    Eddie was a national champion in swimming as a youngster and set some national records before being kicked out of the national squad for being too aggressive, so he has some legitimate athletic talent beyond just having world class strength.

      How is someone 'too aggressive' in swimming? You're not supposed to interact with other competitors at all! Did he, like, fight them or something?

    As a 6'3" guy myself I find it pretty common to run into other 6'3" guys that are shorter than me. Seems to be the specific height people lie about. Even had guy gaslight me to say I'm taller than I actually am to make their story believable

    • @thegodtier7947

      I feel like if you are a half of an inch from say 6’0 like 5’11.5 or 6’1 like 6’0.5. Then people should say I am a solid 5’11. But if you are 6’0.75 then saying 6’1 is fine as you can’t tell the difference normally.

    • @BarakaTheGreat

      There’s a reason why the national average is 5’9” but I find a lot of people are the same height or shorter than me and I’m a little under 5’8”. People love to overestimate their height. 😅

      @@thegodtier7947This is the boat I’m in. I’m 6’1 in every practical sense but I’m only slightly taller than guys that are 6’. Sometimes I’m half a head over guys who say they’re six foot and I’m like squinting, “You sure about that?” People chase that 6.

      😂 I’m not shorter. YOU’RE taller. The insecurity is astounding. I peaked at 5’9” and have shrunk with age and never really gave much thought to my height; I never really viewed it as something that held me back. Didn’t stop me from getting my first wife; she is 6’ 😂. Keep in mind I’m also bald and not particularly intelligent; you just go for things in life and stop worrying about stupid crap like your height, weight, IQ, etc.

    I think Eddie would excel as a grappler if he trained in any grappling style he chooses. I say that because not only because of his strength, but he generally seems to pick up on grappling techniques pretty quickly. I could see him making for a solid Boxer as well, which as stated he already has experience in. If he did some Boxing and then combined that with a focus on grappling.
    I could see him doing well in MMA, although he would need to work on the kicks, but he did well with those considering he only had a day's training. He seems to learn quickly, he applies his athletic skills well to various activities outside of his usual field, and he is focused as well as good natured about it. He also seems ready and eager to learn and I just think it's great when anyone is earnest in stepping outside of their field of expertise so I can't help but show respect and support for that.

    • @fireeaglefitnessmartialart935
      @fireeaglefitnessmartialart935 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      I think one of the carryovers in strongman, is how their strength and competitions work. They're not only lifting heavy weights, but also moving them over a distance, which takes endurance. I remember a former jujitsu coach say jujitsu is like running and lifting weights at the same time. And that's what some strongman competitions do.
      Of course different context and midsets, etc.

    Guy his size doesn't need as much technique to excel fairly well in grappling anyway, heck, a lot of grappling depends on flexibility which someone that big and strong just can't even put to use either so it's not even practical too. If he gets the right coaching and focuses on what is actually effective in his range he'd be such a dangerous fighter in only a couple of years of practicing it'd be scary. Someone like jujimufu with his insane flexibility for kicking would already be scary as heck, but imagine if juji did bjj, I still don't think he couldn't do the flexible bjj stuff because of his sheer size.
