I was watching a locomotive video and ended up here. Very interesting class

Boilers just do not just run at 50% firing rate. You have to keep in mind that in addition to the process heating boilers also do space heating and that heating considerable reduces during summer. At different firing rate return water temperature will be different and so to calculate an exact savings you need to see the schedule of return water temperature through out the year to figure out exact savings bc condensation of flue gas depends on return water temperature.

Very good lecture, except that the "added linkless savings effect" is missing.

we have a nitrogen generator from atlas copco.. it separates oxygen from air and sends nitrogen for process requirement.
can I direct this oxygen to our boiler..??

    1 Boiler HP = 33,475 Btu/hr, therefore 500 Boiler HP= 16,737,500 Btu/hr.

It is not rational to use steam plants, when more efficient gas turbines are available.
Steam plants make only sense when they are used in combined cycle systems where the steam cycle uses the heat from the waste energy of the gasturbine.
So, no combustion boilers are needed at all. CC systems reach efficiencies exceeding 60%
    General Electric data.
    Typical application in Spain.
