- In this episode, I played for Kimbolton 1XI and used my Go Pro Hero 10 to film my batting against Castor 1XI.

Always watch Castors videos and their opening bowlers are very quick and accurate. Enjoyed hearing the curteous and friendly speaking whilst batting. Village cricket at its best

Very late comment here. That was a great spell of bowling and a great lesson in problem solving for the batsman. Do you think as soon as a couple went past the outside edge and it was obvious the bowler shaped it away naturally to th eleft hander that you could have shifted guard toward offstump to allow you more access to the ball and also to give you an easier leave the second he went wider? I know it brings lbw into the equation even more, but it seemed knicking off was by far the more likely dismissal here.

To the left handed who bowled the second over, your stance was open and you were playing inside the line. If you would have just triggered a bit more to off stump abd played it from there he would have shifted the line to more of outside off
Very good video. That bowler was accurate and with pace. You played him quite well and had started to settle in after a nervy start. But being. Cricket, batsmen get few chances to make mistakes whereas bowlers have more chances to correct their mistakes. What League is this and where is the match venue?
Cambridge Tucker Division 2, this was Kimbolton 1st vs castor 1st at Castor cc. He was a very tidy bowler!

Your stance seems very open, do you find it hard playing straight?
Agree on that it must be very difficult to play anything through the cover region and very easy to be squared up when trying to play straight or on side?

My only other tip is bat right handed and take leg stick lol.
Close that stance up from round the wicket set up for knicking off it it’s swing s away it’s fine for right arm over though
Was it the bowling or the wicket that made things difficult here ? The guys were pretty accurate and had the ball shaping away a bit, but was the wicket a bit unpredictable?
Wicket kept really low and that combined with it shaping away didn’t so me any favours

Your stance is hampering you facing any half decent seam or away swing bowling.... unless you have a trigger movement getting you into line you are going to struggle.. if the ball is coming in you seem fine..

this is just normal for us here in Pakistan quite used to play comfortably against 135-140 kph even on club level
