I've visited Breda several times over the years & even bought a few CDs in Magik Store. When Electronic Family was at Dean Bosch, I'd stay at the Campanile outside Breda. Then pop into the centre to visit Albert Heijn🤣🤣
Awesome! So cool to see how the old record shop looked like. Wish I could go back in time and visit that shop haha! Thanks for the great vlog, Twan, very interesting.
One of my records had a 'Magik' price tag which the style of writing looked familiar. Thanks to your vid, I was right! I had to double-check as the record is Nukleuz Hard House!
Great vlog and awesome work Twan! Awesome to see these Tiesto landmarks in Breda. Keep them coming! An Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, or Markus Schulz landmarks video would be awesome as well. :)
Thank you! And according to my sources it was mainly Dennis. I would love to do an interview with him one day, but unfortunately he said “no” when I did ask him a while ago.
Can you do profile video for Cor Fijneman? I think he's the main reason Tiesto got his fame. I like to seewhat hes up yo, and what memories he has from co writing for tiesto and his thoughts on those days.
As far as I know Tijs was already a pretty popular DJ and releasing several mix CDs and productions (hardcore, gabber, techno-ish material) before he and Cor met. There are 3 guys that have been VERY important for the career of Tijs; Arny Bink, Wilfriend Dam and Dimitri De Wit. (Record lable, management and bookings). Cor "only" did co-write/produce a few tracks with Tijs, most of the productions have been done by some other guys. Cor is still DJ-ing btw, mostly techno these days :)
That's what I said ;-) "most of the productions have been done by some other guys", the three most important ones I know are Geert and his old production team Dennis and Hans-Willem.
By the way, what is your opinion about this ? About the fact that his solo album (In My Memory, Just Be, Elements of Life) are not that much "solo". For example, I've never really understood why "Brightmorning Star" is titled as Tiësto while it's clearly written it's BT who composed this track. Is there any reason behind this kind of habit ? (I don't wanna write "ghostproducing" because Tijs deserves much more respect than that).
No, that was a few years after the shop got closed. The shop closed mid 2006 and in 2007 he did the "Elements Of Life" album and tour. Then ISOS6 in the same year, plus in 2008 he did ISOS7 on the Black Hole label. I think he left in 2009, since at the end of that year he released the "Kaleidoscope" album on Musical Freedom, which changed his musical direction as well.
Hey Twan. Once, under one of the comments, someone asked you about the possibility of doing an interview with Tiesto, and from what I remember, you wrote that there is no sense doing an interview with him for some reason. But maybe someday you could do an interview with the man who produced many hits for Tiesto. This man's name is Dennis Waakop and he lives in the Netherlands and has a studio in Rotterdam. denniswr.com/ I heard about it recently and I was little shocked that Tiesto doesn't really do music production but do a show as a DJ and uses Ghost Producers. Greetings.
Too bad. It seems he wants to stay behind the scenes forever. Or maybe he is bound by some legal agreements that he cannot tell about the fact that he has produced many songs for Tiesto.
@@muzikxpress ... probably...he never mentions his father so i guess it's not a pleasant theme of discussion for hm.... maybe in music he found more Love 😉. It would be interesting though any info about Tiesto 's relationship with his father..... In general he never mentions much about his family in his interviews.
@@ladcherif09 Google “Dennis Waakop-Reijers” and check out his website. I met him / spoke to him a few times, plus I spoke to several other people involved as well. There is a reason why you never see Tiësto at work in the studio, I guess you know why 😉
@@ladcherif09 When I did work for Trance.nu we did an interview with Geert Huinink. He wasn't the main producer of Tiësto though and he has always been mentioned in the credits. I would love to do an interview with Dennis, but he said "no" when I did ask him.

Another great vlog Twan. Keep them coming :)
Thank you! And thanks for the repost, much appreciated!!

I learned to speak Dutch in 2008 to understand his interviews and I visited his hometown in 2005 where I had the chance to meet his mother😍
Oh wow, that is super cool! Heel goed ;-)
I got tears watching this, i love old tiesto tracks and sets so much! They are so unique :-´) Magik 6 still one of the best live cd ever.
Hell yeah, you can hear the famous sound building up in the background. "Tiesto - Urban Train" What a ride!!!
Awesome! So cool to see how the old record shop looked like. Wish I could go back in time and visit that shop haha! Thanks for the great vlog, Twan, very interesting.
Thanks Timo! I've been to the old shop maybe 2 or 3 times, I wish I had taken a bunch of pictures then, oh well hehe ;-) Glad you enjoyed the vlog!

Incredible Work Twann, Have you tried to reach out Hans Willem Mallon, he is also considered as a producer that made a great hits for/with Tiesto ?
Thank you! And according to my sources it was mainly Dennis. I would love to do an interview with him one day, but unfortunately he said “no” when I did ask him a while ago.

For all these years i didn't know how to pronounce Tijs Verwest - until now! It sounds similar to the Danish name Theis.
Haha glad I could help ;-) Hope you enjoyed the vlog!
I did. Oh, and i believe i just became subscriber number 600 :)

Breda?
Breda 9PM (DJ Montana Edit) Parade of the Athletes, good stuff.

muzikxpress thank you very much
Was there a reason as to why he closed down his record shop?
Less sales I guess, not sure, but I think that was one of the main reasons. Downloading etc.
