Oh hey that chain looks very familiar! All jokes aside I kinda hate that old chain and everything I've discovered since very much outdates it. I'm currently working on a "Skrillex Growl Masterclass" video where I go in depth so everyone can better understand the theory behind it. Your edits made quite a difference and while I think it sounds better it's still very far off.
I think it still makes for a hard hitting drop! The reason I made this video is because I was making a deathstep track, and got to a point where I thought "Bleeve's Skrillex growl would SLAM here," loaded your video, copied it, then made edits to beef it up to match the intensity of the guns and screams. Then I made a little rough draft remake of SMANS for fun, uploaded it, and people in the comments said they want a tutorial and preset! This is a clip of the track I use it in: th-cam.com/video/uWmgStLbIwI/w-d-xo.html I've only used it in this, and for a single oneshot in another track so far, because Skrillex doesn't use it anymore, and it's an iconic sound that I wish was still being used in new dubstep, and other subgenres besides brostep, like minatory, deathstep, and tearout. All my other bass leads are original creations. I encourage people to edit it to be unique, or only use it sparingly. One easy way to do that is just use a waveform different from a a sine wave, like a complex waveform in serum or vital. Thanks for the comment, and I look forward to your next video!
I feel like if u add a midi effect to pitch up 4 semitones then add a frequency shifter at the end to shift down 4 semitones ull get the initial tonality right. I've done this alotnand it gets pretty close
This is awesome! You did a great job! Could this same preset be tweaked to recreate the bass sound from Skrillex - First of the Year? Or is that a completely different sound altogether?
what are the parameters in the serum fx in the patcher chain? because I have downloaded it, but I don't have access to serum, even less to the fx rack.
12:02 shows how to make it in serum, and the preset pack has a serum preset. When you understand how to make it in sytrus, it becomes obvious how to do it in serum and vital, since all have two sine waves and an FM from oscilator warp mode.

0:46 I LOVE THIS TOO MUCH!!
You did an amazing job, man!
thanks!
Fantastic! Thank you so much!
Bleeve has actually seen this video now :D
That's who I got most of the first 10 effects settings from!
@@spynasaurus5194 great timing lol

Thank you! Did you try it? Sounds lower than the usual sub octave. The pitch becomes rhythmic, like vocal fry.
make it with delay lama next
I can't afford that plugin
Can you also do a tutorial on the Elephant sound in the video?
I just opened the project to save it as a preset a few days ago. I was going to do a pan snare tutorial next.
awesome video! + sub❤

I read this again and understand now. SerumFX was just used for dimension expander to make it slightly stereo like in the original.
The thumbnail shows serum but the synth is sytrus.
