I recommend finding a song that would fit your characters think of a story write it down if you struggle to remember make a really rough storyboard to outline the story and then make it more clean and "animated" you can iver do it on an actual animation or animatic program or you can draw all the pictures individually and then edit it together though that in my opinion can be kind of time consuming. For making aninatic I use krita. Also I recommend paying attention to how other do there animatics with the framing for example usually there's some sort of establishing shot to help give the viewer an idea as to were the character is. Also consider different camra angles can help make the animatic look more interesting also your art doesn't nessierilly need to be as detailed as the art of this video it is definitely supposed to be sketchy. Also eventhough it is an animatic it can still be useful to look at animation ref sheets espesially for more difficult motions like walking for example. Also if you are drawing a new character or just in general I recomend making a model sheet to keep the characters more consistent it depends how professional you want it to look like

The animatic looks really nice and don’t worry about shortcuts, as a new animator I take a bunch of them all the time(And I’m jealous of you using 3d models as I can’t use them because I don’t use a computer). I’l be honest. I haven’t read your webcomic yet as its not really my cup of tea but it sounds interesting. Its just that I don’t really like romance stories(nor am I very good at writing them).

Omg this was so beautiful! Glad you jumped on the animatic train! I love making animatics to my characters! It’s gives me ideas of their personalities and helps me expand them. Especially when I put clips from scenes as the audio. If you ever want to explore your characters further then I highly recommend it! I like to use funny audio from previous memes on TH-cam , or skits from vine or tik tok. I picture who would be in this scene, which role and what they would be. Funny enough some of those ideas have made it into jokes for the main story 😂. It’s great exercise! Even if you don’t draw them out you still find out something new about your characters!

Wow, that looks so good. I’m currently trying to make an animatic. I try to add to much detail and movement so it isn’t going very well 😅 but you did a great job with yours. There isn’t a lot of movement but you made it look like there is and it still looks detailed even in grayscale. You should make one for Pariah, I think she would be fun.
Oh I always wanted to do that too! But I always have these great concepts in my mind that are too difficult for trying this out for the first time so I always end up scratching the project... I really love how yours turned out, it really motivates me to try again!

Animatics are actually not for music videos or voice overs, their more like animated storyboards, to tell a story, on youtube yes they are mainly used for music videos, but the actually animatic is actually a set of storyboards put into one scene to tell the animators where to move and kind of how the camera angels and characters are supposed to be Hope this definition helps, and your animatic was great!

I dont see a problem using 3d models. I will help with proportions in the right spots, height differences, and getting a good idea for a pose. as long as you don't make it 100% like the model

I also can't use 3d models because I draw on ibispaint x and it doesn't have the feature. Good thing I have vroid studio to use instead!
