on some of these.
My MX survived multiple falls. My MC died eventually but it got dropped maybe a dozen times 😅

i dont own any of these portable lights. Is this one the best on the market from all the brands?
In my experience they are very reliable and has hold the battery life after many charging cycle. I also own the Aputure 60X & love the everything about it, from the built quality and CRI, overall super reliable.
Its like a better version of of the DMG Dash for half the price, bravo Aputure!

is the a useful light to light up a person during daylight? say the sun is setting in background and I want to fill the face with some light instead of a reflector... is this 5w light useful or is this for dark scenes mainly?
If this is your only light, no it very likely won't fill the person in enough to fight the silhouette. If you have other ambient light, and just want to fill in some shadow, then it can definitely do that for you, but it can't take on the sky or the sunset by itself.
